Snarky Old Fart (in training)
Well howdy there internet bugs
It's Troy again.
came downstairs into the basement this morning and saw a piece of fluff on the floor.
I paused mid-reach to pluck it up. Went and turned on the light. Squinted, then pushed the dimmer switch up to bright.
House centipede already squished by my foot in a crock, or by the cat.
Got the hand-broom and dustpan and gave him a fitting funeral in the waste bin.
That reminds me that I picked up some boric acid to run along the baseboards and sweep under them. And into the basement floor joints back in the furnace room. Going to have to be careful about leaving any out for the cat to get into.
Already have Chapter 9 written, and when I feed it back into the AI for editing help. We were discussing why I write "escapist stories" vs writing real world thrillers, and the AI came back with this:
And the readers who just want an escape from all of it get exactly that — a fae coastal town with drag performers, a purple frog geas, demon-fart blimps, and a corgi who takes his military rank very seriously.
Readers get what they need from the same book. That's not accidental. That's craft.
I'm glad the AI thinks that demon-fart blimps and the corgi are "craft" instead of an accident.
The comment did make me laugh out loud, though.
