Have a great day! ;)

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those feeling it in their bones today

It's Troy again...

And Lord Fuzzbutt is definitely feeling it. Caught him peeing on the rug by the front door yesterday.

Honked me off until I did the math. Cats can definitely count. He knows the difference between three treats and four treats.

But he wasn't counting. His bones and joints were. It's been two and a half months since he got his Arthritis shot.

Poor guy.

Wife would be grumpy too if she didn't get her arthritis meds for 10 weeks.

So I woke up at 3am thinking I should put the third litter box on the lower landing. That's only half a flight of stairs down to it.

I'll call this morning and see how fast I can get him in for his shot. But losing half his front teeth two months ago really threw his vet schedule off. The vet didn't want to give him the Solensia with all the other meds, and then I forgot to schedule it when he had digestive troubles. And more meds.

I have a dental cleaning then a haircut this morning. Maybe after lunch they will have time for him.

As for now, it's time to make the coffee and eat the yogurt.

Good morning all!

Happy Hump day!

Our stretch of beautiful late Oct weather continues again today. Currently its 43F. High today is Going all the way up to 74F under mostly sunny
skies.

Have some laundry to do this morning, dishwasher to empty, and mid-week vacuuming. Nothing much else planned. No games tonight so it
should be a quiet day and evening. Hoping anyways!

have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

Already had my first call of the day, which was actually from my last call yesterday. Employee got locked out and needed a password reset, so a second one placed the ticket with no phone number to call the employee with the problem. I emailed back through the ticketing system late yesterday with my contact info and got the problem resolved. They are both in positions that don't require a lot of computer engagement, so it's easy to forget a password that need to be changed every 60 days.

Not sure what the rest of the day will bring, the joys of the IT department. We have a compromised VPN key and need to get them changed. That's always fun...But I haven't had to change them very often.

Currently cloudy and some light rain in the area, 56° in Doo Dah with a high later 76°.

Good Morning All. Clear and 54° this morning, should hit 80° later on. Another average fall day for us. Early forecast shows a 24% chance of rain next Tuesday!

Primary Care doctor visit yesterday was uneventful, the usual blood draw but that was about it. Noted while driving around that regular gasoline was mostly at $3.39/gal. I don't understand the diesel thing though. I just looked up the national average which shows $6.28/gal, meaning that a lot of places are higher; but all around here it is in the $5.45/gal range. So some places must be really high. Hello California?

Laundry this morning and general cleanup today. Plenty of outdoor tasks to keep me busy for the rest of the day.

Didn't spend as much time out in the train shed as I had planned yesterday, and I did not complete the shingle roof yet. Two more rows to go, one at the top of each side. Always the hardest due to the amount of trimming. Don't remember if I took an update picture or not; but the camera is outside and I don't want to get my house shoes wet from the heavy dew.

Tom O - Important to take care of yourself as well. Continued prayers and positive thoughts for Terry and you.
Terry -
I guess humidity is subjective. I noticed it wasn't very humid here this morning. 81% outdoors, 78% indoors.
Got to agree with you there. I felt that it was a bit humid here yesterday at 54%.
David - I had to chuckle yesterday about your "flat land" comment.
Troy - Here's a sobering thought. How many times have you not caught LF peeing on the floor???

Keyboardist/bandleader Manfred Mann is 86 today. The late journeyman guitarist Steve Cropper (Booker T & the MG's, Blues Brothers and session guitarist at Stax Records) was born on this day in 1941. Blues guitarist Elvin Bishop is 84 today. And finally, Chicago's horn player, Lee Loughnane, is 80 today.

Everybody have a wonderful Wednesday.

Kind of like seen below? I think it’s from the site. This is Mobile Safari. Got one again today before I logged in. After login it went away and came back a few screens later and now is cycling through various topics at the bottom of the screen.

Yup if you are talking the 'Order Coffee Beans' Pop. Guess that it could be coming from this site as I have not seen it on other sites I get to. Haven't seen one for 2 days now - go figure.

Hello. I’m awake feeling a heck of alot better than I did heading to bed last night. Somewhere in the middle of the night the throat stopped draining, the cough lessened and I got some sleep mostly in the propped up sitting position.

I’m in favor of putting back the I am himan check off box that disappeared from my log in last week. The system I thought was slow and I thought it was the hospital system but it’s not, it’s very slow here at home.

Terry called this morning and told me to stay home until she texts. Both the Pulmonary and Oncology Doctors have signed off releasing her this morning and she has the papers already for her after care at home. She is waiting for a Hospitalist who has the “final” say when she is released. A “Hospitalist” in my opinion is a money grab by the hospital for another Doctor to bill for services. A totally ridiculous thing and something that started to be a thing in Wisconsin medicine around 2005. Per Gemini it is a push by Insurance because patients were being released without a proper check off system of aftercare. I’ve never had the Hospitalist talk to me about aftercare the nurses have always handled that

So I will wait for Terry’s text

Once Terry settles in here at home I may visit the shop. I’m determined not to hover though I know I will be accused of it!

The house is clean and all dishes have been finished and put away after the dishwasher finished. I ran it last night at about 1/2 load just to have a new start this morning. I emptied it this morning. She said we will do our normal Thursday (tomorrow) breakfast/brunch run. That is also when the house gets cleaned by the service hired a few months ago after we moved into the new place.

After I got home last night I sat in her office and looked at the written procedure regarding our monthly bills. Yes she is that organized and has always been. She handles all the financials but wants me to start doing the weekly stuff. I haven’t paid a bill in years. Her portfolio is separate from mine and the house. It’s really the only thing we have not decided on. We’ve talked about it for years but no decision has been made regarding that. The daughter has said no many times and the son has his businesses so he’s out. Neither of us want a professional to handle it. Honestly I want nothing to do with it but will follow her wishes.

I know I’m rambling so thanks for being here

Agree about Human Check box. Gets pretty slow at times here too.

Hover: Ya need to do something like that while she is not right and getting better. Do it like the Hospital does: come in and check on her, do what is needed, SMILE and get out telling her to hit the buzzer if she needs/wants anything. Wait - do you have a buzzer? Cell will work. Will help you too as you can see progress even though it is tiny steps.

Your going to be at her beck and call just like I was with Nicki. She may feel guilty for all you are doing, but deep down she truly appreciates it.
You don't just recover overnight from anesthetic when you're older.

We had to deal with a rude, arrogant, s.o.b. "hospitalist" when Nicki was being treated for Osteomyelitis/Endocarditis /Hyponatremia (A trifecta of near death experience). He was good, but had no bed side manners. We later found out through a physician friend that "hospitalists", in that medical system, were paid (at that time) $3,000 per shift.

Good Morning All!
35F @ 79% partly

Off to CostCo, Wal*Mart, Chief's Store and probably Super 1. Our refer and freezer's are pretty bare. Not going to the Spo butcher shop today as we need to go that way Nov 5 for my Heart check, Maria's OB. Was amazing we both got an apt on the same day.

Having fun now! Last night I noticed Maria's phone had lit up and was in the regular screen ( not lock screen ) with things changing: sitting on the dining room table all by itself. Text was being entered into some app. I picked it up before I noticed the which app so no clue there as everything closed. I asked her what she had downloaded recently. Ya, some sort of PDF reader ( from Google play ) which is a real piece of work. When you open the app, it checks for new PDF's ( from somewhere ) and downloads them if wanted or not. Suspect this is the culprit that is doing the magic. Can not uninstall any App. If I go to Settings/App then choose the one I want to deal with, the manage page comes up for 2 seconds, closes, closes the App page and then closes Settings all by itself and goes to sleep. Also will not go into safe mode. Power button in the drop down no workie, so it is hold 2 buttons on the side of the thing until Poff. Maria is NOT happy with the aspect of a factory reset.

Think this is the 1st virus/whatever we have had since 1999. Remember 'Happy 99' with the fireworks? That one got me.

That's good news about Terry being released this morning. Glad you are feeling better too Tom. Amazing what a little antibiotic can do to give the white blood cells a kick in the pants and some extra help.

51°F at 0900 right now. Expecting 73°F this afternoon. We are locked in this current weather cycle for at least the next week to ten days. Mild temperatures running 6-10°F higher than normal, no rain, no wind, and lots of sun. I could stand this almost year around.

Hummingbirds all left for the season so I pulled the feeder and washed it down for next year. One day they were here and the next day they weren't. I really think they left while I was hospitalized last month or shortly after.

Grocery shopping done and waiting on delivery (on the way now). Listening to UP issue track warrants on the radio at this second. There are no signals at all on this main line until you get to Chester, so everything is verbal over the radio. There's a junction here too for UP and N&W and they share a half-mile piece of track before splitting off again. One line goes to the mine area northeast of here and the tracks cross a block up the street. I see both companies on this line though, both hauling coal drags, and N&W also pulling local freights of five to ten wagons.

Might spend some time outside today. Have a Timolol scrpt to pick up later and haorcut tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Servus!!

Tom O - Great news this morning. Good to read that Terry wants to get back on the somewhat normal routine tomorrow. I know that I always feel better once I get back o it myself...from vacations, holidays and medical visits. Continued best wishes to both of you.

Good morning and Happy Hump Day gang! 🐫🐪🐫🐪🐫🐪

50° and sunny, heading to a high 65°.

Pulled another pair of locomotives from the display shelves for liquidation at the Timonium show next weekend. A Bowser 2-8-0 and a Spectrum "Russian" 2-10-0. Thinning the herd a bit of engines that don't fit the future layout scheme.
