Back from the morning errands. Called mom and got no answer which means she's either in the loo, with a therapist, or can't find the cell phone. I'll try again in a few minutes.

Did my errands after getting my first 4K steps in. Got another 8 ft shelf for the gaming room, and brackets. I'm in need of more space to store the little armies. Then stopped and got a few grocery items I missed yesterday. Finally stopped at the hearing aid place.

Had to wait 45 mins to squeeze between two appts, but was able to (we hope) fix the blue tooth streaming/phone issues with the new hearing aids. We'll see.

Doing some patio sitting until the heat and humidity drive me in for the afternoon.

Stay safe, and do the fun things I probably won't do. :)

I had Bluetooth issues after the last time that I saw the hearing aid tech. I ended up fixing them myself by reloading the app and doing some fumbling around until they worked. Of course I didn't remember what I did during the fumbling around that actually fixed them!

I just when over to the lawyer's office to pay which I hope to be the final payment for the legal fees of my wife's Medicaid application.
While I was writing out the check, I asked what should I put on the notations line, Legal Fees? I live in NY and I want to get this right.

The total so far came to $7,552.50. They charge $475.00 an hour so you don't want to spend too much time on the phone with them.
I went to the 4 banks and got the 5 years print outs. I wonder what the charge for that would have been if they had to go to the banks.

Morning folks

42F, partly cloudy and a forecast high in the mid 50's. I spent yesterday repairing several pieces of rolling stock that were damaged during their 25 year storage, including Tichy tank cars, a couple of my converted Blue Box 40' flat cars, and a couple of Climax skeleton log cars.

I may actually get around to clearing some of the shrubbery out in front of the house today.

Magazines: I very much still prefer hard copy rather than scrolling through the stuff on a screen. That said, my MR subscription died about a decade and a half back and I bailed on RMC after Hal sold it. Both no longer had any appreciable applicable content for me. I still receive the Gazette, along with the Mainstreeter, not exactly mainstream. All the logging related publications I used to subscribe to are long buried. Tall Timber Short Lines was the best of those. As others, I have several file cabinets full of old magazines with MR back to their beginning.

I hate when that happens.

My biggest problem is putting things in a safe place and forgetting where the safe place is.

This was an issue (for the phone calls) where the phone's onboard mic was competing with the hearing aid mics. That was a setting that had to be done in the audiology software. I didn't have that setting in the app.

I'd already tried the hard reboot of both hearing aids and phone. I'm learning that Starkey is a latecomer to the bluetooth side of the tech, and this is their first generation device with full bluetooth streaming. So I expect bumps. This one one that was fixable.

I don't see any way my wife's impending stay in long term care is going to be financed through medicaid and that is going to no doubt put a very large dent in our "liquid" assets and may in fact, eventually result in selling part of the property which will be unfortunate. So goes life (and death). In the meantime, that is to be avoided as long as possible.

Perhaps not the proper place to admit this, but my personal feelings about nursing homes is that a stay there for myself would be far worse than being dead. But then I have the same opinion of cruise ships------

Willie, don't be surprised if you get a bill for the missed appointment. Don't ask how I know this...
I was expecting that and it may yet happen, however we did show up, albeit 90 minutes late, and this doctor does not have a written policy regarding no-shows. That and we have been loyal clients of his for over 20 years. As I have posted here before, the medical profession in this area is generally pretty accommodating. Unlike Troy who had to wait 8 weeks (or something like that), for an ENT appointment, we got yesterdays within 5 days of the phone call, and the make-up is just 6 business days away...Memorial Day did that!
If we do indeed get a bill, my wife will quietly pay it and not tell me since it was her screw-up. ;)

I need to do with all of my model railroad magazines.
I went through them, a few at a time, and scanned them to the drive, (cloud?), then recycled the magazine. No point in keeping them, much of the contents is obsolete. Eliminates clutter.

If you don't, they either billed it as an actual encounter, or they realize it was their mistake....(Ok, I realize we are not talking Jersey.
Prime Rib and Acorn Squash
Yum!
