I did not realize that the Navel Museum had a terrorist attack?
Have you tried using your phone as a hotspot for your photos? Might be faster?
I don't remember all of the exact details regarding the terrorist attack, but many are HERE.

Phone hotspot? I'm just adding pictures from a computer folder to the forum via "drag and drop" method. On the next set I may try the "insert" function or "copy and paste" to see if either are quicker.

Here are a few more pictures from the Traintastic Museum that I visited Sunday.
This is another HO scale layout, which is actually an expanded version of one that they moved from the old location. Workers painting a lighthouse.

A big area here, like the old museum, is devoted to Lego. There are some Lego trains, but mostly just Lego construction.

Til next time, Adios

Most of my housemates sit in chairs on the beach all damn day long. I can take about an hour or so of that a day. One of the guys, who just finally retired in mid-September mostly sat in an easy chair inside and texted and visited old workmates and friends for most of the day.
Willie: I remember going on vacation, and being content to just park myself on a beach chair. But on other days,I toured old colonial era forts, and the Pensacola Museum. (Really liked Pensacola Beach). My work schedule / routine was wearing me out, and I literally needed to crash and do nothing. Other vacations touring old battleships and carriers, and managing to navigate old submarines without busting my head. Once rejuvenated, I had to explore. Since the China Virus, we have done nothing, and that makes me sad. Enjoy your vacation.

My target goal is to go back to 205 weight class, currently I am at 255. I should be able to make it by February 1st at the latest.
James: This time last year, I was around 205 @ 6'. Today, I weighed in at 150.6, a recent gain of 7lbs, from my low point of 143.6. Now that I have all new clothes, I don't want to gain too much but would be very comfortable at about where I'm at. Most of my weight was water, Lowering the sodium I consumed, and avoiding certain foods worked for me.
Good luck with the diet and exercise regimen. Enjoy the SD-40.

Sherrel: Last night, I slept through without the usual two wake-ups. First time in months. I don't have enough sense to watch a movie, I just lay there until I get tired of looking at the ceiling.

I spent last evening listening to the listless Phillies lose to the Diamondbacks. One more loss and their seasons over.

Last week, I had a call from Dr. Referral's office, advising me that my 10/26 appointment was cancelled, as the Dr.would be out of town from EOB 10/24 through 11/06. Today the "Appointment Bot called me to "confirm" the appointment. Apparently, the human who called me to cancel, never removed the appointment from the schedule... I did manage to verify that the appointment was canceled and have not re-scheduled it. Think it's time I moved on, although I don't expect better anywhere locally. Also, I really do not need a primary care physician, since he referred me to specialist for my medical issues, and I'm not in a managed care insurance plan so I don't need referrals to go elsewhere. Since the China Virus and related "hardships", the quality of medical care has deteriorated, or is that my imagination?

On my way to the train room for the afternoon. I have painting and scenery to work on.

Later, the Phillies last chance is on radio, and ESPN will be attempting a "Red Zone" type coverage of 16 different NHL games tonight. Caps @ Toronto @ 1800 starts it off.

Good morning gang!

42° and clear,, heading to 68° later.

We had a brief power outage Saturday, and the big TV in the living room refused to restart afterward. Through the miracle of the internet we have deduced the problem to the power supply board. Evidently this is an issue with Phillips TVs. After watching several how-to videos on power supply board replacement, parts were ordered last night. Stay tuned to find out if I spent $60.00 to save $700.00 or if I am gonna be $760.00 in the hole.
Karl, I watched the Samsung guy replace the mother board in my 75" TV.

The hardest part was laying it flat on the carpet to make it easy to remove the back cover. That was a two-man job.

I was surprised how easy it came apart and how few parts and wires there are inside. You got this!

Anybody taking bets, I'll put my money on Karl. I seldom bet, once every few decades maybe. I only bet on sure things.

Morning shop dwellers! This morn it was 34° F and steadily climbing back up to warmer temps. Currently 43° F. I started working on clearing my layout last night....still lots to do but I am satisfied with my progress. Removing all the boxes and clutter as part of my layout became a catch all for while. no more of that!

It's supposed to warm back up again into the seventies Thursday and Friday. Thursday I may take the day off and go golf with my lady friend. We have been dating now since July 22nd so far so good. Her grandfather was an engineer for the old D&H RR for 30 years. So she understands my passion for MRR that's a plus.

Next week I am approaching my celebration of another trip around the sun on Nov 2nd....a little bitter sweet because it is also Souls Day for the Catholics. My family will be going to mass that evening to pay respects for the loss of my baby sister last year and receive her cross that was on her casket during the funeral last year. My parents are still in heavy heart of course I am too. No parent should lose a child at any age, it sucks. So on that day I will be 55. Hence the bitter sweetness of that day. My lady friend and I will go out to dinner that evening and celebrate the next day. I will take the 3rd off.

I have started a new regiment in the fitness world after a 10 year hiatus. I started on October 1st. So here we are 24th day. I have mainly been doing cardio and dropped 8lbs already. I am walking 4 miles a day and right after walking doing the exercise bike as well up to 3 miles. I am fasting intermittently and am on a high fiber and protein diet. I will do another 2 weeks of cardio and will be adding swimming into my routine too before adding physical exercise such as machines and free weights. Which will be a low low weight and low resistance but very high repetitions, which is key. Not looking to to get huge again even though I have muscle memory that will bounce back but no need to bulk up not at this age lol. I am looking forward to it actually. My target goal is to go back to 205 weight class, currently I am at 255. I should be able to make it by February 1st at the latest.

I have been enjoy the fall transition. Still have lots to do around the house but it will get done.

Ya'll have a good day and rest of the week. My EMD SD40 showed up at my door step yesterday. I plan on posting tonight the pictures and a video for my channel on YT.

Later!
I'm glad to hear all your good news!

Once again, I'm sorry for the loss of your sister. I've lost both of my sisters; I have an idea how you feel. I can feel for your parents as well. I saw the pain in my Mom when we lost my sister Theresa. My sister Cathy passed away two and a half months after my Mom. At least my Mom did not have to endure the loss of another child.

With any loss, after the initial shock and sadness I try to focus on the blessing it was to have them in my life.

Celebrate and enjoy your birthday. Your sister would want you to have a happy birthday.

Thank you Louis for the kind words and encouragement. Being the only son and having one sister left who is 2 years older than me things got real with our loss. My baby sister, she was 51 with 3 sons, man it was tough to contend with and still is. There are times I am glad I did not have children of my own, not that I didn't want them but life worked out that way for me. So having said that it seems that there was a plan unbeknownst to me if that makes sense? Anyhow, I thank you again.

Peace.

Good evening all. A mixed bag weatherwise. Managed to visit my local model railway shop for a little look round. Saw a 'Tarmac' road vehicle model. FiL was a manager for the company. A purchase made.
Saw the nurse at the doctors. She 'pinched some blood' from me. It is to be tested to find out what is causing the pain in my ankle. I have to telephone on Monday regarding the results. The nurse also ask if x-ray results are there.

A southbound troop train from the north. The two carriages are of the North British Railway Company.

OK .. I misunderstood ... I thought you were going from phone camera to computer.

JOE -- I am worse than WILLIE! I don't last 30 minutes and even after working off this earth for over three years - I dread getting on an airplane now and by 48 hours am ready to disembark a ship!
No offence there DAVID!

Funny -
Have no problem in an automobile; I am too busy rubbernecking!

None taken, Sherrel.

It is airports and cruise terminals that I dislike. All the waiting before boarding.

I am looking through some old photographs of my layout.

A diverted Leeds Central to Edinburgh 'North Briton' Pullman service passing Leeds Sovereign Street Station.
I remember a a young boy travelling on the train to Newcastle. It was a steam engine those days.

Afternoon All,

Today I had a bunch of indoor chores and some basic pool maintenance. Nothing exciting after that today. The stain is due tomorrow...finally. Thursday we're painting the stairs trim, Yuck and Friday and Saturday we are tiling, Yuck and Yuck.

Willie-Nice Museum photos.

Karl- Good luck with the TV. Fingers crossed.

James- That's a lot of dedication. I couldn't have done that even when I was your age.

David- Nice layout scene.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I have noticed that as well. It's not the doctors themselves, but their staffs that are the issue. Not only that, the staff at my primary care physician's office seems to change every time that I go - every three months. I'm currently fighting the diagnostic lab and his insurance lady because she mis-coded a blood test and my insurance won't cover it. Of course it's up to me to figure this out and show her how to correct it.

Karl: I cannot top that photo...my goodness.

Interesting evening.Wife made her famous apple pie...Delicious! Dinner was a good stir fry.

After dinner, I tried to balance working on the layout, while watching the Maple Leafs beat up on the Capitals, 4 - 1; and listening to the Phillies NLCS Game 7. Also caught parts of the Devils game with the Habs. Devils won 5 - 2. At the end of the 7th, the Phillies are down 4 - 2. It's almost like they ran out of gas... It ain't over until it's over.

Worked on two separate building projects, as well as some ballasting and applying underbrush along the Reading Industrial Line.

D-Backs to the World Serious!! Yeeeeh!!

Well - the D-Backs pulled it off. A couple times I thought that the Phillies were c oing to stage another comeback, but fell short! I think both teams about used all the pitchers that they had with them?
All in all, It was a good game with only a few BAD CALLS from the plate ump ... and the players showed it with their faces!

Another night of sleeping a few hours and then awake -- KARL, your picture is the best Lionel advertisement that I have ever seen.

See you'all in a very few hours.
