I guess what motivated me into this bridge project was the New Haven Poughkeepsie RR bridge.

Right, paperwork all done for the return trip, French Police are a real PIA though, list of stuff I'm bringing back, checked, double checked, had to make a statement, as to why, wherefore I was bringing Dave's stuff back, got it all official now.

Sent group round to The Louvre and the Eiffel tower, by foot,(they were not impressed) but out my way for a while so I can get this all done.

The bags are all loaded, contacted the group leader, pick up at the Eiffel in an hour and a bit, then homeward bound, hopefully no drama, except for the chunnel.

Hello again,

Ran into an issue with a rebate, so I had to go to Sam's Club this morning. Don't get emailed a receipt, but card is charged and I get the goods. So I print the receipt from Sam's website for the rebate and not a valid receipt. So I took the goods the 17 miles to Sam's where I "returned" them, leaving them in the cart and taking them to a checkout and buying them again along with some additional products.

Look at the "Ground Foam" I found there for $6.88!

And it's even cheaper!!!!

Except its really:

🤣

It does kind of look like the stuff. I actually do wash out and save those shaker bottles. Wife asked why I couldn't use it and I said it would attract the wrong types to the layout. Don't really want their kind there....;)

Good morning, all! The day has started out quite warm, and getting warmer, hot actually. Got my chores done yesterday and broke down and ordered Bar Mills, Shipyard Brewing Co. from Bar Mills. The kit I ordered is the full building, 0855, as opposed to the half building 0851. Oh, and the wife made me do it.

Patrick - might be hard to explain the smell of oregano in the train room.
George - nice bridge project. Will you be putting water below it?
TomO - some really nice work on those cars.
Willie - Iin one of the plants I worked in, they use capstans to pull cars to the loading areas. there were 2 tracks, one by the building and the second parallel to it. There 4 capstans, 2 per track that could move the cars in either direction on the tracks.
Guy - a hillbilly, me:D. Great work on your swing bridge.

Math - As some figured the answer is $25 for the room, $2 in the bellboy's pocket and the $3 dollars returned equaling $30.
It's all in how the data is presented. Kind a like the news media.

I had my grandson convinced I had 11 fingers for a while. When he figured out where I got 11, it became 12...

Start from 10, count down the fingers on your left hand, and then starting at 1, count the fingers on your right hand. Then add the 2 numbers...6 + 5 = 11. 11 fingers...to get 12 do the same starting at 11, as you just proved you had 11...😁

Ahhhh, so that's how they do that.

Now I understand why I hate Maths... 😜

Louis - I hate those online user manuals. Since I am not adept enough to use a tablet and can't read a phone, it requires going back and forth and hoping that I remember what I just read. Good luck with the new range.
You and me both! I remember when computer games came with printed manuals and story books. I loved reading those almost as much as the games. I often use my laser printer to print out manuals.

My wife likes my Amazon Kindel fire tablet. It is easy to use and the battery lasts. The only drawback is some apps are not available for it.

I admire your brother's choice. I plan to do the same.

Really interesting, a Roundhouse car! I understand the collector thing. But my liberal upbringing tells me Eric should be ashamed of letting this go so far. That said, happily my conservative business side says capitalism is alive and well in Model Railroading and there truly is nothing wrong with that. More power to Eric!

My common sense side say people have more money than brains to pay those prices.
