On this football Sunday I have seen the “Evil” Vikings go down. I am now happily enjoying sort of watching the Cowboys going down. I am also playing games on the IPadPro and while I feel bad for Mike McCarthy he signed up for this. 13 minutes + left in the 4th quarter the score is 49ers 42 and the boys of Dallas. 10 !!!

The Callous Doughboys go down in a stunning defeat. 49ers go on the nice list, with the Cards. I live around Phoenix, and it is sad that none of the news channels mention, the Diamondbacks and their first-round win in the playoffs. Not really a big baseball fan, but they could at least mention the D-Backs, along with reporting that the Cards smashed their little peckers again.

The Rangers actually outscored their Arlington neighbor on Sunday, 11-10.

Good morning all. A cloudy day with the temperature in the high teens C.
Electrician returning to do more work.

On the layout I did more scenery around the small industrial park. I have a building to build then I can arrange the street scene to bring it all together.

Good morning...all i can say is; it got effin cold🥶.
Yesterday after Allentown area train show, i went north on route 145 toward Palmerton. Incredibly got this pair between Palmerton and Bowmanstown on former Jersey Central:

Up in the hill across called Blue Mountain was Lehigh and New England, while bellow that near the river; Lehigh Valley.

Next stop Jim Thorpe and this bulldog was hiding in the gorge waiting to enter the station:

Reading and Northern was running three trains yesterday out of Jim Thorpe.

It was cloudy with sun poking out between here and there, but incredibly clear air provided vivid fall colors:

Good morning from So Central Wisconsin. Looks to me that the frost advisory was a “dud” overnight. Low was only 39.

Not sure what today will bring but I am ready. The outdoor furniture usually comes in the afternoon of the 1st frost. Last night doesn’t really qualify but I shouldn’t wait much longer. The highs all week are not above 55! It’s windy and the clouds have that grayness “Fall” look to them.

The lap pool water is at 82 and I will keep it there. Thank goodness for solar power!

The only thing that must be done is we have a business meeting with the daughter at 11.

There will also be time in the train room getting ready for a test crew tomorrow but I am ready. All 5 of my diesels are fine, the witrak wireless system works connecting the cell phones all around the layout with no signal loss. Tomorrow we will try to run 6 throttles at once with 12 locomotives. We will be trying to over load the system. Overload maybe at 7 diesels on 4 throttles is the guess

enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Happy Columbus Day if that's what it's still called in your state. Clear, still and 56°, heading for a high of 90°, or so the forecast shows. Warmer weather all week until the weekend, possibly having to pull out the blue jeans early this season. They haven't seen the light of day since February.
Skunk odor in the yard this morning from overnight, someone got sprayed but it wasn't the granddog. Skunk odor travels over 1.5 miles, so it could have happened in the woods down the road.

Best laid plans - I didn't get the pool cover on yesterday, but I still have two more wind-free days to deal with it.

Plans changed out in the train shed yesterday. I had only intended to include the liquor store and fuel distributor in my upgrade/completion project, but I decided to continue south and include Joe's Radio since it will be an easy inclusion. Joe's Radio is just a few DPM wall sections put together; he mainly installs custom sound systems in recreational vans. So yesterday I added a sidewalk, building foundation and the first coat of paint to the asphalt parking lot.

I'll finish the grassy area out front next.

IMG_0556.JPG

My main reason for not including it originally is that I haven't yet painted the backdrop in this section of the layout. Now, there is an impetus to getting that completed. Everything in front of it is removable.
The fuel distributor is not quite complete. I am getting the materials ready to install a chain link fence, this week hopefully. The fence posts are ready and now I have to accurately cut the fence mesh, not exactly easy despite having done it for many fences over the years.

Tom O - I don't own any Intermountain engines, so I don't know. What are your issues with them? I have many of their freight cars and their QA isn't very good in my opinion. Many times, things are loose on the package and I have to reattach them.
I have not pre-ordered from any company except Scaletrains. i am also very leery of doing it and prefer to have the product in my hands. I took a chance with ST a few years back, and I was totally sold on their products. I have purchased 13 engines and the only issue was a broken horn on one, that was promptly replaced after a phone call.
Terry - A 1 liter soda bottle half filled with water makes a good block in the toilet drain. My dishwasher empties in above the S-trap so it isn't an issue.
Patrick - Even on a normal day, I still wash about 25% of our dishes by hand.
Troy - Congratulations.

Notable birthdays today include Jackson Browne, the late John Lennon and John's son Sean Lennon.

Everybody have a great Columbus Day, especially if you have the day off.

Some really great catches there!

Making progress, but need to see the IT guy (wife's cousin) who lives 1/2 mile away to help me install some software and a program that I seem to NOT be able to get to work?

I once was fairly sharp with Win machines, but the keen edge is evaporating with each day!
The MAC I love, but don't know "crap" about it - and it is frustrating as all getout!
I am able to read something operational and then forget it before I finish the paragraph!
Feel free to message or email me your Mac issues. Remote diagnosis doesn't always work well but sometimes you can figure it out.

Morning all,

59° and noisy with the work going on. 84° later.

Yes, I plugged the 2 sewer lines, but the dishwasher drains into the garbage disposal.
I usually do the pots by hand as they are not dishwasher safe. We generally run the dishwasher twice a week, more if we have guests.

Microsoft's Edge is written in the same chromium language Chrome is written in. Difference is less creepy ads. Many add-ins for Chrome work in Edge.

Good morning, all! Finally, some nice cool mornings. Woke to 62 degrees, forecasted to make 80's. So now the "cooler weather to do list" becomes active.

Troy - Congratulations on the awards
David - Some great work in those scenes.
Mac - nice photos
Louis - Looks like the birds have they work cut out for them. Astros better pay attention, or they will slip as well.

I have a few honey do's this morning, but I hope to get some train time later.

Yo: Happy Columbus Day! Happy Italian Heritage Month!

Somehow, I fell behind 6 pages of posting, and I'm not going to try and catch up.

Yesterday, we went out with the trimmer, and trimmed several bushes and shrubs, that had overgrown their bounds with all of the summer / fall rain. Then we started on the Bravo side of the house, where vines had placed a choke hold on the Rhododendron, and Forsythia, cutting and removing the vines and trimming the shrubs. After we completed our chore, we returned through the garage, to find the garage door opener/closer not working. No power to the outlet...After considerable chagrin, I was able to trace the problem to a defective 15A GFI. I devised a temporary work around, and went out this morning, to obtain replacements..

So far the current round of American League playoffs has been a complete disappointment.   . On the bright side, if the Orioles strike out, the Phillies are still in contention right now...

Rather chilly this morning, 44° to start the day. 62° for a high. Good afternoon to hang out in the train room.
Hockey Season: Devils open on Thursday, vs. Detroit; Caps open in Pittsburgh on Friday.

Coming off the wye @ Farmingdale 10_06_2023 - Tony Krslovic.jpg

C&P Test Train coming off former PRR/PC/CR Freehold Secondary at Farmingdale, NJ heading North on former CNJ Southern Secondary, toward Fed bank. Freehold Branch has been restored through Howell for the first time since 1987. Work on the South Leg, of the wye, plus signage and crossing signals remains to be completed. - Tony Krslovic photo 10/6/23.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at a bone-chilling 64F and breezy. It was wonderful. Actually, it is the end of the first cold front of the season. Today I was doing laundry, cleaning bathrooms and working on a project for MOH to display quilts. After lunch I decided to watch some seasonal movies (horror) on the boob tube.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian buddies.

Patrick- Sounds like a lot of work.

Troy- Congratulations on your trophies.

Mac- Great photos.

David- Nice scenes. It's nice that your grandchildren are able to interact with your layout.

Willie- Nice scene and additions.

Joe- Nice photo.

I hope everyone has a good night.
