I spent a lifetime at a Culvers summer camp in Indiana in 1964 or 1965. 6 weeks of hell at the time but years later totally understood what leadership skills they were instilling. It was at the Culver Military Academy, is that where your friend was?
Yes. Summer School was a 6-week "camp" for kids between 8 and 18. I started going there for the summers in 1976 when I was 12. Started to go year 'round in High school in 1979. Lots of rich kids go there. I was one of the poor kids.

Norm Amundsen played as a defensive lineman for the Packers long before I met him while attending Culver Summer Schools, where he was a sailing instructor. I went back during the summers while I was in college to teach sailing there. He was still teaching there, along with his daughter, Kris. Kris and I still friends.

So... as a student, I attended Culver, in one form or another from 1976 to 1982, then returned the summers of '83 - '86 to teach sailing.

That's me done for the week work wise, started yesterday painting the Machine shop, did that, cleaned up, and realised the chimney was still in the box Duh! So now get everything out again.

On the bright side, the PO where MikeGTW's parcel is currently residing, opens at 9am tomorrow.:)

Yep. I have a smart TV I keep dumbed down. I KNOW someone (from the darknet or the CCP) is in this Windows PC right now. I have not booted it up for nine months in Windows since I discovered it last December. As a defense I keep only a set amount in my primary account, and I've lowered my daily limits for both withdrawals and ATM direct cash withdrawals. I know they are in here right now. The most sophisticated of them can burrow so deep that they can read the characters of your Windows login itself.

For the last nine months, and when I first joined here, I used a Linux USB boot stick. I still do use it a lot. IMO every PC user should pre-build one so they can log in in the event of an emergency. You might have to enter your email account info each time you log in...and your screen preferences, if only to see what Linux thinks you are trying to do...etc. It was only mildly annoying, really. I quickly got used to it, and in fact, it was somewhat "freeing" NOT to have to scan email with each login. To set the screen size and resolution. Ok...I could deal with it. Maybe ten extra seconds each time.
I'd better get a refund from Macafee and Microsoft, in that case, seeing as they're my Antivirus suppliers.

Afternoon All,

Spent the day doing stuff in the house and outside. Nothing much beyond that. Tomorrow we plan on doing early voting.

Thank you for the video likes yesterday.

TomO- Beautiful church and scenery.

Mara- Yep, I live on the west side of Orlando.

Christian- Nice photos.

Guy- Nice job on the swing gate. I have a friend that has 2 lift out gates that the track is powered. He uses the old jack style plug to connect the feeders to the main buss.

Patrick- Nice job on the ballasting.

Willie- Love the lawn chairs.

Ken D&J- Sorry to hear about your daughter's issues. My daughter is dealing with similar type issues with one son.

Alan- Great scene.

Dave- Good looking pour.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Afternoon all,

Been rainy for the first time in a while. Finally quit, but wish it would stay around. We need more, just not all at one time.

Had a couple of power blips and then you hear the line fuses blow. Figure the dust has gotten into the line connects and then the moisture seeped in. They kind of sound like a gun going off...

Patrick- Nice job on the ballasting.
Thanks for the compliment. More to do though....

Our 2 favorite grocery stores HyVee and Festival Foods do not sell bologna at the deli counter. They have the pre-sliced stuff from Oscar Meyer in the coolers. I will not buy that. I can get bologna at the deli counter in the HEB we go to in Austin.

I love fried baloney on toast with a touch of butter and Welch Grape Jelly.
I prefer deli sliced bologna, but I also like Oscar Mayer. I like bologna!

I love fried bologna. I like it on fresh bread with nothing else.

Congrats, you got one heck of an education. Dad and mom both wanted me to go but we couldn’t afford it. I had 2 cousins go to Marion Military Academy in Aurora, Illinois the same years I was in high school, 66 to 70. I went to Marquette for college they went to So. VietNam and were never the same afterwards.

At 415 bucks...

It took just about all day but I got my Logic Rail Pro/2 crossing gates board installed today. It needed some fine adjustments on the between the rails IR's but it works great. I used the green wiring on the emitters feeds not to get confused with the black ground wires on the detector's because the wiring has changed on the new boards and the emitter wires do not go to ground anymore. Nice slow gate movement. If you need to know more about that I'll post what Logic Rail had to say about the subject.

A friend asked for a few photos of the end of a centre-beam. Not sure if I ever posted these. As Jed Clampet once said though, 'They're just as good the second time around'.

If more are needed, I'll have to search through my 2020/21 files. Let me know; I've probably got more.

I'm really tired. Time for some sleep. Goodnight

Thank you Guy. Those will help me greatly.

Well howdy, there internet peoples.

Nothing new to report. But here's pic of my cofffee and tunes. Got words to word, so I found a nice Jazz Bar Music channel on the YouTubez.

The coffee cup seemed appropriate since the plot in this mystery may damage the Giant Kelp Beds in the bay of my little fae town

Got to word the words. Back later.

Morning all,

Already at it...Currently45° going for a high of 66° later. Got about 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch of the wet stuff yesterday. Only runoff was on the hard surfaces, seems to have soaked in everywhere else. Ponds are still dry.

Also, Thanks everyone for the likes here and on my layout thread. I still have to get into the basement and see what I've got on the ballast now that the glue is dry.

BBL as I'm the only one in the IT department today.
