S F Willie stated yesterday was the birthday of Freddy King. This guy is one of my favorites and used to play pretty regularly in Dallas at clubs back in the mid/late 70s. My favorite tune is : "Living in the Palace of the King" but there are others right up with that one.
A little known fact......
Hide Away was written by Freddie King and Sonny Thompson. King recorded the instrumental in 1960, and it was released as a single in 1961.
The song "Hide Away" is the most played song in clubs by live bands all across the U S. It is an instrumental usually played by a band that is heading into a break.

And I'm still working on finishing my upper level servos and controllers. I have 4 left to do. It has taken a while as I have had some issues with the BLOCKSignalling servo controllers and lost about 4 hours in trying to make the LED lighting part work. And I have had 16 servos from Adeept that were defective. Seems like every evening I work on the turnouts, there is a new issue. Last night I went out to the train room and was just too discouraged to do anything. I'll hit it again this evening. The Tam Valley Depot products have worked very well but I still have four more of the BLOCKSignalling units I purchased over a year ago that I need to use.

Every Texas musician or group used to play that song from 1961 until at least 1980, Bugs Henderson, Johnny Winter and Buddy Guy, to name a few. Also non-Texas bands like John Mayhall w/Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa, King Curtis and The Jeff Healey Band.
 


The rain gauge fit perfectly on the end of my dumbbell handle. Finally got good use out of that thing. :P

Looks like I missed the bulk of the rain last night as it started around 2100 and ended around 0500. More guessed today, so I'll take my reading from 0800 to 0800 tomorrow.
 
I think these spammers look for these drive-by member posts and pick an account that the owner will never notice anything happening.

At a forum I admined a long time ago before VerticalScope came along and gobbled up every forum out there, I used to purge idle accounts if they hadn't posted in over two years.

Food for thought.

It's Troy again.

Awake at 4 am. Laid on the couch for a while. The new drugs are starting to work. but they're mostly masking the pain, not solving the issue. I still trigger pain by walking too much, or standing too long.

Showering is a challenge. I added a small vanity stool for the bathroom, so I can sit near the sink and shave each morning. Was sitting on the toilet lid to shave but had t really stretch to reach the sink and rinse the razor.

Need to run to the grocery this morning. Fortunately I'm getting skilled at driving the little scooters they keep there.

Not sure what today will bring? Other than showering and groceries, I'd like to work on some writing. Most of the brain fog is lifted from the new pharmaceuticals but I'm not 100%. Maybe 98%? Attention span wanders even easier than before.

Managed to sit in the recliner last evening. That was nice. The couch isn't my first choice. Being able to put the computer on my lap, and not on a side table, laying on my side to stare at it really helped.

I won't be walking far any time soon. But it's getting there.

Which is good. We have the wife's side family reunion coming up next weekend. I have to smoke a chuck roast, and a pork shoulder. Pulled pork. And wife wants beef and noodles. Figure I'd do up a chuck roast one evening for dinner, then use leftovers in the Beef-n-noodles.

Good morning Crew. It’s 74f degrees now but the WeatherChannel app is saying the high will only be 80. That’s 11 degrees lower than the 6pm media weather guy on the local channel was guessing. I then looked at his TV channel website and it’s showing a high of 82 today. Not sure why but will be happy if correct. We need a breeze more than 3-4 mph as the humidity is at 94% and we have dense fog.

I’d like to get to the Taste of Madison we had written off because of the 90+ degree predictions. Starts at 2 and runs till 10 and again Sunday. 90 local restaurants and 12 stands serving adult refreshments and 4 music stands. It’s always been a fun zoo

Depending on what we end up doing or not will get me to the work bench
