Quick set CA glue. Glues my finger tips together in seconds but takes over an hour to glue two light pieces of plastic together as long as I don't touch them. Another 24 - 36 hours before the parts can be handled.
First guess is that they were light. Vibrated enough to keep from a direct steady short. In other words, they would contact the rail, spark and bounce upwards just a tiny bit. Could you hear anything from them before you picked them up? 2nd guess; and that is if they had chrome plating - Chrome does not conduct electrons very well, and also could be vibration keeping them bouncing on the rail.
I don't know? How did they get that hot to burn my fingers. It's only 15v or so. I used to have a 5 amp circuit breaker hooked into the system. I believe that would tripped the circuit.

I have to remember that. Thankfully tonight I was able to seperate the fingers as soon as I felt the stickyness of the thick CA I was using.
went from a chipped walkway/ladder landing
to this. The sanding is much worst in the picture then actual. Paint will cover it anyway but after the CA it left a tiny leakage bump. I did clean it up with warm water, dish soap and a medium stiff new tooth brush. Ready for primer.

It is a water treatment lime vessel. Now that I have it and doing some additional research I’m not exactly sure where to place it in the paper mill. I originally thought on the recycled water line into the Recovery Boiler building then decided no add it before the pulp digesters. The lime will remove the acid in the water from the pulping process. Now I am not sure. I laid out the brass wire railings tonight to start soldering tomorrow if the flux gets here. The railing is pinned to a 3” x 12” x 1/4” board so I will be able to move it on and off the bench. This will take me some time soldering.
Children, like all of God's creations they are unique and ever evolving. I feel blessed that all three of my kids are financially secure and seem happy in their personal lives. Best of all they are good and decent people.
I have been self-employed since 1995. There have been times I wished at least one of my kids would join me and one day take over for me. I doubt it will ever happen now. I have been a "jack of all trades". From Industrial mechanic, all types of sales and services, computer manufacturer and back to industrial mechanic. Now I work as a contractor for Amazon and as always keep my hand in the grey market cherry picking easy profits. Occasionally I still consult with small businesses. I have done well for myself and my family. My kids don't have the experience to do what I have done and sometimes still do.
My education came from the "school of hard knocks". I was bored in college. Experience was my best teacher. I went from street rat to respectable businessman. At least I like to think so. The streets have many lessons to offer. If you have the wherewithal to navigate them and the good fortune to survive them.
In my dealings I have seen almost every kind of business end. Not only because of mismanagement. Sometimes it ends because no one is there to carry on.
Many of my clients evolved into friendships. One friend owned a successful lounge/restaurant for many years. He told me "My kids don't want this restaurant, they don't want to be responsible for the lounge until 2am and come in at 5am to cut onions, carrots, celery and chop garlic. They don't care how much profit it brings in". To retire he had to sell his life's work to strangers.
Another friend owned a successful HVAC company, He educated his son in the trade and sent him to university. His son took over and ran the business into bankruptcy. His son was a "know it all". He thought he knew everything and refused to listen to his father. The son told me "I don't need a consultant". He was one of those people who had an answer for everything. One thing I know, nobody knows everything.
We do our best and educate our children. They choose their own paths.
You have my deepest sympathies. And empathy too.
Mom fell hard last night on her face, although fortunately from only sitting height.
Best of luck to the two of you, and hopefully for us too.

Body is still on daylight savings time. Been up an hour already. Too cloudy here to view the eclipse and I have run the course on viewing new posts here on the forum. Sigh!
When I reset the clock on the coffee maker, I neglected to change the Auto Brew time on it.
Love my coffee maker. Nice big buttons.
I prep my coffee the night before, so no matter what time I stumble downstairs, I can push the big BREW button and a few minutes later I have FRESH hot coffee. Unfortunately, this is one of the last things I do each night.
This morning I awoke for the 4 am pee run, and smelled coffee wafting up to the second floor.
Crap!
Looks like I accidentally hit the Auto On button when I slid the coffee maker back after prepping it.
OK, I got up so I wouldn't have to sacrifice a fesh pot of coffee.
AND I reset the auto on time to 6:30 just in case.
