Can't really answer, since they were invisible electronic ones! So I had a beer with lunch and they were gone when I returned to the computer.

Met with the orthopedic surgeon today. He showed us the xrays, ct scans, and MRI. The lesion was real obvious. He said that since Nicki is physically active and in great shape that the surgery should be done before the hairline fracture becomes a full fracture, so she can get back to her normal level of activity. She hasn't been able to leave the house or move around without a walker since last Wednesday.

They are trying to get her into surgery this Friday. He said that she should be able to get on a treadmill within 7 days after the surgery. They're going to screw a rod into the femur to stabilize it. About a 2 hour surgery and she will stay overnight.

I stopped by the shop to pick up my commission check for August. The owner showed me a tub with 6 HK 36k kits. They had to cut the receivers when they received them from the LE agency. They should do pretty well when I list them.......one every 2 weeks.

Thanks for reminding me about hkparts.net. They're actually local to me and I talked with the guy down at the Small Arms Review gun show in Phoenix like 15 years ago -- I have a -91 that is missing a few parts and he said he'd get me set up.

A few moments ago I got a DB error but when I refreshed it came right back quickly.

Trying to get a printer working again. The printer doesn't have WiFI and needs to be plugged into a network with a normal ethernet cable. At the last house that was not a problem but here I don't have wired networking on this side of the house. But I figured I could hook it to the ethernet on my computer and run a private network on the ethernet (while the computer gets to the internet over WiFi). We'll see if I can get it working. I need to help my daughter get some stuff printed for a visa application for Japan.

Since I don't have sheep, I will have to go cut the lawn if not above 80 F at 8 AM.

Well, I finally done it, I convinced the doctors to let me go back to work. Thursday I will be back in the office. I do have a visit with cardiologist today. This is just a regular check up.

Our miserable warmth continues again today. Currently its a muggy 73F. High for today is going to be 95F. Heat advisories are already posted.
Another day to stay inside this afternoon and hug the A/C.

Nothing special planned for today. Usual stuff around the house this morning.

Slept OK through the night. Steroids helping in a minor way. Today is the last day of tapering them off.

I have an appointment with the spine car team this afternoon.

Right now it's heading pad and coffee through a straw time (I lay on my side with the heating pad).

I was up from 2:30-4:30 this AM. That happens sometimes. Old people sleep funny, I guess. I fell asleep early last night after dinner. Woke up at 10:00 and went to bed. that probably had something to do with it.

Afternoon All! 89 in the Brew City, and muggy as hell! Been gone six days, spent some time in the Pittsburgh area seeing old friends and what little family is left out there. It's still a nice area, though some of the old home places still show influence from the rust belt era. Businesses gone, towns smaller, vacant store fronts in Main Street, etc. It's not what it was when I was a young man, but it still has some charm, and the food is good! We had good weather. There was one good train store, mostly Lionel/MTH O gauge. but some HO and N. I found some engine crew figures, and got really tempted by a beautiful GM&O Pacific. Unfortunately it was O-42, and it would have wound up as a shelf queen if I took it home. I felt it deserved a better fate than that! A 1600 mile road trip in all. We had good fun. Went to Phipps Conservatory that was doing an "Alice in Wonderland" themed exhibit. Rode the Monongaleha Incline and had lunch in Mount Washington. The view of the city is awesome from up there. Brought home a boatload of stuff from my favorite Italian Grocery Store, and some fresh tomatoes. We do many things well in Wisconsin, but unfortunately, good tomatoes aren't one of them. It took the cats until this morning to forgive us for being gone so long. Had to get the daughter to Nu-Motion first thing this morning to be fitted for a new walker, then back home to mow, as the lawn was looking scruffy. It rained right after I finished, so the timing was good. After all that I needed a nap. Still recovering from the long drive yesterday. Enjoy your day, what's left of it. PS: Nice to see the forum behaving itself. I hope it continues to do so.

ESPEEFAN (Alan) The closest I have found in Italian Grocery Store/Deli in Wisconsin that closely compares from my Chicago growing up days is Tenuta’s Deli and Grocery in Kenosha on 52th Street a couple blocks east of the old AMC auto factory that is still mostly vacant land. Fraboni’s in Monona is a distance 2nd.

Good morning to all. No gremlins for me because the frustration of previous data error messages hasn’t worn off. I just check in occasionally now.

71f degrees now with a possible 88 later. I watched the local weather after dinner and the media weather expert said a good chance of T-Storms today. Looking at the WeatherChannel radar app it’s going to have to be one of those “pop up” storms. Radar shows nothing closer than 50-60 miles west of us and that is moving northeast. The walk this morning it being Wednesday was 2 miles on the treadmill. It is too humid ar 94%.

Terry will decide if we hit up the Farmers Market today. Doubtful because the humidity does affect her breathing. I’m going FM or not to the Artist Craftsman store just off of campus. I need a few more canvas, taskboard, oils and it’s back to school week and everything is on sale. The sale is pretty good as I usually avoid this place. It’s like the LHS to a modeler, very addictive and oh so much greater than Michael’s.

I’m not sure if I do anything with the tree building today. 1st day of school for the 2 apprentice painters and yesterday they let me know they will not be stopping after school today. We are ahead of schedule plus Friday’s work session has been cancelled. Friday the plaster cloth was going in for the area the trees are being built for. Not my problem but the scenery guy already was saying it was doubtful he’d be installing trees on 10/7. It seems we all handle deadlines differently
