Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at 69F, breezy, and humid from all the rain. It was supposed to stop this morning but it's still raining on/off. My pool gauge says we got 2.5 inches yesterday and the water is puddling in the yard. Dad and I visited my buddy Jon and then after lunch I got an haircut.

Tomorrow is decorating the front of the subdivision for the HOA by several homeowners (saving money). At 3 pm we have an appointment for new tires on the Rouge. Of course, I have to inflate the tire to be able to drive it there. A full tire lasts about 30 minutes. If it is sunny, I'll do some spray painting.

Louis- I can take sauerkraut or leave it, but I only eat it on hot dogs. Are you talking about the Roger Wood hot dogs from ALDI? I like their flavor.

Joe- Nice picture. I wonder if there's hope on my Pennsy Western Region Tower?

Sherrel- Nathans are my favorite also.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Louis, Anything left over?? I'll be right there!!
I always have more than enough. Come on over, you are always welcome.

We have two hotdogs left over, and plenty more in the refrigerator. I can open another can of sauerkraut and lots of potato salad. If that is not enough look around, you will find something you like.

I'll leave the light on and the basement door open because I'm going to bed, and I'll be asleep long before you get here.

Don't worry, my old Beagle Tucker is almost deaf, he won't notice.

Unless he has some special condition if I were him I just stay home a few days, lots of rest, water, VitC, VitD, etc and wait it out. No reason to freak out. I wouldn't even bother testing. If you feel sick, stay home, get rest and nutrition and liquids and wait it out.
He’s not freaking out just ticked off.

He was out walking, not riding a horse or ATV, on his property enjoying the fresh air and said he’s taking a real sick day. The only work he has done today was signing a NDA for a rather big company named after a rain forest. He did that before his Covid positive test. He called the local Clinic and they told him to do what I told him and what Chad just wrote. If he doesn’t feel any better tomorrow he should come in

Says unless he is communicating directly with staff from the company named after a rainforest he pretty much needs to remove it from his vocabulary. It’s crazy but he said the contracts are well worth signing the word away…

A little while back I was doing some research on what factories in Leeds were producing during the Great War. I came across Kirkstall Forge building a railgun, the KF1. I decided to build a representation of it as information is very sketchy.
The model is a heavy brute and needs a big locomotive to haul it. Here it is with a 2.6.2 locomotive in charge.

Decided to withdraw everything and close 401k permanently.
401(k)s were a very useful tool, for deferring taxable income until retirement, and for forced savings. One could accumulate a considerable amount of money in a Bull Market, and see it evaporate, in a Bear Market.
401(k) plans differed company to company. Some are good, others not. Too many do not even offer a company match. Business used 401(k)s to replace defined benefit pension plans. Not necessarily the best for the worker.

If I had to do it over again, I would stay out of tax deferred retirement savings plans. Especially 401(k) plans without a company match. Just my opinion.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and consumers of meat of all varieties.

It's Troy again.

I was going to try to sleep in today, but the cat decided after the 4 am pee run, he needed to lay on me. Right in the kidneys. didn't matter if I was on my side or back. So I got up to relieve the pressure.

We're lucky here in the Fort to have Fort Wayne's own Coney Island Wiener Stand/store. Oldest running coney stand outside of Coney Island. I really should go down there sometime soon and try it out. Hopefully they won't toss us out if we ask for no mustard on one. Wife HATES mustard.

David: I had to look up Mincemeat. It's mostly fruit, right? Do you still use meat suet, or have you moved to vegetable shortening in it? I can't say that I've ever had either variety.

Got mom's running around done yesterday. Her line of credit is paid off at the bank. I've got the passwords and login to watch her balance online, and she visited the eye doc for the macular degeneration shots. She's not happy about it. But they beat going blind.

Of course, she didn't tell me she was out of eye drops until we're sitting in the waiting room. We had to kill 30 minutes between the bank and the eye doc. Distance between was far enough there wasn't really time to run her home for a potty stop, but I could have pulled into a pharmacy and purchased a bottle for her. Her memory isn't the best. And it's tied to a perfect sense of bad-timing.

Fortunately, the eye doc does provide sample bottles with the injections. Without the drops, she'll be in extreme pain later in the evening.

No clue what today is about to bring.

Yes Troy, it is mostly fruit. I use vegetable shortening pastry. Much as I like suet I cannot get it right. My grandmother was the one for making suet. I can 'taste her Blackberry Suet Pudding' as I think about it. Such a delight.

My Aunt was the one to make apple pies. I used to watch her make them every week. I have tried making apple pies myself. They have been a success, but not a patch on the ones Aunt made. I just leave such luxury to the memories.

I guess I shall keep making sweetmince pies for Christmas and other pastries throughout the year.

Off course I love cooking dinners. I shall be cooking Italian tonight.
