Good Morning All. Clear and 60°. Cooler day in store today, high of just 89°. I don't know why since the wind is out of the south and no cloud cover is expected! Warmer nights starting tomorrow.
Meant to mention that I saw gas at $2.99/gal at a couple of places Tuesday night. I'll have a more local update after going on the weekly grocery trek today.
Yesterday was a bit of a bust, as I went back and remowed part of the yard from less than a week ago. Grass is growing just a bit too quickly. I also cut up the last three major branches that I pruned from trees last January, Bur Oak which makes good firewood. There is about 9 days worth of heating wood there to be added to the woodpile whenever.
Thanks for the reactions and comments regarding the Air Park post yesterday;

Not much went on out in the train shed yesterday. I unpacked all of the booty from the train store.

Unseen in this photo are a few bottles of paint and 25 pair of Kadee #148 couplers.
One item is these passengers from Walther's.

I will be using them as drivers in vehicles. I'm tired of painting Preiser figures and then cutting the legs off. This is the first time that I had seen this offering.
Another interesting find is these food trailers, also from Walther's.

There's plenty more to display, but I need to go now and coordinate our grocery lists.
Guy - Postman wanted an extra $15? Seems odd to me.
Noted model railroad author Tony Koester always advised the formula 2x+1 for railcar storage. "x" is what you think you need.
Joe -
One of the advantages of wearing programmable hearing aids. My normal setting filters out TV noises.
My whole working career was at a company that withheld taxes and SS the entire time. Made it easy to coordinate SS benefits. My retirement was delayed by a few years due to the "Great Recession" and the over 6 figure loss in the 401K. Made most back in 2011.
Ken (D&J) - Back to your cousin and SS; the SSA started sending me Notice of Benefits as early as age 50, so I could plan and adjust retirement savings. Some people, obviously like her, either ignore the information or don't understand it. It's not like she didn't know what the future was going to bring.
Terry - Rail strike or not (apparently not), we tend to keep a month supply of canned, frozen and non-perishable stuff all of the time. Everything except beer which I keep a six week supply.
Hoping that the finger heals quickly.
Everybody have a great day.
