Good morning, er afternoon gang!

Had a blast at the run session yesterday at my friend Ken's house. Must have been about 20 of us including Iron Belt Ken (different Ken then the host). Afterward Son #2 and his wife stopped by with one of the granddogs (the puggle) to pick up a set of pet stairs for their elder 2 Labradors. They are having difficulty getting into their beds, so the stairs should help. The Puggle like the new pup and approves!

A little fiddling with trains for today, but Kevin Harvick's final NASCAR race is one I will not miss. I've watched his career from Busch series into Cup racing so I have to watch his career close out. However due to the 💩 show that NASCAR has become, this will possibly be the last race I watch. Aussie Supercars are far more exciting.

Afternoon All,

The day started out at a chilly 59F. Had several chores then I headed to the train room. I cut some more cross bracing and stained it. The next step took some thought and trial and error before I was successful adding the side bracing. The Original has 1 set on each end, but I added a second set on each side for more strength. I still need to add NBW's to them but that will wait until next Sat or Sunday. Tomorrow I'm chauffeuring Dad to 2 VA appointments so that kills the day and Tues-Sat MOH and I are staying at a hotel/resort about 30 minutes from home.

Mac- Nice layout shots and gondola.

Dave- It's the same here. Politicians pandering to special interest groups that usually doesn't reflect who elected them to signal their "wokeness."

Willie- I don't have any bicycles on the layout but I do have 2 motorcycles that daughter gave me as a kit years ago.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Is it the photo, or is it really that long?

Looks about the length of some of my auto-racks.

Looks great by the way!
It's that long. I thought it was a cool find, that's why i grabbed it, even though it needed some work.

End wall i did last night:

It apparently was a kit, real wood (floor) and metal, just like real ones.

I went shopping earlier today, and while out my daughter, boyfriend and dog decided on a surprise visit, no problem, my daughter still has her set of keys to my apartment, unfortunately, their dog is not as well trained as I would like.

It appears that while sniffing around, he dislodged the well car that yesterday I decaled and this morning weathered, off the turntable it was sitting on drying, landed top first and broke all four grab rails and the brake wheel, I'm still looking for the parts, the one I've found is rather wet and chewed, so I'm not expecting to find anything usable, to say I was highly unimpressed is putting it mildly.

Worst was when my daughter said " sorry dad, but there's only a few bits broken, and you can always get another one":mad::mad:

That's not the point daughter.

Good evening. Free sunday. Was up early and thought about going to train show in Monroeville (near Pittsburgh). Four hour drive there and four hour drive back, thankfully cooler head prevailed. I figured there's work to do on the secondary line on my railroad. Lots of measuring, cutting, screwing (not screwing off), gluing, and i have the basic loop finished:

The black bridge is a cheap Bachmann with what was a flashing light. Scrapped the light and that bridge will be spanning the gap over lover railroad.

This is looking into the loop. Railroad here makes right curve and it eventually gains elevation to run over that bridge. I effectively have figure 8 and a lot extra mileage to run trains over.

Not enough cork roadbed to finish the loop, so will have to try get few pieces during the week. Time to clean up and have dinner.

I would insist that daughter buy a new one. That's just disrespectful.

Impressive build you have, looking forward to seeing it progress.

This has all gone too far! Trying not to offend one group offends another.
Funny you should say that. We had a person come into Town Hall complaining about the Christmas tree in the lobby. I asked her if she worked on Christmas day and she said no. I said, "You have no problem taking that holidayoff" but if it bothers you then you should push the government to make your religious day a holiday. I could use another day off myself. The look on her face was priceless and took the thunder out of her complaint.

Well you could always make a derailment load for a flatcar. Got this grain car from a friend that dropped it on a concrete floor. Added some more damage with gouging the side and weathering it up.
