I have a Rivarossi 0-8-0 switcher made in 1974-1977 according to the paperwork I have found.
My question is ,does anyone have/know where I can get the motor for this . I believe it is shorted. The info I have lists 2 different motors, one is from AHM parts sheet, which is P-137-078. The other number is from what I believe is a parts list from Rivarossi, that number is R 16364. I have searched the internet and found one that looks like the one I need ,but has a different part number.
Am I screwed on this or should I keep going. Is there a conversion to use a different motor for this.
The Rivarossi sheet shows a model number for the locomotive as 5431,5432, and 5433, all using the same parts. I've looked on the Rivarossi site but am having a hard time navigating it due to lack of info on this model. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The motor I need is for a 1975 switcher. Same as the one pictured . The motor is a weird one as it is a vertical shaft motor . See attached picture. If it is mounted like the one in the picture it should work. The big thing is the fork that retains the motor. Thanks for the reply.

Looks like the standard Rivarossi motor, likely the same as used in their diesels. You could easily find parts used, or even a donor loco.

What’s wrong with the current motor?

It's bad. it will run, but it runs real slow. When you touch the shaft ,it will stop. Also in order to get it going ,you have to spin the shaft. It has zero speed or torque.

That looks identical to the motor in the E8's. AHM is the American distribution for Rivarossi. They just repackaged Rivarossi and changed the plate that had the rivaroassi name to AHM. The AHM part number is the same number and will fit fine.

I forgot about this thread. I was able to find a good motor on e -bay for a reasonable price. Cleaned and oiled everything and it runs fine on a small test track I built. Thanks to all who gave me advice. I appreciate it.
