Good morning. It's clear and 73. I got a package of air horns to replace a pair of missing ones on a couple of diesels, so they can again lead. The horns I got are not exact replacements, since the ones I need are not available. While they look okay, they are on extended mounts for later models, and when I placed them on the cabs, the horns stick up about 2-3 scale feet, and look like ice breakers you'd see on some SP diesels. I'm not sure if I want to trim off and whittle down the mounts (remember, this is N scale), or enlarge the mounting holes in the cabs.

Good Morning All. Clear and 69° here this morning, after a much cooler day yesterday at just 91°. Today is forecast to be 95°, which is the highest in the upcoming ten day forecast. NWS seems pretty positive about rain for the next five days, ranging from 30% tomorrow to 100% on Wednesday. Besides dropping 0.4" on us Friday night, Mother Nature gifted me with some high winds.

An early start to 2025's firewood.

Thanks for all of the many comments on our anniversary. I passed them on to my wife, but she ignored me!

Somewhat busy day yesterday, as the wind also knocked over one of the "shade umbrellas" over the pool. No damage and it actually helped as I was going to take that one down yesterday anyway. I'll be needing the extra sunlight to heat the pool water for a few more days; but it doesn't appear that I will get another week of use. Optimal temperature for us is 82°-85°, although I can tolerate 78° once I get over the shock of actually getting in the water. I also spent an hour on a clogged toilet. I hate these low-flush contraptions. I took a good look in the tank, and see that I could extend the overflow pipe and probably gain an extra gallon of water per usage. The float mechanism would have to be replaced, but I saved an old one when we remodeled the bathrooms. Afterward, since the rain settled the dust, I was able to mow some areas with a lot of dead grass growth. Today I will use the small battery powered mower and catcher to shred some of the many leaves that have fallen, in order to use them as compost and mulch.

I didn't spend a lot of time out in the train shed yesterday, but it was a good time. Yesterday I received a package of vehicles from a fellow Coffee Shop regular that were out of his era and the price was right.

Nine semi's with trailers, 10 single vehicles, and 4 cars w/trailers. There are duplicates which I knew in advance, but they can be placed on different levels in different aisles and not be noticed.

Many are Hot Wheels but are all 1/87. Not the greatest detailing, but I also knew this and I intend to use most in parking lots and other locations that are some distance from the aisle.

Mikey - Great plan for the model railroad club. You may have posted about that very thing in the past. It's too bad that it wasn't successful.
Congratulations on the NMRA achievement.
Curt - Belated Happy Birthday.
Sherrel - It is my belief that I can never get "too much"" sleep.

Everyone here have an awesome day.

Good morning from 59f degrees in So. Central WIsconsin. 78 later! While the WeatherChannel app says the highest chance of rain is at 15% I will though promise rain today. The grandson has his first “Fall” season soccer game at 1 today. Yes, I will be going and it will rain during the game.

The girls will be flying in around the time of his soccer game and the g/d and I will go pick them up. The soccer complex being played at is across the street from the local airport in Middleton, Wi.

Some weathering touch up work if needed on some locomotives and then I will bill them out. I did an inventory of projects yesterday to weather and including 3 custom built structures I am definitely busy through the US Thanksgiving and that doesn’t include any of my own stuff. Ever since I started letting my client list know in March I will weather locomotives I have been shocked by the increase. Facebook sales have really petered out and I will cut back putting my own stuff there. EBay I was talked into listing there this summer and I have 5 items there right now and since May I average just over 1 item sold per week

Off to swim…

enjoy the day

Well howdy there internet peeps.

No words wording yet today, but I did sleep in an extra two hours. It's cooled down enough that we're leaving the windows open, and a fan in on to create a cross breeze. Much better than our hot summer.

Got the new printer working, and did my first batch of orcs:

This is only a basic dialing-in on exposure. I'll work on it more later. But it's giving great detail so far. I do have to adjust my mental state to only printing half as much since the build plate (where the models attach) is roughly half the size of my old printer.

That means twice as many print jobs, but less mess to clean up if I get a bad print job and have to drain the resin from the tank and clean it.
Here are a few finished orcs. Happy with the details. Could be a bit cleaner, but it works well.

Wife is heading out with her sis to be "tourists in your hometown" and go see places they don't get to, like the water treatment plant, and some old churches, etc... So I'll be home without the car. Looks like I'll be babysitting the printer, and making orcs all day. ;)

Morning all,

A bit warmer this morning at 68°, but supposed to get to 84° later. Highs in the upper 70's most of the week. I will be sanding the spackle spots after lunch, as some were still drying. I forgot the staircase to the basement, so I hit those this morning when I went downstairs to start another load of laundry.

Already got the lawn mowed and edged, cut 2 large branches off the peach trees that the borders got into and got those hauled to the limb yard the city has for citizens to take this kind of stuff to. Also picked a couple peppers and cucumbers, but the tomatoes seem to have stalled ripening for now. Rain supposed to happen this afternoon, but I'll believe it when it happens. 30% chance of rain means there's a 70% chance it won't.

Gotta figure out something for lunch...

Willie- our club is like most social organizations with an antique membership, so we are trying to attract more younger people to the hobby and our club. We do get some interest from our holiday show at the science museum.
Nice pictures of your new fleet of vehicles. I'm sure they will soon be at home on your layout.
Figures and vehicles do so much to add life to a layout.

Afternoon All,

I have been getting fevers at night for 4 nights. Last night I had a bad one. I sweated so much the sheets were wet. I guess if I have another one tonight, I'll be heading back to the VA again. I really getting tired of the constant medical issues. I did a Covid test today and it was negative. I did a couple of things around the house today but couldn't get motivated to do anything on the layout.

Louis- Thank you.

Mikey- Congrats on the judging.

Joe- Thank you.

Willie- Thank you. Very nice collection of vehicles.

Troy- Great deal for you.

Terry- Poor Dino.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon, it's mostly sunny and 91.
I just happened to look at a list of installed programs on my laptop, and I noticed that Google has taken it upon itself to add a bunch of additional apps and programs during one of its "updates". There were no less than 6 additional apps it had installed in the last few days that I hadn't given it permission to. Among others, it had installed Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, and Youtube. I went in and manually uninstalled them, and I'll be watching to see if it re-adds the in a future update. And Alphabet wonders why people think they do shady stuff with their personal data.

Something good-ish on the model train front. I have a pair of diseasels that have missing air horns, and I was able to locate a couple of RS3Ls from that online auction site, and they arrived yesterday. While I was waiting for my delivery, I decided to see if I could install them, although temporarily. The horns are light grey, and one needs to be harbor mist, the other basic black. I'll need to paint them before permanent mounting. It's good I checked, because they are mounted on extensions for mounting in a different location than on top of the cab. When I did a test-fit, the horns stuck up a scale 2-3 feet over the cab. To say they look odd is an understatement. I'll need to trim the mount down to a reasonable height before painting them, but I do have them.

Curt: Hope you can quickly get over whatever is causing you so much grief. The night sweats are reminiscent of what I had last year. (Mine were from pneumonia). To me, it appears that the Medical Community has become very risk adverse over the last three plus years, and is only focused on a group of, (dangerous), viral diseases, and no longer considers bacterial infections when diagnosing symptoms. That doesn't help the patient when they come down with something initially treatable, but not on the check list. Hope the VA Doc finds the problem and you feel better.
