Good morning from Wisconsin where the rain has started again. We need the rain just not the flash flooding the area is getting. 52f degrees now and hopefully 60 later. I did bring in the pergola furniture I had out. Decided at 4pm to bring it in and got the last piece stored as the skies opened up! The pastures and paddocks are all a beautiful green with the grasses and weeds growing with the rain. A much nicer looking picture than the dried up browns of August. The 10 forecast shows 1 day with 70f degrees in it, day 9 from today! If it gets into the 60’svwith sun it’s very pleasant but with no sun it’s feeling like a warmer February

Off to the post office at 8am as the equipment sale is ongoing. My 1st custom painted Gp40-2L Wisconsin Interstate is heading to North Carolina

and 2 of my weathered CN Gp40-2W’s are heading to Maine! 10 plate F 60’ weathered box cars are off to Cleveland and 4 new in the box molten sulfur box cars are heading to Columbia, Tennessee along with some custom parts for a paper mill. I have 3 brass Gp35’s used as 1 consist residing at a friend’s layout to use at Op Sessions as he is still accumulating equipment. He has offered to buy them on an installment plan! I’m internally debating that one. I told him no need to buy as they are on his layout already

Terry has a medical today and then we are off to look at a greenhouse the local technical school construction class builds. Recommended by the contractor after the Amazon greenhouse was unavailable

Enjoy your day

Good morning. 64°F/64°F this morning under partly cloudy, stary morning. Not sleeping for a whole lot at once, but it's been solid for a shorter time. Up at 0430 this morning. First cup of coffee cooling a bit now.

Dr. at 0930 so I guess she can look at my drain amount again, which is very little this morning. Much less than yesterday morning at this time. I'll probably nap on the couch before getting ready for my visit. Oh, and go over yesterday's creatinine analysis.

That's great news, and I hope you too will be home soon. Do they perform pressure checks in that eye every so often during the day?

Have a great first day of Autumn! Finally!!

Servus!
Thanks I hope so too. If all goes well, I should be out of here on either Friday or Saturday. They do not do pressure checks during the day and when I see the doctor, they do the bright light scan only so far.

Good Morning All. Clear and 70°, heading into the lower-90's today. It reached 98° yesterday. Thunderstorms nearby yesterday evening left some people some rain. Sprinkles here that didn't measure in my rain gauge, Weather Underground around the corner measured 0.03", basically nothing. So the drought continues with nothing that I would cal "measurable" since June 22, basically 3 months without any rain at all. Trees are losing leaves and I think that a few are dying.

The visit with the dermatologist went OK yesterday, but I need a 60-day followup for a couple of conditions that still persist from the last inspection. Nothing serious, one spot that hasn't healed from last March's freezing and a persistent rash. After that adventure, I did a few household tasks and took a nap.

Today is a visit with the PCP for what seems like a continued followup for anemia and a likely blood draw. The rest of the day will be whatever gets my attention.

Out in the train shed yesterday, just more of the same. Some ballast and ground cover as I fill in areas and advance into a small area that I hadn't originally considered. Planted a few trees along the tracks.

Michael - My best wished to you on a continued good recovery.
David (Marlin) -
I don't need Nicki falling face first into a rose bush or cracking her head on a rock because a step gave way.
I don't think that we want David doing that either!
Think of this for foundation issues. We had 15"+ of rain in June and not a drop since. Years ago, my kiddos would make a path with scrap pieces of plywood so they could walk to the swing-set without slipping into cracks in the ground.
Lonnie - I've been to Stingaree's for lunch before, my favorite is the "Big BLT".
Yep! A half pound of Bacon.

Singer/guitarist Joan Jett is 68 today.
Everyone have a great Tuesday.

Well howdy there internet people, and those with metal objects stuck to you

Its Troy again.

Just back from getting my spine magnetized.
No music. :( Just foam earplugs.
The machine itself was claustrophobia inducing, but I kept my eyes closed and thought about the plot of the book I'm working on. Need to make some notes based on my thinking magnetic thoughts

No pics. Since phones, hearing aids, watches, eyeglasses weren't allowed. Shoes (sneakers) were. So my feet stayed warm.

I think I would enclose that 110 v outlet with the terminals exposed. Instead of those l-o-n-g standoffs (that to me look a bit shaky anyway) mount one of those blue or gray plastic single outlet boxes to the vertical plywood piece with a couple of screws through the back. A face plate would be an optional as, at least the 110 volt terminals will be enclosed/covered. And the whole outlet will have a more secure mounting.
Just a safety suggestion.
At a minimum, put two or three wraps of good electrical tape around the outlet to cover the silver & brass connection screws.

Done. Neater and safer. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good morning folks, 63 and sunny here, supposed to rain today. We have had mule deer and foxes hanging out around the condo while here. We are on a golf course, so the wildlife waits until evening to come out. Been a very nice trip and it is the first one in ages without kids along or with us. Feels very strange. But it is a bit more relaxing.
Prayers for you guys recuperating. And for those of you contributing to the natural gas in the atmosphere, welcome to the club.

Wonderful afternoon here. 65°F and cloudy, but no showers. Dewpoint is in the 50°Fs and I couldn't be more pleased that Autumn has finally arrived in Southern Illinois.

Doctor appointment for establishing a GP care provider went well and my nurse practitioner is quite the doll face...but of course married.

Some of the questions they ask on the forms are ridiculous and I had half a mind to forget the whole thing and go home, but I finished them. Damn good thing they didn't ask me about firearms in the home. Plenty of Snowflake questions to answer though. I'm surprised my BP was normal after answering two pages of asinine questions.

Have a great afternoon. Hope it's Autumn where you are.

That's a long stay!

Are you going thru train withdrawal yet? 🤣
More like food withdrawals. This is what I had for lunch yesterday. I only ate about 1/3 of the rice.

That’s a piece of mackerel with some grated radish and some pickled vegetables. The pink thing is a jelly that I don’t eat and in the cup with some tea. I would like a large salad on the side. I would have starved until dinner, but I had one dorayaki left in the refrigerator. Dorayaki is a small sweet pancake sandwich with black beans.

I think I’m losing weight here, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

As for trains, I’m getting my fix by watching the sales.
