THIS WAS ON THE QUORA FEED TODAY!
I thought it interesting!
What is the most controversial play in baseball history?

….Jackie Robinson….steals home in Game 1 of 1955 World Series.
Plate Umpire Bill Summers called Robinson safe which left Yogi incensed.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and margarittaville neighbors

It's Troy again...

Summer's last hurrah here in the lower midwest. Going to be HOT for a few days. Then we're almost back to Sweater Weather. Almost. It will hit the week I'm sweltering in Tampa Florida (Mid Sept)

Turned on the bird channel on the U-tubz for the fuzzbutt. He's grumpy that he can't get them.

Need to get the fingers warmed up for some wording of words as I describe the magical cruise ship our sleuth is on. A bit like the Queen Mary, and a bit like the Jewel Class after a refit.

Tonight's dinner is likely to be my baked beans (sweet and tangy) cooked on the kamado over a bed of pulled pork from an earlier smoke. Hoping the wife makes corn bread. Or she'll tell me to make it since I've got the kamado fired up.

Back later.

Morning all,

Yesterday at work was busy, but it was all complete. Already been up over an hour rebuilding the backup jobs that I kind of hoped wouldn't fail, but they did. So once again, rebuilding the backup process from scratch. I'll have to do it again next week as we have a new machine that will back us up into the cloud, and replace what I currently have. But I've gotta have the backups. Good news is that I only need 8 machines instead of the 11 we used to backup. I'll lose another here in the next 3-4 months.

Flo: I'll have the Corned beef hash special and everyone's coffee is on me today.

Good Morning All. Clear here and 75°. Raining nearby which wasn't in the forecast, and it may actually drift over to here. Probably not though. I should go out and lower all of the car windows to tempt it. It didn't get near as warm yesterday as predicted and today it may reach 99°. Triple digits return tomorrow for probably another week before easing off.

Cool enough yesterday for a lot of outdoor activities. Too dry and dusty to run the mower/bagger over the fallen leaves, so I raked a few large piles for adding to the compost pile. Party yesterday afternoon at Bubba's house next door (1/4 mile west), so a lot of traffic on the road. At least his friends drive slowly which keeps the dust down. The bizarre neighbor who spent seven years incarcerated for shooting at a different neighbor's parked motor home that he thought contained spy equipment directed at him, installed two new surveillance cameras directly aimed at Bubba's backyard. Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black. So Bubba and friends stand in direct view and pee in his yard. I believe that eventually the cameras will become target practice from out of view. They're mounted on poles that extend about 3' above the house. It's all about the restraining order that Bubba has against him for spying (and making lascivious remarks) on his daughter; who has since moved out.

Train shed time yesterday was spent just running trains while I eyeballed potential new projects. I could just look at my list though.
How about some loaded flat car pictures from the archives today?

That last one needs weathering still. These are all on "run-thru" trains as I have no facility to unload, yet!

Sherrel - Echoing what Terry posted about Eric, that's what did my younger brother in. Started with a sore throat that never went away and four years later when he could no longer swallow, he finally went to a doctor. Inoperable stage 4 throat tumor.
Curt - The Woodland Scenics barbed wire fencing has been a game changer for me. For years I tediously drilled tiny holes in painted toothpick pieces and strung thin wire through them. Now it's just drill holes for the posts and go.

Meanwhile, the rain south of here disappeared, although it was on the radar for over two hours.
Everyone have a great Sunday and keep the grills and smokers going.

Good morning. Wake up today was 9:15am and I am still exhausted. Pillow time was 11:45last night with tossing and turning till 2:25am when I over medicated to stop the sinus flooding. I have Covid tested a few times and I will again today.

We hit 79f degrees for the high yesterday but there were no clouds and a super bright sun.Today it’s supposed to be 98 and there is not a cloud in the sky. Today the grandkids are hosting a pool party here as I head off to volleyball on campus. The son in law and 4 of his friends are in charge, the wives, mothers and girlfriends have the day off. Just in case though I hired the normal life guard contingent. The twin neighbors and 2 of their life guard certified friends. All four are heading off to different colleges tomorrow which will be interesting, especially for the twins. So a bit more pocket money for them and they are happy to do it. We will miss them, all good smart young ladies

Breakfast time for me. Flo could I get a menu without any yogurt on it?

OK - You two now have my attention - thanks!

It didn't take long, someone posted on FB later this afternoon that he was wasting away on mougue-a-rita ville.

Too soon!
Karl - Sad, but still have to laugh!

My breakfast 4-5 days a week since 1/2022 has been yogurt and granola. It was an easy way to start the day with my carb and sugar counts but it does get boring. I vary the yogurt between, blueberry, cherry and vanilla. The granola is the Bare Naked brand and there are 5-7 flavors I buy depending on sale pricing. Boring but a decently heathy start to the day. I do miss toast though

Afternoon All,

Slept in this morning getting up at 7:30. After breakfast I did several chores then headed to the train room. I decided to widen the one gate because I want a mini scene of a pickup and a couple of guys dropping hay bales. After modifying the gate, I placed 3 ducks on the pond, the water pump and a pallet next to it. Next up is making some more trees.

Dad is taking us to supper tonight.

Liver = 🤮

Troy- I hope you had luck wording the words.:)

Willie- Great loads.

TomO- My favorite is Strawberry.

I hope everyone has a good night.
