I posted a cartoon yesterday about Ilhan Omar. I posted it for the humor value as it was not a hard core political statement of any kind, just the behavior of political parties in Washington, be it one party or the other.
I guess someone found it offensive as it has been removed.
I found it no more offensive than all the firearms pictures that are posted that support one political parties view on the second amendment over another political parties agenda.

John
I must have missed it. I had one removed last spring that I didn't consider political. You're probably familiar with the fellow in Central Texas who unknowingly ran in the primary for state representative in San Antonio and for mayor of Round Rock; and won both!

Happy Anniversary Karl

- Sorry about what you've had to live with. Unfortunately, as a 16yo I came across a neighbors daughter that had taken her life and I had to make the call to the authorities.

In other firearm news.....

Effective immediately, Ruger is ceasing production of its LCR, SP101, GP100 and Bearcat revolvers. The company plans to complete its final production runs of the following models for 2026: SR1911, LC Carbine, PC Charger, PC Carbine, LC Charger, Redhawk, Super Redhawk, Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, Single-Series revolvers, Vaquero, No. 1, 77-Series rifles, Hawkeye and Ruger Precision Rifle.

With this shift, Ruger's handgun product lines continuing into 2027 will consist of the company's LCP offerings, RXM, MAX-9, Security-380, Security-9, Ruger 5.7, Mark IV and 22 Charger. In its revolver line, Ruger will continue making its affordable Wrangler and Super Wrangler models. For rifles, remaining Ruger offerings will consist of the company's American Rifle and American Rimfire line, as well as the Ruger Precision Rimfire, Harrier, 10/22 and Mini-14 models.

Walther USA did the same thing early this year and shut down all production of the PP, PPK, and PPK/S for at least three years. Walther is tight-lipped about what is going on, but we are hoping to see them reintroduce the PP series in its original German-engineered specifications rather than the abominations that S&W and Walther USA have been producing for the last 20+ years.

I am also wondering if Walther USA will be attending SHOT this coming year as they have nothing to show unless it's from Germany. They manufacture nothing in the USA except the PP series of pistols. They do assemble imported parts from Germany into the PDP series of handguns, but these handguns are not proofed, have no datecodes, etc. I will never buy an 'assembled' Walther, so any future purchases will be through Earl's Repair Service who only deals in German Walthers.

I was never a big Narnia fan. Hearing that religious themes ran through it, more-so than Tolkien or Dune, wasn't what I wanted to read in my teen years. And seeing the uproar now about the voicing of Azlan, well, now I'm intrigued. Especially once I realized that Uncle Andrew was Daniel Craig. And the director (Greta Gerwig) has an intriguing resume.
The mere fact that Zeppelin is in the soundtrack intrigues me. I know, I'm a simple man.

I never read the books* nor had much interest in the prior movies (though I have seen some parts).

I understand about the potty breaks. I always get a seat on the end so I can slip out...

* (forgot to add this when originally posting) -- I may have read "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" with my son when he was in elementary school. He went to an online school for the first 5 years and I was his teacher and I vaguely remember we read it or parts of it. He's turning 24 in January so it was some time ago.

Kind of sad about Ruger ditching most of their iconic firearms. 10/22 and Mini-14 are staying. The Mini-14 is one that I find interesting is staying. I have not seen one in the wild for decades and I wouldn't think they'd sell many with all the other more popular semi-auto 223 style rifles on the market.

The funny and quite sad part is that a lot of people think that their Rugers are going to double in value.😶 There were millions of them produced. They ain't hard to find. The only ones that will have any appreciating value will be those that already have collector value. Flat latch Single Six, 10/22mag, 10/17mag, or the Blackhawk Buckeye combos come to mind.

Social Security benefits will rise 3.6% next year, the biggest cost-of-living bump since 2023. For the average retiree, that works out to about $75 more a month, lifting the typical check to roughly $2,170 starting in January.
You can bet your sweet ass Medicare will eat 3.2% of that raise.

John
That's good. I wonder why only 75 million people, though. I would think more than that are getting a check.

Unless it is compensated by an increase in Medicare premiums, resulting in a decrease in net!
