Good afternoon from the Las Vegas area. 6 hours from the time we left to arrival. A caravan of 3 cars that had to stop at various times so we all did that together. If Terry and I were alone at the rate we moved, when we moved without stops would have been 90 minutes less.

Boring enough that I watched new (2 days old) YouTube content on weathering from Boomer Diorama. I’m a huge fan and he created another great video

Dinner at one of the Strip hotels tonight (Paris) with my golf partner, his wife and Terry. Should be fun!

I have been able to run 8 of 12 engines. I have to constantly reset the throttle though. The throttle also acts up when trying to program an engine. Does anyone have comments on the new Digitrax DT602 throttle...hopefully it is easier to understand. It gets aggravating trying to run trains if I have to always reset on a test track...have not tried running any engines on my layout...tomorrow is a new day...but I am at my wits end

John I have had the issue of having to constantly reset the throttle DT402D. In my case it was that the UR-92 had quit working. When I replaced it everything was good.

I don't have a DT602 throttle but have listened to a couple of friends that really dislike it.
I do not use a UR-92, I use a DP-5 panel. I will switch it out tomorrow...thanks for the reply...Quick question: can I use a non-Digitrax throttle with the DB150? To me, Digitrax is very complicated, I would like something easy-peasy

Good evening y'all. 68° cloudy and breezy with SSW wind. 60% chance of rain, overnight. Were over to Sea Girt this morning, bought 3 tomato plants, and a 3 pack of cucumbers. Also planted previously purchased leaf lettuce, and some herbs.. Then we put the deer fence up, which was ore work than the garden. Hopefully, we will be more successful than last year.

Only digitrax throttles work with digitrax command stations. That part of the signal system is proprietary amongst each DCC vendor. Once the signal is in the rails it is a standardized DCC signal so that all decoders will work. If you want to buy the DT602D you will need the UR93 receiver to go with it. That will have to be linked to your db150 using a local net cable. The UR93 will have its own power supply with it.

This is not strictly true. I am not a Digitrax expert but Digitrax uses (and is the "inventer of") Loconet and so if your throttle supports Loconet, for example, it will work with a Digitrax system. I believe WiThrottle uses this to provide compatibility. There are multiple throttles that work with Loconet. The TCS throttles (UWT-100 and UWT-50 use WiThrottle as well as proprietary protocols to work with any command station they claim.)

There are standards out there that other command stations adhere to like XpressNet etc. Z21 is a version of that for example that is supported by multiple command stations and a tharottle that supports Loconet/WiThrottle and XpressNet will probably work with most any command station.

But you'd want to check with the maker of any specific throttle and ask about compatibility with your specific command center.

TCS has a starter throttle that has the command station built in (LT-50 @ $200) and also offers a full DCC/LCC command station that supports everything including XpressNet, NCE, and WiThrottle but its pricey ($530 without throttles).

I use TCS decoders in my KATO locomotives that use lightboard replacement decoders but have no experience with their throttle or command stations, yet.

Good morning!

Good morning all. A cloudy day with a shower or two.
A day of doing very little around the house before a busy day tomorrow.

Somebody mention buses?
Buses that are seen in Leeds. The cream coloured one is a Samuel Ledgard Company tour bus. The green one is Leeds City Corporation service bus. The red one is a Heavy Woollen District service bus.
Oh! and empty hoppers pass by.

Come on Chad. I was referencing John's situation. He's no way in the capacity or experience to mix DCC products in that sense. I'm sure we could write pages on how to build a DCC system from a handful of resistors, caps, diodes and transistors, but that's not germane to what John is tryin to do.
If ya want to flaunt your in-depth knowledge of DCC for John, great but does it help his current problem? No.

@bnsf971 xD well my autocorrection did that, i mean a buswire :D but for real. does someone in this forum operate his model railroad trough a buswire? iam still thinking of doing so. so i only have one main cable at the end and this will be plugged in the transformer. but iam not shure if this really works with all the connections on this one cable.
