I can, built up layouts just aren't worth much. I estimate it would have cost me about $500 (and two days) to go and pick it up and I have my own "enclosed" vehicle. For someone who doesn't they would have to add that cost on there too.

The seller would be heartbroken, certainly was well done and a great display piece. After being stung a couple of times on ebay by using their famous 99c starting bid and finishing up costing me more than I got I now have a policy of stating a starter price that at least prevents that. I've started using a local e-seller called "Gumtree". Standard listings are free, you only pay for featured if you wish and no auctions. Has been very successful.

I think the intent was to get rid of it without throwing it away. Otherwise, he would've put a higher price on it.

It could've been shipped, but the crate and shipping fees would be high. To add insult to injury, the trees and buildings wouldn't ship well. Perhaps it could've been partially disassembled.

I think he would have felt like he'd thrown it away. Hopefully whoever bought it is a newcomer to the hobby and there'll be some compensation in knowing he's encouraged that person.

I am not an ebayer. I search there once in about every 6 months. I have only purchased 3 items in the last two years.

I was looking at this and about kicked my self hard!!! I work about 25 miles from this guys house. I would have loved to pick that up for $20.00.

Seems I am always a day late and a dollar short.

Buzz.
