Good day gang!

Happy belated B-day Mike! I saw it yesterday, but every time I thought of responding, someone or something needed my attention. I did get a chance to run through a majority of the posts yesterday in the doctors waiting room or at the pharmacy.

Yes, I got another ear infection. Doc says I need drains put in my ears. My boys had them as infants, now I need them at 65? What's next, diapers??

I would have been in earlier today, but SWMBO had me outside as soon as I finished my cinnamon Life cereal digging up and separating Hosta, trimming rose bushes and spreading mulch. Still need another 5 bags but not today. I'll get them after work 1 night this week.

Today I hope to wire up some dwarf signals and watch the NASCAR race .

I really think we should have 3 day weekends every weekend, so I can still get my work done and have a day of rest!

As far as the hobby dying I believe that thought is pure Bovine excrement! 🐮 💩. Yes it is changing, I won't argue that. I prefer to think of it as metamorphizing. It is becoming the best version of itself. Much like a caterpillar to a butterfly.

I shut off my automatic watering for tomorrow and hope I don't forget to turn it back on. I did make preps for the rain by closing the windows this time.
My system used to water is connected to the net and knows when it supposed to rain and will skip a cycle based on that. I don’t have to do anything. I would forget to turn it back on if I were doing it manually.

Wonder if my wife would allow this rug in our kitchen?

Good afternoon folks. 79 here and sunny, a very pretty day out. Got home from Church Services, then had to turn around and go back as I had forgotten the offering, so my wife could do it! Got back and discovered that the Youth Group forgot to lock the place up when they got done practicing. So the Lord knew what he was doing all along! Taking care of my Missus as her diverticulitis had flared up again and she didn't make it to church today. Thankfully she seems to be on the mend. I have a Dentist appointment tomorrow, might head up to the Train Store since I will be halfway there.
Very happy that the Cardinals managed to take two of three games against the Dodgers!
You guys have a great evening.

Well, the wife tried 15 bean soup in the crock pot.

She had to spoon about a quarter of it into a pan, and simmer it on the stove top for about half an hour. It was kinda-done after that. But she was hungry, and the corn bread had been out for about an hour, so we ate.

I put about a third of what was left into Minnie, the small but mighty Instant Pot. 17 minutes in a pressurized cooker and it was done.

The problem was the big crock is three times what Minnie can cook at once. So wife is finishing the leftovers in batches.

Figured out that we were too cautious, and should have gone for 7 hours on high, instead of 7 hours on low and then switching to high. We even soaked the beans overnight, which normally cuts the cooking time.

Oh well. We're learning.
