Fixed my window this morning. Back in Spring, I put in one of those springy metal strips that keeps a double-hung window open when the rope breaks that holds the counterweights. Except I put it in backwards. The spikes on the metal strip grabbed the window frame instead of the window opening and was moving with the window. It was not quite all the way under the window frame and the bottom part sticking out hit the window sill not allowing the window to close all the way.

I had to remove the window after removing the window guide strips to get that metal strip out of there. Next Spring I will make sure I install it with the spikes facing the window opening and not the window frame. All sealed up now with no air leakage.

Those two punched holes in the center have the metal spikes that grab the inside on the window opening and the bent spring keeps the window frame open wherever you want it. The nails are optional and are not really needed.

he fact that the parents of the shooter got off scot-free, even though the gun(s) belonged to his father. And they also claimed that they weren't aware of their son's mental issues. Enough said.
Back about 10 years ago, maybe longer, a young man selling school fund raiser candy door to door was found murdered in an area not too far from me. The perpetrator, was another young man, of similar age, that had been diagnosed with mental issues.that "could cause anti-social behavior".

After several days and an attempt by the County Prosecutor to charge the perpetrator's parents for negligent homicide, the family's defense attorney revealed that three days prior to the crime, the perpetrators parents were in Superior Court trying to get the court to commit the young man because of his "anti social behavior". The Judge refused to order the kid confined, stating for the record, "He looks like a fine young man to me." Three days later the fine young man killed another young man and hid him in a wooded area. Sometimes, nothing a parent does is enough.

Good Morning All and those with corrupt outlets!
35F @ 82% partly.

So after thinking about it for a few days, I don't think I am going to renew NPRHA as it is just not worth it. Ya, have been a member for quite a few years, but renewing just because I have done so for so long is not making sense anymo. Last issue was the 'Main Streeter' and that was it, besides the normal few pages of advertising.
GNRHS is 5 times what the NP is, so keeping up with that.

Oh, and I made it through the lack of MR withdrawals so that is working OkieDokie. Now to start RMC mag for a year to see ifn I like it. Had it many moons ago so we will see.

Afternoon.... Just came in from mowing, had to get it done before the frost/freeze tonight. In the past when I mow before a freeze it really starts putting the grass into dormancy for the winter.
Coffee Flo, need to warm up.

That is, in the beginning, you have a tent. You decided long ago not to allow camels inside the tent, because of how large they are, and how much trouble they cause. Then one day, one of the tent dwellers shows up with his camel, and even though it’s against the rules, he talks you into just letting the camel’s nose inside, so the camel know where his owner is, and won’t panic, thinking his owner has left him alone. After a time with no problems with the camel just having his nose in the tent, he sticks his head inside, so he can see his owner. That doesn’t bother anybody, either, so nothing is said. After a while longer, the camel stretches his neck into the tent, so his owner can give him the occasional pat or treat or drink of water. Again, nothing really bad happens, and nobody says anything. So, once again, the camel soon pushes his shoulders inside, then his mid-section, and finally, the entire camel is inside the tent, and suddenly is causing trouble. Other people see the camel inside, and bring their camels in, too. When you try to tell them no, they point at the camel that’s already there. Now, finally, you try to get the camel back out of the tent, and he ends up knocking the whole tent down on everybody.
Now, you not only have to get the camel out of the tent, you have to repair the tent, put it back up, and you also have the people that were in the tent when it came crashing down that have been hurt, and won’t come back.

That is why a seemingly innocuous post, picture, or meme that goes against the rules isn’t allowed.

Japan is all two prong. I had to specify 3 prong with ground. But they didn't do the ground part correctly since they don't know how to do that. Ridiculous. They should have their electrician's license pulled.
There is a reason the way Japan is. I’ll reply when I am home.

I’m at Kohls for an Amazon return. There were like 20 people im the Amazon line. Never saw this many even at Christmas (or after Christmas).

After this I have to go to the UPS store first and Amazon return. For some reason Kohls wasn’t an option on that one. (Made the next day).

Both returns are for Jandals or Jesus-sandals my daughter wanted. She wanted women’s size 8. The package is labeled size 8 but the sandals themselves are stamped size 7. So return and get a replacement. That’s the Kohls return. The replacement came the next day. Package marked made 8. Sandals marked size 8. But they’re exactly the same size. We put them sole to sole and they’re exactly the same. So return. That’s the UPS one. We tried to order a next size up (9) but the price was up about $2.50 so she’s waiting as she doesn’t need them quite yet.

I’ll reply about Japanese residential electricity later.

Terry,
Here, I'll make it easier for you.

The wire going to it is 14/2 Romex. I can only assume the builder used what they had to finish the job, and nobody called them on it.
With Romex 14/2 is two conductor plus ground. For other sorts of wire, like lamp wire, the ground isn’t included in the designation.

I’m not an electrician but I did build a house and wire some of it.
