Running Bear's October 2026 Coffee Shop

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

76° and overcast. 0.07" of rain earlier. Temperature did reach 80° for a short while.

We are gradually reducing our clutter while waiting for the closing date to be set.

Meanwhile, the new domicile is taking shape. (For some reason, yet not determined, I cannot upload either the photo or the video).

Have a nice day.

Both my state and federal taxes are filed for the year 2025!!

Now I need the TV remote. I was watching movies, now I can resume watching baseball! The movies were good background noise, no ringing in my ears. Baseball comes with a little ringing, because it is not background noise.

Louis,
You've been following the playoffs better than I this year. Are the Brewers playing well enough to knock LA out? TB and Milw. would be an awesome WS.

I went in this morning to load another one to start Sunday. There were only 2 left! They sold the rest for $2800 each since last Friday.

Would be nice.

I think my brother shot a G36 while in Afghanistan. Not as his issued weapon of course. He was a public affairs captain who was told to make himself useful to anyone who asked (from any allied force) and got himself attached to a German general (and his replacement). He went out with some German patrols and got to go to their armory and practice range. He also got to shoot an MG3 (postwar modern version of the MG42).

The U.S. investigated a version of the G36 as a new weapon some time ago. Very highly modified. Called the XM8 during testing. Not adopted.

The XM8 was a great firearm. Unfortunately HK prices their stuff, for .gov contracts, like they were selling to the civilian market.

They are not only good enough, but they are also doing it.

I spent some time before the end of the season watching the Brewers. They are the most complete team in MLB.

Can the Brewers get past the Dodgers, absolutely! Will they? I don't know, its baseball anything can happen!

It will be interesting to see how the veteran Blake Snell does on the mound for the Dodgers tonight. Robert Gasser of the Brewers will have his say in the game as well. It all begins with starting pitching. The Brewers know better than most it doesn't end there.

Good morning all. After the last set of pics, I forgot what I was going to say.

I guess not much planned. Gotta pop the return loco in the mail and hope they turn it around quickly. £10.25 / $14 to ship to UK. Japan post did change their available package types, so it took a while to figure it out. The e-packet light is no longer available so I had to update my cheat sheet.

Have a good day.

I'm back online...

Had to ice the knee after PT, but not because of PT. Too many trips up the stairs to wrestle with the laundry.

had a nap, then discovered that while I was in gaming burnout last winter, there were drama-lamas all over the discord after some players got banned for semi-stupid reasons from the competitive circuit. Partly their fault, party over-reaction.

I went online and it two hours of reading/searching... reading some more... more searching.... etc to get the full story.

For dinner we went to the midwest tex-mex place, where they know our orders and just ask what we're drinking since that changes based on the wife's desire for a margarita.

Off to the game store tomorrow evening in Warsaw IN.

Currently have this in the CD player:

Good evening folks, rain here all day, the weather change with dropping temps really attacked my back. Worked today from 9 to 4 then came home took meds, put heat on the back and rested. Did not make it to church class, will do it online. Work again tomorrow, will see how long I go as we were busy today with Straight Wall Cartridge Season starting Saturday and our first order of suppressors arriving Tomorrow or Friday.
You guys have a good night,

Premature post, but I'll assume I'm right: GREAT to know this collection is out there at all. Many thanks.

I'm going to offer this next post...mine...as a general apology, whether behind or (hopefully) ahead of such time it might be needed.

I, more than occasionally indulge myself with an "adult beverage." Sometimes before, sometimes after logging in here. The typos are almost never representative of it. I have fat fingers, too fat...and tremors too (probable Parkinson's disease according to one of my professionals)...and they aren't representative of my actual train of thought, in any given moment. I can't easily type or text what I'm thinking about or want to comment about. So I, all too often, EFF it up.
I HOPE the rest of you gents can understand that and will accept it. Haven't wanted to speak about any of this until now, but it's coming more-and-more obvious.
