And my day is not yet complete.
Long story short, I had to take the day off from work, and go to my bank to rescind my permissions for ACH payments from my old bank for my accounts. The new bank started double-dipping my payments, and the only way to stop was to go into a branch in person, and submit the request in person, in writing.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at 65F and currently 80F and windy. Started out with chores then the annual visit from the bug guy was today. Supposedly, the stain I've been waiting on is out for delivery, but I haven't seen it yet. Tomorrow is painting stairs trim. I won't be in Friday or Saturday because of tiling at daughter's house.

Smudge- Great videos.

Willie- The shark would have been neat to see. Impressive layouts. I really think our population in general is dumbing down for various reasons that I won't get into. I see it every day when I have to interact with workers.

Joe- I'm sorry I missed the pie, apple pie is my favorite.

Karl- Nice layout scenes.

James- Great photos.

Terry- Bureaucracy lives on and see what I posted to Willie.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon! I hope you all have a good day.

This is why I never authorize automatic ACH withdrawals from my bank accounts. I manually pay stuff (some through ACH but I have to kick each payment off). I use credit cards to pay everything and then use the credit card bank's payment option to pull the payment from my bank, in a non automatic way. If the credit cards I use to p ay everything get abused its not my money and the issuing bank will deal with it.

The "new" and only way here is to set everything to autopay from your bank account. Period. No exceptions. You want internet service? Set up autopay, or don't apply.
You want car insurance? Set up autopay, or go somewhere else, we don't want you. You want a bank account? Set up direct deposit for your paycheck, and at least 4 autopay drafts a month, or go somewhere else, we don't want you. My rent has also got to be autopay, or I can find another place to live.
Oh, and the autopay for my car payment and personal loan had to be autopaid, or no loan. And because it was from an out of state bank that didn't charge monthly fees, I had to pay a payment fee every month. Things have sure changed here since I lived in Tampa last.
So, to review:
Car insurance: Autopay or nothing.
Bank: Auto Deposit and auto transactions, or nothing.
Car loan: Autopay, or walk.
Personal loan: Autopay, or beg for money.
Cell phone: Autopay, or prepay by autopay, or no phone.
Internet service: Autopay or nothing.

Dude, you need a different bank or something. I have NOTHING on auto pay! Insurance, car loan, mortgage, cards and utilities.

Good afternoon, each and every one of you. Still warm and humid here. Those in the know say it's going to get cooler, we'll see. I did get some train running time in today. Me thinks a little track cleaning may be due. I'm still playing / learning this AI image thing using the latest Edge browser update. If you have it, you really need to try it. I have learned to use the word "realistic" in the description of what I am asking the image to have. The more descriptive you are the better.

EVERYTHING here is autopay, because none of the transients pays their bills, and the companies here have gotten tired of being stiffed. That way, when your autopay doesn't go through, whatever it is gets shut off instantly until you pay up.
If I didn't want to freeze my ass off every Winter, I'd ask if your stealership was hiring.

Since you mentioned it over the weekend, I have been playing around with it as well.

Your right about it really helping with scene planning, and It will only get better as evolves.

Do you at least get a discount for all these auto-pays?

Our cell phone, insurance, and internet all give a discount for signing up for autopay.

Amen. The only thing I had on autopay (through a credit card) was my T-Mobile service and after they announced I had to move to an ACH or debit based autopay I dropped them. No flippin way I would agree to any bank account based autopay. (I do have direct deposit of paychecks but that is putting money in).

Use a credit union. Most banks offer worse service with higher fees than credit unions. Of course there are exceptions and IIRC Terry has a credit union that is raping him But that is the exception.

I use a credit union, and I maintain accounts with TD, because each one has unique rules/fees/short comings and quirks. Over all, I have things set up to my advantage. I also have a long term relationship with both institutions. I pay mostly everything via direct debit, not auto pay.
I understand the plight of business down there, but business has ways of determining how much of a default risk each client may be. it's not one size fits all. In some areas, business takes advantage of new arrivals from out of state. It happened to me when I came to Jersey. It takes a while to catch on to the local scams, and practices.
One thing is that there is no such thing as an "Out of State Bank". any longer...Hell, My bank is based in Toronto, P.Q., eh? My CU is in Pennsylvania, and my Insurance Agent is in Virginia. Most Inter bank transfers are free, and can be accomplished overnight. Some banks operate Internet only, I'm not sure I like that idea, yet is rare when I go to my local branch, I do everything on line.

My bank IS a credit Union. GTE credit union.
And if I want home internet, I HAVE to use T-Mobile, and I HAVE to have ACH bank account autopay. There is no other option, it's them or nothing, and they know it.

My only option for car insurance is Progressive, and it has to be autopaid. It's now $169 a month for the absolute minimum. If I want to go to another company, the next lowest cost is Geico, which is $429 a month, also autopaid. For a car that sits in my driveway, or is driven one mile a day to work.
