Good Morning Everyone. Clear and a rather cool 56°.
So yesterday went out with some good news. Besides the fact that I found the missing cane, my wife's doctor gave her a provisional release from the hospital for today. Two days earlier than was originally expected. Confirmation should come this morning. It is mostly dependent on her case worker being able to get everything set up with the home health care specialist service which will be coming out to our house every day for ??? to administer antibiotics, draw blood, help with a little rehab, provide assistance and cleaning the PICC device. Time for me to straighten out the house! The place is clean, just disorderly.
Once again thanks to all who offered best wishes, comments and likes. Too many to thank individually but they are all appreciated.
Good Morning Flo. How about some blueberry waffles and a handful of bacon this morning. OJ as usual.
Yesterday was another slow but active day in the train shed. I continued detailing the crates and junk piles, started on the second batch while adding dull coat to the first. That will stabilize the ink in the labels as well as giving a uniform surface for weathering powders to stick to. I also brush-painted all of the loading docks, stairs and the ramp with Polly Scale Aged Concrete. No pictures of progress work today since they aren't interesting yet.
In lieu of any progress pictures, I'll look through the archive. Here is one end of another Downtown Deco Hydrocal structure, Addam's Ave Part II, with a vacant meat market and Madame Wong's Oriental Massage parlor next door. Note as well, the local sheriff and a city policeman have part of today's quota.
Another scene with a couple of young ladies washing the dogs while the third one keeps his eye on the donkey across the fence who's guarding the dairy cows.
I have a panhandler in Jamestown and a park resident.
Mikey - Thank you for the comment Saturday regarding the step by step process. I hope that it helps others as well.
Garry - I finally got a chance to explore that link you posted for
Joe for Unexpected Products. While the selection is really small at this time (six items right now), what is there might be worth a try. I'm looking at the pallets of cinder blocks and maybe the lumber racks. Thanks for the discovery.
Ken in Illinois - 72" x 30" is a really good size for a switching layout and should also have a lot of room for scenery as well.
Steve J - I absolutely love charcoal or wood grilling. I'll
never don't plan to ever use propane even though I have a 150 gallon tank of it just 20' from the grilling porch. The propane is ideal for the oven/range though. Made myself a delicious rib-eye steak last night.
Sherrel - While we are both disappointed with the "do-over" on the knee, it was an easy decision to make regardless of the immediate pain and rehab. I don't expect her to regain complete mobility again until after Christmas. It's wait and see right now regarding how soon the infection clears up. I'm trying to make a list of some activities to get her out of the house occasionally. Ones that do not require lengthy trips in the car (blood clots), or any overuse of her leg. We'll be fine.
Curt - Great to read that you have your Dad comfortably settled in.
So, where the heck is
Guy? Did I miss something?
Everybody have a great day. Stay safe.
