Sometime in the last year or so - how's that for specific :D - someone posted really cool photos of a railroad scrap yard with tons of engines, etc. I'm thinking about modeling something like that, except it would refurbish both loco's and rolling stock. I've looked but not found - could someone help me find those pictures?

Alcomotive, great but sad photo. Where was it taken at and do you have more? Most of the ones I have seen, photo wise, is waycross georgia, silvis illinois and newark nj. Look up silvis and waycross at www.railpictures.net . They have quite a few there. They have a couple for newark nj. I figured since newark, nj and the scrap yard pilet brothers across from the lagrange plant scrapped alot of engines that there would be more photos of them. But I have seen very few pilett brothers and newark, nj.

Oh on a side note. If I ever found one that was scrapping them I would probably max out a few credit cards buying souviners. :)

Here's 3 pics of my junk yard. It's next to my heavy equipment yard. It took me about 3 weeks of adding junk out of all my scrap boxes. I still add stuff all the time. Last week I added box car sides for the outside fencing along the rails. Don't have a pic of that addition yet. The yard is about 4ft long & the widest spot is about 2ft.
This is the 1st big area that people see when they come into my train room & it gets a lot of comments especially from the guys.
The junk yard has mostly train parts. Caboose's, tank cars, box cars, steam & diesel shells, streetcar shells, iron ore pots & the rest is semi's, cars, trailers, sm. buildings, sm. OH crane, 1 siding & tons of everything including the kitchen sink.
