Good morning folks. 58°F and partly cloudy this morning. I was beginning to think Autumn was never going to get here.

6.5 hours of solid sleep last night. I must have really been out. I did not hear the neighbor fire up his truck this morning, nor did I hear the garbage truck come through. And I didn't have the room A/C or a fan running either.

Willow woke me whining to go out. So out we went at 0600. Coffee is good this morning. Surgery follow-up today at 1445. Not sure why. The drain and Foley stay in for another six days and nothing has changed since the procedure except for less pain, and more feeling normal.

Have a nice Autumn day today.

Servus!

Good morning from Wisconsin where the temperature is 8c heading to 20c.

The arborist and her crew are coming to trim the bushes around the stables, shop, office, our home complex. They are also going into the grove of trees between here and the 1st big field to the daughter’s family’s house to mark them for removal or heavy duty trimming. They also will walk the 1600’ tree lined driveway marking those trees. The driveway was cut through the same grove of trees but it was written up separately on the proposal. Red to remove yellow to trim. They will trim the trees but not cut them down. They figured 3 days to complete. We have had too many near misses this Summer with branches falling in the wind and in a few cases blocking the big driveway. I no longer will do this chore of cutting trees and I never enjoyed trimming the bushes!

The outdoor temperature for those not training for a Canadian excursion or move it is currently 47f and the guess for later is 68f or 10degrees higher than yesterday

I’m here all morning. Terry has a medical imagining event at 12:20 that takes they say 45 minutes. She says I’m not needed to drive afterward

I will be mostly in the studio slinging paint onto canvas

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All!
48F @ 77% dark and clear.

Went to the VA yesterday for a 6 month recheck of my baby blues. Had a dry spot last time of which has gone away. Did have a very tiny bleeder which they gave me the choice of a recheck in 6 Months or my normal yearly. I said 6 Months as we like to go to Spo for shopping and our fav butcher store... Doc came in and made the 6 month mandatory. I did find out something that was kinda fun - during the bright light sequence, there is a target that looks like the Wal*Mart '*' that I was to directly look at, welp I figured out how to move it slightly by changing my eye(s) focus ( not looking L/R or U/D ). Girl running the machine was lost until I figured out I was doing it and told her. Apparently, the machine focuses on a very tiny spot on/in the back of the eye and changing the eye causes the * to move off the focal plane and the resulting pix becomes blurry. She had never heard/seen that and brought in a supervisor to check it out. Sup had not seen that either. My wife still thinks I am strange...

Frankly, this mid-level set up is about all my ears can manage
As Claude (AI) might say, "That is the smartest thing you said in the entire post"
Troy, you seem to be repeating yourself this morning. You do know that’s one of the classic signs of early onset Alzheimer’s, right? Or maybe that’s just the side effect of an MRI.
It probably has more to do with the copy, refresh and paste process to keep the forum authentication happy.

I'm not complaining, I like how the forum has been working since the authentication started.

Good Morning All. Clear and 71°, going up to 95° later. That's 22°C to 35°C for those learning the conversion. Looks like that's our pattern for the next ten day forecast. First full day of Fall today, as it officially started at 8:04pm CDT last night. Maybe it will rain soon. Ozone Action Day today for whatever that's worth.
Pool temperature at 5:00 pm yesterday was still 87° (30.5°C), while not really "cool", it felt great after 2 months between 89° and 92° (32°-33°C).

Yesterday's visit to the Primary Care guy was more or less a wasted trip. Nothing changed and he didn't even order a blood draw. But he said that the last numbers showed steady improvement from the anemia.

Back to regular stuff around the homestead today, probably will fire up the mower for a bit to trim some ragged areas.

Another routine day out in the train shed yesterday, just minor tasks here and there as I walked around. A couple more new vehicles in the area around Pizzaland, some background lichen added to some scrubland area, and some dusting of debris. Sorted through some already made trees (from Chet) to see if I could use any right now, not now as they are all too big. I did set a couple aside for repair though.

Michael - I mostly skip the "snowflake" questions on the federally mandated forms and the NP fills them out!
Karl - Your playlist and your "crush", reminds me of a concert that I went to in Ft Worth in 1970 with The Jefferson Airplane. Someone from the audience yelled to Grace "Show us your panties", and she raised her skirt momentarily to reveal that she wasn't wearing any. I already had a crush on her at the time.

A few musical birthdays today of note. The late Ray Charles was born on this day in 1926; late blues guitarist Roy Buchanan was born on this day in 1939. Still with us is singer Julio Iglesias, born in 1943, Lovin' Spoonful bassist Steve Boone, also in 1943 and finally Bruce Springsteen in 1949.

Everybody have a wonderful Wednesday.

Good morning, all! Fall is finally here. Well not exactly here. Yesterday 99, today forecasted 98 with the usual high humidity.

For some time now, I've been fighting a pain/ache mid glut to mid calf (shades of Troy). Yesterday was my first day of Physical Therapy. Based on this morning's ache they found the right nerves and muscles. Had the shot in the back some 3 weeks ago, and zip, nada, no effect.

I can't say their names
Actually you probably can. Each syllable is basically said how it looks and each syllable is pronounced. Its syllabic so break it into consonant-vowel or standalone vowel (or “n”) syllables.

“i” is ee sound. “u” is “oo” similar to in “moot”. Vowels are generally short but if followed by “u” or with a line on top are long. Which literally means hold them slightly longer.

Hardest is when there are multiple vowels together. Technically they’re each a different aylllable and slowly said you hear it but at normal speed they become more like a diphthong. In the Totoro movie the little girl is Mae (“May”) and it’s spelled (using Japanese characters) as “mei” which is “me I” syllables. That’s the only really hard part.

What disks are your Must Haves? In Classic Rock, Prog Rock, Smooth Jazz, and Showtunes.
Yes. Rush. Led Zep. Queen. There are a ton of others but that gets you started.

Anything with Chick Corea (which also includes Return to Forever).

Big Band is fun. Glen Miller for example. There is a “Glen Miller orchestra” that has new releases (last 40 years). Obviously not the original recordings.
