Good morning to all political commentators and thinkers of scale models. A great night last night on Campus where the University of Wisconsin and the U of Florida women played volleyball.

A record for a regular season match. We have now been part of 2 of these. In 2017 over 16,000+ watched UW Womens hockey play here and set the Womens NCAA indoor hockey record. The game was a sellout but they only count the ones that showed up.

The defending 2021 NCAA Badgers ran into a tremendous team. Lost the 1st 2 games in a rather convincing matter. Totally unexpected, then won game 3 though 28-26 where they showed that heart of a champ. Then destroyed Florida in game 4, 25-16. The match final game was not to be and they lost 15-13. But what a raucous loud crowd, especially game 3 where they came back from 8 down when the crowd realized everything had changed. It was great

trains and a trip, I started putting the straps on the downspouts after I had the warehouse facade building prepped for painting. Now it should be done painted, lights glued installed and placed on the layout hopefully when we return Wednesday. The plan is for the 3 cars I am weathering to be done Sunday.

We leave Monday morning for the Ford Presidential Museum and return Wednesday. This will be Presidential Museum #9 with Eisenhower‘s in Kansas due on the next trip to Texas either in November or next April. My sister then has medical tests Thursday and Friday. President Ford’s is the only setup where the library and Museum are not together. His library in on campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The Museum is in Grand Rapids. Except for Lincoln’s Library all other Presidential libraries are for research and appointment only. So no need to visit the lobby of that! The trip orginally included Cooperstown and Cleveland but with my sister here, just the Museum and on Mackinaw Island for 1 night.

balance, the PT has me standing in the kitchen near the counter tops. Stand on 1 foot keeping the foot level to the knee of the opposite leg and if need be reach out with 1 finger on the countertop to find your balance then let go. Hands at the sides then Hold for 30 seconds. Then the other foot. I do this 10 times each leg and 2 times a day. It seems to be helping. The other thing I do every other day is jump rope for 15 minutes. Positively this has helped me. What a joke when I first started but I am very upright jumping now. I have been doing both since the end of July

to the weathering bench, no Farmer Markets this morning

Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 73°, still no rain and lower to mid 90's for a high for the next ten days.

Thanks to all who commented on or reacted to the food trailer update; Chad, Guy, Dave B, Patrick, Tom O, Karl, Hughie, Mikey, Joe, Curt, Snowman, Sherrel, Chet, Smudge, Rick, OB Ken.

About all that I did in the train shed yesterday was to install the chain link fence between Ramone's Salvage and Farmco Supply.

Those metal blocks supporting it will be removed today after the CA is dried overnight.
I also did some under layout maintenance regarding loose and dangling wiring. Next up are the parking lot stripes at 7-11 and I will open that large package of WS trees that I bought Tuesday.

Those who follow me, already know how much I hate making trees.

Tom O - In case you need further info on the figures, here it is.

Chet - Best of luck with the surgery. As I recall, it's Monday?

Everybody have a great Saturday.

Good Morning!

First of all, Happy Birthday, Sherrel!

She's right up there in my Four Most Evil People I have Ever Encountered list.
Joe - I laughed when I read that. In the past, I've considered maintaining a stash of wooden stakes. I'm not the kind of person who could be allowed work in any mental health ward for the criminally insane. I know exactly what demons are. My ex-wife is one.

I tried working on the layout abit yesterday, but, was interrupted by the G-kids coming over. Settled the house deal with my son, and my neighbour and I also settled the terms of home transfer. My son and his family move into the new 1969 model home on November 1.

At 7ish pm last night, two shots sounded through the dark not too far west. I know darn well the poachers are out shooting the tamer deer that come into town. These are not hunters, in my view. I think of them more as criminals, and I hope the fish cops were on their toes.

Sorry folks. No photos today.
Since it's wet outside, I should be able to get some layout work done and take some photos for my next post.

Have a great day!

Good morning all, including those that have been censored!

Heavy rain off and on so far, great for me getting some stuff done with the train. First there is all the freight cars that have had couplers fall off, I notice the ones with screwed in covers are fine (big surprise)

Willie - I don't mind making trees, however still only have 2 on my layout. I must admit, some of the pre made ones are really nice! The chain link fence is super realistic!!!

This is our morning, the rain doesn't show up real well:

My computer is super fast this morning, not sure what happened, it usually crawls on Saturday's

Here is the group of cars I am starting on today:

IMG_2653r.JPG

I will clean off the glue surfaces with the fingernail file and re-do. Don't feel like doing the screws on all these. Haven't located the parts box with all my little screws and coupler parts yet.

IMG_2659r.JPG

I put some weathering powders on the trucks also did another Alcohol India ink treatment to bring out details on this refrigerator car (above)

I trimmed off the brake lines, too. On all these truss rod cars, I have not lost any of the threads on the undercarraige. Funny all the other stuff that falls apart, yet these have remained secure!

I was going to say more but better zip it

Good morning, all! Woke up to a very sticky muggy morning. 90% humidity and nary a breeze. The Astros clinched last night. Alvarez had a 3 homer night. Can you imagine, his wife, his parents and brother were in the stands. He had just got them out of Cuba and this is the first time his parents and brother get to see him play pro ball.

Today the Conductress and the Hobo celebrate 56 years riding life's rails together. Our train left the station at 10:00 AM on this day in 1966. Yes, there were some shaky bridges and dark scary tunnels, but here we are 56 years later. Three children, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. There were some turnouts we should have taken, and a few we took that maybe we shouldn't have taken, but we sit here together, getting old and rusty.

STAY SAFE

LATER

Good morning. 73°, off a low of 54°, and another Sunny day with the winds shifting to the SE.

Have to hang some winter coats out on the line to air out, while we decide which ones we take to the "Duchess" and which ones get tossed.

Best wishes for successful surgery, Chet.

Happy Birthday, Sherrel.

Guy: I think, I will obtain a supply of wooden stakes to keep handy...

Villanova plays Army today at West Point. Go Cats Go!

The Orioles, blew a lead, and lost to Toronto in last night's installment of the "Battle of the Birds". Guess I should accept the reality that they are NOT! going to make the AL Playoffs, much less the ALCS. :(

Willie: I see Ramon's car is parked by the fence. Great job. I hate making trees also, I also hate ballasting, but I gotta do it sooner or later.

Letter Carrier just delivered my new Tangent Coil Steel Gondola, along with Coils and extra hoods. This is somewhat of a surprise, as of last night according to tracking, the parcel had not been picked up at the point of origin. ;) Good surprise!

Dave: Censorship is a wonderful thing, where one person who disagrees can anonymously silence any discussion they do not approve of. It also creates an atmosphere where no one is sure who that individual may be...there are no usual suspects...

Gotta go, got stuff to do...Have a great day.

Guy you are right poachers! We have trespassing and out of season hunters on our property. Depending on the season, say deer season The Department of Natural Resources the wardens they come right out. Duck, not so much and other bird seasons, they are not interested.

When we spot them with the drones we block their vehicles in if on our property and call the County Sheriff. If we have the vehicle and proof of them trespassing they will arrest them. Most times we can‘t get good enough proof but for them to get the vehicles back, we’ll that is another story
