The therapist spent most of the time massaging my lower back and legs, my muscles are extremely tight...and limited me to lower back stretches. I returned home to an early lunch, then spent the bulk of the afternoon napping and using a heating pad. I have three sessions scheduled for next week, and I imagine it will be more of the same. I see the Doc on 3 October, and we will go from there. Not happy with the regression.
No shots Boris?

Not yet...I expect a few after I see the Doc on Monday a week. So far everything has been the conservative treatment. The right knee needs replacement, just a matter of time. The ankles TBD. the Back??? That's another specialist later in October... Suddenly, every freakin joint is falling apart. Beginning to wonder if that has anything to do with the Haz Mat Dump fire in 1978. https://www.firefighterclosecalls.com/firefighter-history-2-2-3/

Good cold stylus on the IPhone typing morning. We are in Struegon Bay, Wi. for a few days depending on weather. The daughter’s place is nice, right on the water. We had a place here for 7 years after Terry’s dad passed but no one wanted to come up here so we sold it. The daughter’s place is maybe 5 miles from there! Go figure!

High today 57f degrees but the wind chill will make it feel cold all day. Terry I think is having after effects from the bee/wasp sting and shot on Mackinaw Island. She actually let me drive even after we crossed the Mackinaw Bridge. That was the plan but we skipped Saulte St Marie, Mi. and the Soo Locks because she wasn’t feeling right. She doesn’t generally let me drive her baby(it’s a midnight blue Hurus) but she wasn’t going to drive the bridge. That was an experience. Sort of scary as I don’t like heights but with water underneath it was strange. Hands on wheel fighting the wind looking straight ahead. Like I drive in the Rockies!

Miles per gallon is at 15.5! Price of premium in Michigan was $4.10 here in Door County it was $4.39 last night.

Hurricane watchers and worriers! May you all be safe, the power stay on and everything moves away from you.

Good Morning! - from a place where the birds are already picking off the Mountain Ash berries and flying south from. Birds are smart.

I suppose Willie is travelling for a holiday, Gary is getting swept away with Fiona, Sherrel seems MIA along with Karl; Joe say's he's falling apart and Louis won't retire and sit down. Mel will be going broke, trying to pay for the upkeep on this place with less customers.

Yesterday, I pencilled in some roads; Main Street in particular. 5" wide takes up a-lot of real estate, but, it's gotta have the opposing driving lanes and parallel parking. I'll have sidewalk on both sides, with the retail buildings on the south side left to the imagination.
My first attempts at making sidewalks (shown) will not be used.

This is going to be the B/A service station with OK used cars, just like what was in my hometown at one time:

I've decided to make the ramps over the crossing out of balsa. That's what I'll be doing today. Might try pouring the drywall mud road, as well. Just to see how it's going to work.
This winter should prove to be a busy modelling season. I have lots of canyon, rail bridge, and structures to build. I don't care how cold it gets outside, but, I'm hoping I don't have to shovel too much snow.

Have a great day!

Good morning Y'all. 54° currently, at the reservoir and cloudy everywhere. Was 37° overnight at the reservoir, and 42° on the front porch. Guess this year, when they said Autumn begins, they meant it.

I'm surprised at the lack of traffic in the coffee shop. Two posts since my bedtime post...wow, what happened? Guess everyone is busy or ailing.
After two + hours of heating pad, I think I'm ready to get off my butt. Gotta keep moving.

Guy: Not for nothing, I don't see anything wrong with your sidewalks. Why won't you use the method again? All they need is some paint appropriate for the era, and locale you are modeling. They even have cracks on some of the blocks, what could be more realistic?

Tom O: Driving over long, high bridges over wide bodies of water in a wind is always fun, especially in sporty cars or top heavy SUVs. Had a 1969 Olds 4-4-2 that was hard to handle in a strong wind buff, grossing one of the Delaware River Crossings. Then there is the Millard Tidings, I-95 bridge over the Susquehanna which had some nasty crosswinds especially in winter. The worst was the Chesapeake Bay Bridge going toward the Eastern Shore on Hwy 50. Don't seem to have that kind of issue any more.

Have a nice weekend.

Morning all,

Knee some better this morning. Stiff and swollen, but less pain. Tolerable...

Currently 71° and clear, going for a high of 92°.

Tomo: I love driving across that bridge. It always reminds me of when I was a kid going on vacation to some rental cabins near Newberry. Imagine if you will 5 kids in the back seat of a '68 Buick Wildcat, mom afraid of heights and hated the bridge crossing. She had a snow brush that she'd whack us with when we got outta line. I'm the oldest and was 11 so the little brother was 9. We're in nearly the middle of that bridge when he asks, " What happens if the bridge breaks?". Never seen such a near beat down as mom couldn't get the stick into the back seat yelling "shut up, don't even think that ". Brother ducking, mom so upset she's hitting the package shelf, me laughing and ducking...it's still funny 50 years later, even to her.

Hit the farmers market this morning. A couple ears of corn, couple peaches and a jar of Strawberry jam.
No political party tents were set up there today despite early voting in Virginia started yesterday. I don't think the democrats would talk to me anyway. They know my face by now.

I bought an adapter to my Tesla Y model display screen that will enable it to swivel. Right now, it's in a fixed position. I would like to be able to turn it a little bit toward me while I'm driving. Instructions are written by a foreigner who might have seen an American newspaper once, so he got designated as the installation instruction writer. I found a video of the installation procedure so I'll follow that.

This is too good to keep to myself.

For years, New Jersey has had a property tax relief program generally known as the "Homestead Rebate". Over time, especially during years of budget shortfall the program became a political pawn, with income limits and lively debates as to whether or not renters, (who are not taxpayers), should be given tax relief...
Over time, the program became an offset, sent directly to the Township Tax Collector, effectively reducing the 4th quarter tax bill. by the amount of the rebate.

Now, lame duck Governor Murphy, a former Director at Goldman Sachs, comes up with a better idea. The rebate is discontinued, replaced by something called the Anchor Benefit. This year, Owners of owner occupied single family homes on October 1 of Tax Year 2019 Qualify. Murphy, also eliminated the direct tax credit in favor of a "rebate" check or direct deposit, and reinstated the "relief" for "renters".................

Receiving this "Anchor Benefit" is not automatic, one must apply, either by mail or electronically. I "qualified" to apply electronically. The process is repetitive, meaning you have to enter the same information several times during the process. I elected for direct deposit to my "Tax Escrow" checking account with my local bank, Toronto Dominion.

[It became TD back when Commerce Bank, of Cherry Hill, NJ and Bank North of Boston MA merged and were acquired by TD Bank]. One of the major principles of Commerce Bankcorp, was George Norcross (A very politically connected, and powerful individual who is credited with getting Kelly Ripa her slot with Regis Philbin, among other things).

Reason I include this is my request for direct deposit was denied, because I deal with a "Foreign bank". TD "South" is headquartered in Cherry Hill, NJ to this day. And shares the State of New Jersey's banking, with other "connected banks". George Norcross pretty much runs the state in the background.

So now, I will get my 2019 property tax rebate of up to $1500.00 sometime next summer, after the state Budget is passed on or about July 1, 2023, assuming I qualify under the state's income guidelines, and the post office delivers it to the my address, and not somewhere else.

This could only happen in Jersey...a State like No Other.

Got a box late yesterday, opened it this morning. We ordered a new toaster oven\air fryer\convection oven. We've had a similar unit for several years, which I've found very handy, but was too small. New one will handle a 13" x 9" casserole\ cake pan. It also handles a bigger fryer load, which means I can cook fries and the meat at the same time instead air frying and then having to still run the big oven. So far a big pan of brownies and lunch have been made. Oven can handle a 14" pizza, so we won't need to run the larger oven. Old unit is wanted by the boy who will give it a good home.

A family friend survived stage four cancer about 20 years back.
He was totally chuffed to get to play in the pro-am at Pebble Beach today. Spyglass Hill yesterday, where the two went nine under (T23). He knows Pebble a lot better, and they are currently tied for second, just one stroke back (Paul Ferguson).
Just tearing it up today. Six under on the day, through eight holes. A pace better than any other pairing so far.

It is SO great to see someone you know have this kind of success. Thrill of a lifetime for him. :D

If they finish T10 (or T10 and ties (not sure)) they get to play on Sunday. Wow.

Good Afternoon All. Here I am at Gulfport MS, at some hotel trying to get used to my wife's laptop. Trip was mostly uneventful, the only two disturbed drivers were within the first hour in Dallas. Lane changing without looking or giving a signal! Speed limits were pretty much ignored by every driver across all three states, I was able to pretty much go at 85 mph the whole way while on the Interstates, all but 12 miles. It's time for a brief nap before supper which we haven't decided where that will be. I'll get off the computer so my wife can explore on a big screen.
I'll be back later.

I play a lot of golf, never played Pebble Beach though, but I did caddy for Tom Watson right after he beat Jack Nicklaus there in 1982. It was a charity golf tournament on a Monday and his caddy had Monday's off. They super of the course ask me to caddy I said, OK.

Move South, my next-door neighbor moved there a few months ago. I'm all for moving, my wife's not. I figure I would save about $6,000.00 in taxes and $4,000 in fuel oil. George

Caddied for Trevino, Palmer, Aaron, Moody and quite a few others while in college and working the bag room at Midlothian CC outside Chicago. Caddied in 5 Western Opens at various Chicago area clubs when they were still using the local caddies. Worked the bag room during 2 others. My 1st pro at Midlothian in the Western Open was Ron Cerrudo and he finished 5th behind Billy Casper. Met Tom Watson as he cashed his 1st pro check at Midlothian his 1st tourney.

Played golf 3 days a week after college till the daughter was born 8 years after college. When working at the club in the Summer played everyday. But could never get below a 3 handicap. Couldn’t then and still cannot putt. Literally a 2’ putt was an adventure. My boss, the head golf pro, tried so hard over the years to help me! Never worked…

I have played Spyglass but never Pebble.

Good memories
TomO

Ya gotta have some excitement Willie. Take the car out and run through the town center on the sidewalk doin about 50. That'll give people enough time to get outa the way.
I thought about skinny dipping in the hotel pool, but there were a few kids under 12 in there when I got back from dinner.
There doesn't appear to be any sidewalks in Gulfport MS, at least in the end of town that we're staying at.
