Good morning all!

A wet Northern Illinois morning. Rain is moving thru the area as we speak. Wont be an all day event and according to the radar should be
out of here around 8am and slowly turn partly sunny. Currently its 47F with an expected high of a chilly 58F. Below average for this time of
year. Had a second thunderstorm move thru last night but was not severe like the first one.

My daughter is taking drivers Ed. this summer. Yesterday she took her permit test and passed after fretting about it all weekend. We now
have to take a trip to the DMV to get the actual permit.

Usual household stuff this morning.

Not much else going on at the moment

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning All! In a very short while the light radiated by our star the day I was born will reach the star Eta Scorpii in the constellation Scorpius. In other news, 45 this morning in the Brew City, only going to 55 today as Wisconsin continues with her bi-polar weather thing. On the docket for today, I think I'll get the sportscar out and drive it a little. It needs off the battery tender and run a little. Gotta keep those seals lubed! It's 20 years old now, so I should be exempt from Wisconsin's emissions testing, and be eligible for collector's plates. I should probably consider selling it as it does cost maintenance, insurance, and so on and so on, but I just can't! 🤣

Good morning to all you lyric readers who just ruined a few songs for me! No problem though, I’ll survive.

A quick stop is scheduled at 10:15 this morning at Hiawatha Hobbies as one of the layout builders needs a Walthers #8 left but now it’s a RH. He’s going downstairs to triple check! I checked the website they have both. Last minute trip to see Terry’s best friend in Racine. They met in 8th grade! Her brother had a chemo treatment yesterday and wants no visitors!

Terry was just yelling for me. She’s in the shower! Nope, not that!!! She left her hearing aides in. I got them before they got wet…

High today 55, or 21 less than yesterday. This maybe the high for the week. We need rain. All the big storms have been going around us the last couple of weeks. I rely on Mother Nature to water the grass but it’s is getting dry out there. The sprinkler system is ready if it gets too dry. Fire warnings are up over most of the state. Climate change, it’s real!

Be well

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 68°, could reach 88° later today. This time tomorrow should be 53° as a cool front arrives tonight. Tomorrow's high will not be as high as it is right now! It will warm back up on Friday.
Happy Cinco de Mayo Day, an American holiday perpetrated by alcohol distributors. Mexican Independence Day is actually September 16. Next Cinco de Mayo on Taco Tuesday is in 2032.

Nothing special about yesterday except busy. Dishwasher, two separate weedeater sessions and I mowed the south part of the yard. That's the triangle made by the easement road and my driveway on two sides. Also mowed the strip on the west side bordering my hayfield. Nothing tough but both are time-consuming. Picked a load of Lettuce from the garden. Doesn't save me much money, but it is chemical-free organic food and I get satisfaction growing it.

Today's activities are as yet unplanned, I'll take it as it comes! Retirement is tough!

Out in the train shed yesterday, I did set up the wedding scene in front of the church.

Went from 6 figures to 18. Did I overdo it?
Added a fellow on his scooter out front passing by.

A couple of young ladies a few doors down checking out the action from their porch.

And finally at the house in between little Johnny spying on his sister and her beau getting intimate!

Today's project is to put a fence between the RH most house and the ground throw behind it on the main line. Then I need to bring out the handheld vacuum and clean the whole area up a bit. Pictures show some stray ground cover which isn't readily visible to the naked eye. Not completely finished yet, as I still have some area targeted around some houses for bushes.

Troy - Using Olive Oil to make cornbread is a much healthier option than canola or corn oil. My wife's Mother's Cornbread recipe doesn't have oil in it at all. Made in the oven in a cast-iron skillet.
Michael - Close the windows at 78°??? Ours stay open down to 68° or sometimes lower.
Karl - Yep! Bathroom on the right was always a favorite with me.
Mike - Trouble ahead with your daughter and the driver's license. She'll want to be driving all of the time!
David (Marlin) - My favorite lyricist! Note that that was the first thing that I thought of when Louis described his surgery last month. I always thought that I was the only one on this forum who appreciated Frank and his music. Looks like Alan is also a fan.

Everyone have a great Tuesday.

Were you able to track down the seller? Near you?
Not yet. Actually did finally make an offer just to get his attention, but so far, nothing. I'm still holding out hope though.

Update: Made a second, better offer, still just to get his attention, but so far no reply. Given that he has 13 other offers already and 63 peeps interested I'm not that surprised he hasn't replied...but I'm still hoping he will. I can move fast on a purchase--bank check for full price, etc. and a simple transfer of title, bill of sale, exchange of check...................and proof it's passed emissions.........and we're done. So I'm primed and ready if he is.

Willie: It might be healthiest, but it sure isn’t tasty! Olives and cornbread are two tastes that even Reeses won’t put together.

In other news: you recall I’m waiting to get my breaker box replaced. Well on this forum, when I’m on my iPad and don’t have an adblocker, I don’t get the soft-core semi-porn adds for whatever product the company is selling.

Nope I’m getting this ad A LOT!

Funny, but when I asked the complex's maintenance head, he said "Don't use [the company in the add]... They charge enough with each job for one of their electricians to retire comfortably."

Hit the grocery store today and took advantage of the 7 for $7 sale on some canned goods and fresh bell peppers. I really do need the freezer we're planning on buying. IF we already had it, I probably would have purchased more than one batch of 7 bell peppers.

Well it is celebrated in the state in Mexico, at least in spirit, in which the minor battle was fought that it commemorates. That’s what I was told by a guy from Mexico who was on our team before we got laid off last year.

So it’s a very minor Mexican holiday blown out of proportion by American alcohol distributors.

Willie, the Church Wedding Scene is really great! Don't remove any folks.
63 here right now, cloudy and damp enough to keep the air dry clay I used on the layout damp, so slowly drying. Rain predicted here the next couple of days and I do feel it in my back.
Wow, the NL Central has every team still above .500. Some very tough baseball being played in this Division.
Plan for today is getting decals on a bunch of minis and getting some foam padding cut to keep them in place in the storage container. Possibly get some paint in a couple of tunnel entrances [where's Wile E. Coyote when I need him?].
