Good afternoon all, the cold weather is giving me time to work indoors, although gonna haul in some more firewood, the wind has not relented today,

Phone says 11 mph wind but feels more like 30

I got my video software to cooperate, or maybe I figured out what I was doing wrong, so I made a layout update youtube with all the newest scenery and people, plus locations labelled. The old Varney 4-6-0 hugged the track without a hitch (after mornings track work session)

There are a couple spots where it appears to be a big bump however nothing shows up on the track, as long as it doesn't derail I like the wheels making noise on the tracks:

Enjoy the movie, all the sounds are actual

Nice, one day, one day, that might be me. (one day) 🤣 🤣

Ok, while glue dries I'm doing a project.

An AHM GE 35 I got on an auction a year or 2 ago and does not run. My goal is to get it to work just to see if I can...

I'll start another thread if I need to...I figure based on it saying it's made in Yugoslavia, it's really a Rivarossi model made in the 70's.

Hey Everybody!

I have not said much lately. I had not felt well. My pancreas flared up; gout flared up. The good news is I feel better now!

I try to ignore pain and sickness. It's harder to ignore if I talk about it.

I did, however, keep up with the posts. Trains and the endeavors of my train buddies are a great distraction, thank you.

I was at Trainfest last Saturday. I know the majority were 50 and younger and they were the ones spending. I was surprised though about my FB page for my layout. A few of the guys who I met who I have weathered for were no older then 40. A few I text that are across the country with DFW area of Texas my most clients are all under 50. The guy in New York is under 55.

The hobby is not dying, especially with my small sample to go by.

Alan, I read the open house was super attended and got rave reviews. Daryl Krause on his U tube channel was like a kid in a candy store there.
Yeah we have plenty of young guys in our club, which is a good thing. They model too. The open house was a huge success. We had somewhere around 400 guests. Sorry you didn’t make it but I won’t feel so guilty about not having the Overland handy. Maybe next year! Another member was going to bring his and I didn’t want to steal his thunder (or vice versa 😄). Then he got sick and didn’t show. 🤷‍♂️ The Lark with its Rapido PA power was well received. We had a lot of fun!

What's Daryl's You Tube handle? I'd like to take a look at what he filmed!

For $3.00 I would buy a dozen!!!
They go for lots more than $3.00 now LOL! I had to buy about six of those kits for a junkyard scene I'll be doing. Total cost was in the S110-120.00 range. Ouch. Unfortunately nobody does these anymore. The family wasn't interested in continuing the business and I have heard the tooling was destroyed. 😞

In holland we have a thing that's called Sinterklaas (Saint Niklaas). Its a fest that half of the Dutch ppl hate and the other half loves. Yesterday I went to town to do some shopping. Our main road was packed with children and parents. A guess, that street is about 500 metres and sweets (unpacked) covering at a volume of about 1 kilogram/1 metre/full width. That makes at least 500 kilo's of waisted sweets.
Apart of the discussion whether this fest is appropriate at modern times (coloured ppl are knights!, called zwarte Piet), you might say its not 2022-like to organize it like this. Some dutch are very stupid!!!

Well, howdy there internet peeps.

It's Troy again.

Got three books in my head to write, and another story that I really want to write, but don't have the time around the other three.

One of the books is about local politics, ripped from the 1973 headlines of Santa Monica ... the town I've based my Calif cozies on... due to our recent elections in the US I thought that one might be next on my agenda. But, following the author convention, I've settled on the Candian story. The Case of the Perilous Puffin. You never know when puffins can turn deadly.

Characters have been plotted out. Just have to figure out where the victim got offed. I know how, but not where yet.

And, because poly tics are against the rules, I found this meme.

I think it would be cheaper to buy the damn 1:1 locomotive, than this model!!!!

The engine looks great, but the amount of money hurts a lot. One must have too much money to spend or nuts.
