Since its a Catholic school, they wont have traditional "gym" type of ceremony. It is an evening mass with graduation incorporated
as part of the mass.
Nice thing is all the graduation photos were done today, so she will officially be done on May 16th.
After 3 days of rain and clouds, the sun is out today. I can watch grass, weeds and other vegetation grow right before my very own eyes. My yard went from looking recently mowed, a little over 3 weeks ago to now looking like the background scene for Jurassic Park. It will be at least 3 days before things are dry enough to mow or weed-eat. But the real threat is MOSQUITOES. I went out to check the mail earlier and my food brushed through some taller grass and it appeared smoke came out of the grass, only it was mosquitoes. I got 3 bites before I could get back inside the house. I hate those "not so little" bas-turds......they are healthy and doing well.
I did receive my Bowser foam loco cradle from Squeaky's Trains today. I have some P2k locos that need gears and decoders so the cradle should make the job a bit easier.
I may get out to the train room today but my heart isn't really in it after finding out yesterday I cannot order (at least for the time being) any more servo controllers like the ones I already have. I hate having a potpourri of electronic gismos that don't all work the same. I do have a couple of decoder installs that have been put off due to real make a living type work needing to get finished.
I might do that but everything I have done this morning has turned out to a pain rather than just the simple task they should be. I'll spare everyone the boring details on that topic.
I’m not looking forward to my daughter’s HS graduation next year. There are some 800+ kids in her graduating class. Luckily she is in NHS and I think they run the honor society kids first across the stage. I know they did it for us and I think I heard they do it here.
My son was at a charter school and his HS graduating class was about 20-22 kids. It was a nice graduation.
Crikey, I went to a small rural Primary School (ages 4 to 11) here in the UK, my class when I was eleven consisted of nine pupils including myself. Secondary level was not much bigger, just 93 (of which at least a dozen rarely if ever turned up!) when I did my final GCSE exams at the age of sixteen in 1991.
In those days though, in the UK we did not really have any form of leavers do, there was tea and cake at the end of the last day at Primary, for Secondary there was nothing at all (my preference if I am honest!!), you finished your last exam, were shown the door and never darkened the place again!!!

We got a bad storm around here late yesterday, Cayuga lake, one of the finger lakes about 30 miles long and a couple miles wide came up 12” over night and I’m sure it’s still rising. That’s a lot of water
I graduated high school in 1976 with 352 classmates. I went to every grade in the same town except 4th, so I knew just about everyone.
That said, I never felt welcome in my home town. Not sure why.
It is a beautiful 62f and spent all day in the garden, turned over some new soil and put up a picket fence to keep the deer out and chicken wire around the bottom for the rabbits.
USS Theodore Roosevelt - again...Sounds like someone is not paying attention there....I understand they are engaged against the Houti, so combat stress may be a factor...However, the Theodore Roosevelt is the ship where the Captain was relieved back in 2021, because the a large portion of the crew came down with Covid while at sea.
Just had our local air show here. The long time crop duster was fertilizing a nearby Sorghum field and was making his turnaround over my house and property. I'm sure that many of you don't get this type of aerial display where you live.
My estimation was that he was holding an altitude of ~250'. His Dad before him used to show off by flying between the fence tops and the power lines back in the 80's. Too bad that I didn't have a digital camera back then.

My freshmen year in High School we had 2100 students. The other area HS being built in the district was not ready until mid sophomore year. At my graduation with 3 high schools open in the district I still had 1600 students in my class of 1970. The class of 71 the next year only had 1000+ because the 4th high school opened.
The daughter’s class in 2000 in north central Wisconsin was around 125-150. The son in 2005 his class was just around 100.
The latest F-18 loss was a bad landing. Didn’t catch or hold the wire. I’m not laying blame as it’s not clear if it was pilot error or mechanical failure.
At least it wasn’t just falling off the side of the elevator with the plane tug.
Turn signal and windshield wipers always give away the new driver! I still do it sometimes and I've been driving here for 25 years. Just remember that the driver is always to the center of the road, parking lot, or wherever.

Normally when I’m in Japan I just get in the same seat I’m normally in. Front left. Since I’m the tallest and fattest I get the front passenger seat. It will be strange being on the right. We just have a one day rental. I should manage. I did get my international driving permit so I’m ready.
The years before I graduated high school I was in the band. Graduation was always outside on the football field. Even with 175-200 graduating kids the line across the stage took forever. Even though we only played Pomp and Circumstance for the processional and not the whole stage thing (since they were reading names etc) it takes a long while for 200 kids to come in and be seated. So we hated playing graduation as the song went on forever.
Haha, yeah. I was as well. We had the largest marching band in the state back then. Then 2 years marching at University of Hawaii. That was a lot of fun. Sousaphone - we did a lot of extra show stuff since we were so visible.
