Still need to put some foil near it and spread some brown stone. Further up i'll widen it a little with stone to be able to get in the car without getting my shoes wet in the morning dew.

Good morning all!

Low 80s again today with a slight chance of rain. The forecast says 60 percent, but the hourly scroll bar only has it at less than 30 percent. Kind of humorous. I guess they will be right either way!

I’ll take the coffee to go, have a bunch of errands to run this morning.

Have a safe day all.

Morning all,

68° and partly cloudy this morning. Strong storms in the area last night, bulk of it north. At my home we had the gust front come through then about an hour of intense rain. It was coming straight down, so no wind fortunately. No rain at all about 10 miles south of us though. Some minor tree damage in the town and some sporadic power outages, so we got off lightly. To our north and west, it sounded pretty nasty. Out of town daughter was without power and her husband is a volunteer fire fighter and was hearing the calls within their county. Pretty bad there I guess. They were all safe.

I wonder if I can get paid for training the tech support people? I just had to explain to a PC tech support person what BIOS is, and what it does.
And he was supposed to be helping me. Yikes...

Terry: That's the way of the world anymore. Anyone with real skills aren't doing phone support.

Good Morning All. Mostly clear and 72°, should hit 90° again today before clouds move in tomorrow and it only reaches 88°...not a lot of difference! Weather geeks are still predicting rain from Wednesday through Friday, but they don't really know.

Yesterday, I started the process of pumping the rainwater off the top of the pool cover, it's taking longer than normal; I didn't realize how much is there. While that was going on, I did some minor garden maintenance and traveled about the yard picking up downed branches from the recent high wind and thunderstorm days. I cut off a few more low-hanging branches that swat me while mowing and took out several of the smaller dead trees that I referred to yesterday. All in all, I might have gotten 2 days of firewood but I got probably a whole season's worth of kindling. That firewood (non-kindling) is mainly smaller diameter branches that will mix in with the larger logs to keep them going without smoldering.

Today we visit the ENT doctor for our annual ear cleaning. My wife needs it a whole lot more than I do, I go just because! I'm in and out of the chair in less than ten minutes, she's there for nearly 30 minutes while he uses some kind of suction machine. Always interesting because he has cameras into your ears, and monitors set up around the room so you can see what he's doing. The cameras also feed into some kind of VR headset that he wears so he can see what he's doing. Other than 3 hours out of the day (includes travel time), it's no big deal, Medicare and my insurance pays for it all. This afternoon I hope to mow the east side which is the largest sector, but the easiest...think broad spaces.

The usual short Sunday out in the train shed. I made a concrete base for the crossing shanty and started piecing together the hairpin fence around it for the museum end of the scene. The gate is taking some time, since there is none in the Atlas kit and I am hand-fabricating one from existing fence parts. I ran a few trains as I waited for glue to dry. I did not take any pictures, or maybe I did but I left the camera outside so I don't remember.
Couldn't think of anything special from the archives this morning until I came across these shots of a unit grain train passing through Vernon.

John - Hated to read of the switch issue, but it looks like you have a good handle on things.
Patrick - You haven't mentioned any foul weather, did it miss you?
EDIT: Never mind. You posted as I was still composing.

So today is Cher's 78th birthday. I like some of her music, but never formed an opinion of her as a person.

Everyone have a rally great day.

Willie: I forgot to mention that the parsnip and beet seed I had gotten from the public library as they get them donated from various sources. I have a daughter working there, so I get first crack sometimes. Seemed no one wanted the parsnips or the beets. The corn was leftover from last year.

Great photo Willie. I most definitely do have an opinion of Cher and it starts with bi---

A cloudy, cool morning with showers in the forecast. Hopefully those will be liquid phase rather than yesterday's solid phase version. There are still a few piles of snow on the front lawn from that.

Going to waste the day at the work bench:)
