Yeah, they lose it all in 5 years and have a sever drug or alcohol problem. But they prolly still have a nice car. All the friends who came outa the woodwork have disappeared again.
Well then the 2 people I have know are below average because winning the lottery for them was nothing but positive. I never met the brother of a employee but he won $250,000 in a scratch ticket around 2000. Had no job but purchased a $300,000.00 house that he would have lost if his brother hadn’t purchased it from him before the foreclosure. I blame a greedy bank for that one

I have to remember that. Thankfully tonight I was able to seperate the fingers as soon as I felt the stickyness of the thick CA I was using.
yeah, any acetone based cleaner should work. Fingers will come apart again -- ust soak in water for a while and the skin expansion will loosen them. The more important thing with CA are the fumes. Avoid CA fumes! They tend to cause an allergy build up when one is exposed to them a lot over time.

Well we voted. Took 21 minutes from getting out of the car to back. I also went around the property talking to all working today and checking if everything was good. It is! Came back from voting and Terry had the lady employee in her office who is interested in managing the property.

The 2 of us hopped in the ATV and drove around and she is smart, knowledgeable and seemingly liked by others. She started with us in 2017 in the barns, was born in 1998. Part of the crew working on getting citizenship. Team lead at one time of the grounds crew before her latest promotion to the scheduling group. Being from Mexico she does speak Spanish and her English is slow but thought out and very clear. Not a good reader of English (her words) and has little in the way of math skills. She never finished High School here in the States. Terry is having lunch with the scheduling team lead to discuss her. We also need to know with minimal math skills how did she get added to the scheduling group and how she was coping? I will never again give so much freedom to the property manager unless the SIL will do it again.

It’s like a weight was lifted off the shoulders yesterday but really until Saturday I didn’t know exactly the issue. Same now that we voted.

Are they saying the lottery was hacked? Did they ID the state yet? I had read this morning that the state was overwhelmed with ticket buyers? Conspiracy is great for selling the media propaganda messages.

The SIL texted asking if we wanted him to place bets in Vegas on the Wisconsin elections, I said no.

No packages on the USPS preview list Terry gets to let us know we have mail or packages at the office address. I am waiting for soldering flux for electronics. Everyplace I checked in the area was for pipe soldering.

enjoy the day

edit. Terry stopped before her lunch date and my package was there

TomO - I have to admit, never had a boss as generous as you and yours. After giving 110% and a full measuring cup, heaping over, have generally lost out monetarily with each job change. Only exception was the last one when everything got better.

Willie - piping to storage tanks

Election judge - my wife so of course I will be good

I keep a 9v battery operated fan on my workbench to push away fumes. I dislike using CA but for 3D resin it works pretty good.

Dave, thanks. We try to treat our employees the way I wanted to be treated by my bosses. My brother was great to all his employees but me, and all these years later it still hurts. I had a job when we 1st moved to North Central Wisconsin in the 70’s where the lower level managers (me) who did the work were treated like crap. We try to avoid that. We have nobody other then the property manager called a manager and that title will now disappear. We are not perfect and I am disliked by a few of the staff. Terry though is seemed to be loved by all, even me.

Well, so much for retiring early.

They announced a winning ticket in California. Typically east or west coasts have the winners. So I'll cash out and end up $4 ahead. Tripled my investment.

Snowman: Glad your mom is OK.

On the voting track, Wife and I voted our picks last week. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Easy to vote None of the Above!!!!

Afternoon All,

Started out with a 2 mile walk this morning then did a couple of small chores. In the train room I've had a head scratching day. I have started running locos I havent run in awhile and today I was running a Genesis F3 ABA set. In one small section of track behind a coal mine the lead unit always derailed (20 smph) in the same spot (of course in the madatory pain in the butt area to get to). There were no issues in the past :(. I started out gauging the wheels and track, both OK. I ran a small screwdriver along the inside track in case it was ballast driven. Then, I tested each loco separately 3 times in each direction- no derails (at 20 smph). I then ran the AB with no difficulties in either direction at 20 smph. I then added the other A unit. I ran it forward and reverse 2 times at 20 smph with no issue. I ran it the 3rd time it derails the front truck on the lead locomotive😣.

The 3 units will run through at 15 smph. The units are joined close together with manufacturer couplers. The lead loco derails in the straight level section after a increasing height (curve upward 2% incline) of a 28" radius curve. At this point tomorrow I plan on taking one of the couplers off and figure out if I need to order a longer shank. More to follow.

TomO- That is going to be a neat build. What's happening with the "farm" has to be tough to deal with mentally.

George- I am sorry to hear what happened to your wife, Saying prayers for here. Would she be able to use a walker long enough to get theough the doorway?

Snowman- I'm glad your Mom is OK.

Smudge- Very cool video.

Patrick- When I was in PM school I was working as a EMT but several times I had to take leave to be able to do required field clinicals.

Guy- Nice 1:1 photos.

Dave- Neat photos. I downloaded "photo & picture resizer premium" on my phone. It's like $5 a year. I use it on all my photos (cell phone) which I resize (under 1 MB) before posting.

Willie- Nice job on the build. Those long pipes are strange.

James- I'm glad you were able to recover your photos.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Curt, I am having this experience with my old Varney 4-6-0:

A new derail spot I worked on last week had it running perfect then last night tender wanted to derail there. Another spot further down the track, loco used to derail occasionally now hugs the track and no issues. Wife asks why I said it is common to get a gremlin in there somewhere messing things up. They usually come out when company is over, however. What is a gremlin, it is the thing that makes things not work.

Having the opposite experience with the performance of the loco, however. The thing seems to run better each time, maybe getting all the moths out of her.

I had her on the sidelines for a week or so then Sunday decided to do some photographs, thought she would be more appropriate for the pics, ran her around the track no problems, slow speed no problems, even starts out without a nudge. She is a little noisy but if you were a 60 + year old electric motor maybe you would gripe a little too.

Heck, I am 64 and I can be pretty creaky by the end of the day. Some days, the beginning of the day.

Just got home from the hospital, Not good broken hip they operate tomorrow morning. I wanted to add another bathroom to the place I guess it may be a necessity now being a wheel chair will not fit through our current bathroom's door.
George
That's a very difficult situation. You have my deepest sympathies.
I imagine you are already mulling over narrow wheelchair options. If self-assembled, you can usually leave off "features" which could cause problems in maneuvering or even getting stuck. Probably easier too, to widen the doorway be removing trim, and/or even up to the door and frame than to add-on a whole new bathroom. You'll be facing a time-crunch. In a pinch, the wheeled commode can tide you over too: Bring the bathroom out, rather than battle too much getting in.

Wishing your wife all the best in her recovery. And you too dealing with a bad situation now made even worse. Keep your spirits up!

George: If the hip is like anybody else's replacement - They will want her to be walking the next or the day after. Sure there is going to be some physical pain from the surgery, so keep ahead of that. Mom did almost the same thing 9 years ago; missed a step thinking the floor was flat in the motel we stayed in and down she went.

Wow, glad she's ok. Re the bathroom, you'll obviously have to measure it out, wheelchair Vs Door, but you could remove the doorframe and fit a sliding door if you have the space either side, just a thought.
