You realise Jazz probably had to go and lay down after that. :D :D
Lie down…naaaagh……..I ate a bar of chocolate to to deal with the stress….grins…..and I thank you all for the excuse……now just need to check my stash..Lindt extra dark 90 percent only 7g sugar per 100g…..almost Keto friendly

if anyone knows how to incorporate Lindt chocolate into a 3 day fast I will love them forever, and NO promising myself a whole bar after the 3 days does not cut the mustard, and for the record no I cannot just pick it up and smell it, I tried,I failed, abismally…hmmm speller checker can’t cope

I looked for and could not see my kick at wagon, there is a sausage one also but shamefully no one ever made Lindt!

so getting there, plus the hole will be adjusted for the woodburner so no more at this point, although cleaning soot off the old stone n case we re use it, which is not likely but cleaning it regardless.

Doesn't it say where it's from?, as far as I'm aware, PayPal doesn't return stuff, they simply supply a payment service.
Definitely not from PayPal. It looks to me like it is coming from the buyer. I will look at the box it was in maybe a clue there. No matter its back. I will disconnect the motor today to be able to line the tie rods up and see if the pin in the baggie fits and holds. I looked online and the price at Brass.com for unpainted is $295. Painted always go for less. So we’ll see. I have other things to do so this is not a priority.

Morning all,

Busy day as I'm the only IT support today. There's an IT security conference in Wichita the others are going to. I was asked, but I like my Friday afternoons. Since I'm the early guy...

Went to get some coffee. Pot was empty and I know I started a pot when I got in. Forgot to hit the start button as I usually make both the first pot of coffee and iced tea. I make the coffee so I can have a cup or two and later change over to the iced tea.

Lots of work there

Good morning from chilled at 32f feeling like 26 So. Central Wisconsin. The house is kept in the cold seasons at 72f and it seemed colder to me. Since I am home alone, I kicked the furnace on to 73 for 15 minutes. Since Fall started the furnace has run for 42 minutes this season, so why not run it. It was that or put on my slippers and a robe!

The daughter and family have asked me to dinner tonight. They will pick me up at 5!

I have a dentist Appointment at 9 this morning. Lunch at 11:40 with the big developer who purchased last year and has built this year. Asking him about his development plans and what will happen if we sell the balance of the property with the house. He is protected by our contact till 6/1/2024 from us selling to another developer annd them building before that. It’s more an fyi for him. We are closer to a decision on the latest counter offer.

I did already talk to the daughter. With the SIL’s vineyard of 40 acres and their house on it’s attached acreage they are fine with enough property. I had our attorney call the attorneys for the stable staff if they are still interested, no response per ours yesterday. If we sell the stable with the house I am fairly sure the staff will walk but then they also lose the housing allowances they have now. None of them make enough to pay the market price and I need the attorneys to know I will enforce the evictions. Tom the hard ass…but they have strung this out for most of this year. There are 58 paying horses plus Terry’s 6 that she pays for in a paper transaction. It is more then enough to pay the current staff and earn a profit, minus the vet and intern who Terry handles separately. The fun of business that I have found out this week I really don’t miss.

I will find 1 hour for working on the layout today.

I also have 1 car to continue weathering.

I actually looked on Amazon for HO scale gifts for me as my Christmas wish list. Both kids prefer to buy on Amazon but the prices compared to the LHS and my 3 main sources is crazy. I sent them my spread sheet list at 2AM from the 3 online places I normally buy from and the Amazon price. Their decision now, I gave them choices

With the sound muted I watched NHL last night, Toronto beat Washington and the BlackHawks lost to Vegas. The announcing staffs for both teams were atrocious IMO so I muted them.

enjoy the day

Good morning from east central Minnesota, 32° and it was snowing on the way in to work today, accumulation in a few places. At least we know it will melt,

Some more realistic water came yesterday, put down another layer on my water feature, thinking about adding some cattails in the vicinity of my lake rush, maybe this weekend. Ran the train around the layout a few times, put the steamer off to the side and running the SW-1 again, that is my smoothest runner that fits my era, would have been a brand new locomotive in 1939.

Wife informed me we will be moving the bed so she can paint some trim tomorrow, also have to add a trim piece on the ceiling fan, a little work left to do to prep my concrete pour sidewalk/carport slab, getting near to winter need to wrap up the outside stuff,

We had a nice fire going in the fireplace last night, will be burning wood now for a few days as the heat is so nice and saves using our propane which means we save cash.

No sports news from me ever, I did not inherit that gene have never understood the fascination so many have with it, but we are all different, thats what makes the world go around they say.

back later, Dave

I fail to see why the buyer would return it to you now, seeing how long ago this all kicked off, seems a bit pointless to me, unless he's trying to get his money back from PayPal claiming not "as described" but I can't see that flying after all this time either.

I suppose you could always strip the loco if you thought it was worth the effort.

Snicker...You can't be referring to Joe B. and "Locker" on NBC Sports DC. You must have been watching the Canadian broadcasters from Rogers Sports Net.
I watched the Devils Flyers on ESPN+ for about 10". I lasted until Devils goalie Mackenzie Blackwood gave up his first soft goal of the evening, then turned it off. The guy is terrible, and the Devils should have started Vitek Vanecek instead. Last year, Blackwood averaged close to 4 GA per game, but blamed it on a sore heel and Covid...this is the dude that initially refused the covid shot...Wonder what his sorry excuse is this year? Last evening, I was ready to give up on hockey...this morning, just the Devils...I'll stick with my aging, injury prone, 0 and 2 Caps...for now.

Good Morning All. Clear and a rather cool 55° on this fine Friday morning in North Central Texas. Still more of the same weather here, highs in the mid-80's at least through tomorrow. Everything else has changed, with thundershowers predicted for Sunday and then a real norther blowing in Monday, with the low Tuesday night in the 30's. Back to normal by Friday.

Weekly grocery trek yesterday went as planned, prices are continuing to rise, but I remember the administration pointing out that inflation is only "transitory". Produce and meat have stabilized but are at least 15% higher than the beginning of the year. Soft drinks, dairy products and frozen foods have gone through the roof. And cheese! I paid $22.00/lb for a Parmesan wedge! What's going on up there in Cheesehead Land Tom??? While apples are on sale right now, they're still more expensive than last fall by 20¢ apiece. Bacon is also going up at a greater rate than other meats. I didn't look at gasoline prices, but I think that they are up slightly.
The trip over to the imaging center was uneventful. I arrived early (11:01) for an 11:15 appointment and was out by 11:13. Very efficient place that I have been to before, meaning no paperwork to fill out.
At home, the door hinge on the refrigerator broke Wednesday, the door still closes tightly, but it is a hassle. The fridge is over 25 years old but works great. Repairman was out yesterday afternoon and will pick up the part this morning and return this evening. He, like others, highly recommends keeping the older models running as long as possible because the newer models are pieces of crap. My wife is very displeased as she is tired of this old one, and refuses to believe what he and other repairmen have told us. Of course, he makes his living fixing the old ones. In 25 years I have twice replaced the icemaker myself, and repaired the water inlet line, but doors are above my pay grade. I have asked him to clean the coils as well.
I split more firewood yesterday afternoon and don't feel any aches this morning. I actually like the exercise it provides. I use a sledge and wedge instead of a maul, since I only have to split trunks greater than 12". I am not into heaving the maul at my age any more.

Thanks for the likes and comments yesterday, they are always appreciated.

I didn't have a lot of time out in the train shed yesterday, between the grocery trek, outdoor tasks and the repairman I was left with only about 30 minutes. So I just ran trains instead of any project work. No pictures today since I am late and haven't time to search the archives right now.

George - Good idea on the hinged gate, looking good. I figured out that duckunders weren't for me many, many years ago and I have been able to build all layouts since then without one. I do have a "stoop under" at 54" on the current layout, just to allow for continuous running on the upper level.
Dave B - I agree that the wood splitting is contributing to my relatively good health.
Joe - I've never been to Trader Joe's, but my wife goes every time that she visits the grandkids without me. I will get my initiation this weekend I am told.
James - I really like adding details to the layout. I think that it adds a lot of character and in some cases intrigue. Now if I could just find those damn raccoons!
Jeff - I used to hear first hand about the welfare/free money abusers when my wife worked for H&R Block and did their taxes. It is truly a sad reflection on society when these folks are allowed to game the system at the expense of those truly in need, and the taxpayers who have to support them.
Curt - Even as a kid growing up in NOLA for a few years in the late 50's, the French Quarter was noisy and dirty. Some things never change. Much of the area along the river smells all of the time.
Jaz - Looks like you still have a bit more work to do.

Everybody have a great day and an awesome weekend.

Good morning folks!

As some of you saw that I uploaded my loot from the LHS purchase I made yesterday thanks for the likes etc. (those pics are on the RPO thread) It was a good purchase I think. I was bummed out with the Popcorn stand/trailer sign had come off the roof top but I can glue that back on I think. I have to figure out what kind of glue to use in this case to not mess it up. I was really happy about getting those forklifts! Man that was great. I wish he had more I would of gotten quite a few more of those. Nice detail on those. Getting the 3 boxcars was a good buy as well at 50% off too. The cars and the Dodge Power Wagon were cool too! Hope Willie approves 😁😉

Ya know how on FB you can comment or leave an emoji? Sometime I wish I could do that on Ebay 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Anyways, last night I was on there as I got a hit on yet another Bluford Shops caboose. I set my timer and then came back to it. I waited until the last minute or rather seconds and sniped it! I won! Funny these transfer caboose will run up to 125 bucks. They are worth it though as the details are great! So anyways I got this one for 72 bucks including shipping. Very happy! I will share later when I get it in.

This weekend will be chores at home. Winterizing the boat will be one task to finish up. Stacking wood another. That will be enough for this weekend. I plan to just be a hobbit after chores are done and maybe get some more train room work done. I have a ways to go on cleaning and organizing so that I can actually do some work in there. I may get my upper shelves done too which requires painting and cutting to size etc to install them.

Fall colors are peaking this weekend. It is a beautiful time of the year. I am working in the office today. I ordered pizza for the staff today so they can have a free lunch. I will let them go home early shortly after that to go enjoy the weekend. I got good peeps that work very hard here and do a great job. Gotta keep them happy and let them know you care. We only have 40 people that work here so very small compared to what I had 2 years ago. I used to manage 355 people plus another 1200 contractors and sub contractors. Yup a far cry from the rat race. Now it's more peaceful and stress free thank goodness.

Well I will check back tonight. I think I have a few packages due in today. Waiting on my LED light kits for the passenger cars I have and one superdome passenger car that have not arrived yet.

Ya'll have a good day!
