Good morning all. A day of showers before the severe weather arrives tomorrow.
A coffee on the go please, Flo.
Jobs around the house to attend to, before seeing the train room.

Dawn is much better today. Much better than I feel. The coffee will perk me up somewhat.

Willie I hope all is well and there is no damage.

Thoughts & Peace to All who Require

Wow Willie you sure ended the day on a tough note. I hope all is well and it’s minor. But as long as you and the wife are ok nothing else matters as it’s replaceable. Willie said he is about 7 miles from ERA, Texas and Valley View is close…

Sunday morning in Wisconsin. The wind is strong as the trees try to touch their tops to the ground. There is a 92% chance of rain starting in about an hour and that is the lowest % chance till 11pm. Therefore I think today the guessers might be right. Some will be severe per the WeatherChannel app. Today should be kind of bumpy weather wise.

I rode the horse trails and my walking paths yesterday afternoon with the son in law and the crews lead person last night in a ATV. I must say they have done an excellent job of clean up on the trails. They had to re-graded the horse trails Friday after Thursday night's rain caused run off damage again. They did ID a few trees that will get removed but all branches are in a work pile for fire wood or chipping for mulch. The plan today was to finish the clean up around the saw mill and gather the debris from the 2 destroyed drying sheds. I doubt because of the weather today that will happen. I did not look last evening to see how far they got yesterday. What was in the 2 sheds were the July deliveries.

The County Sheriff’s office told us Friday that the NWS drones would be flying over the property Saturday gathering info to determine if it was a straight line storm Tuesday night or if was a twister. They have been calling it straight line winds. The sheriff department said they were told the NWS does this when there are conflicting reports and it’s not real evident what happened. The 2 drones I saw around 5pm were not what I was expecting. They had to have 20’ wingspans but with all the camera pods I was fairly sure they were the NWS drones.

I’m invited to another grill out this afternoon but the weather may mess with that.

Enjoy your day

Good Morning All!

46F @ 70% and partly with drizzle. 65F later and full sun. Ya, we will see.

Varooom! Happy Indy day! Weather guessers are saying rain and boomers about an hour before the projected start. Not a good thing.

Good Luck Willie as it sounds like you barely got missed.
Either you will have more limbs and such, or the neighbor(s) will have a new supply.

Not much to report. Have to replace the pressure switch on the water system. I suspect that it is not the switch, but the feed pipe is clogged as the pressure gauge is also not working. New switch and gauge was $49, and since I have to take it apart, makes sense to me to renew those after cleaning the feed pipe ( 1/2" thing and pretty short ). Did the pressure tank about 10 years ago and it is still at 28Psi which is what we want; pressure switch is 30/50 on/off.

Good to see Chet back - over 6 months without computer - geesh, I probably would have a 'run away'.

Swal- Pretty flower beds.
Curt I haven't done and weeding or new planting since my wife became disabled. I don't have the time like she had in the past to keep things looking good. We have 3 main gardens and their all full of weeds now. Unfortunately, my train layout looks the same. Half torn apart at the moment. I may sell off a lot of building and some cars at the Stormville airport yard sale coming on June 29. They'll be like 500 tables set up there for quick sales. I'm keeping the lower deck for now but if I decide to sell the house, I'll take that down as well. If that happens, I plan to cut out some of the bridges and display them in a module format.

Morning folks,

Another hoping Willie made out ok. We may burn up in a wildfire but nader's are way down the list probability wise. And thanks go to Chet for the archive photos.

A sort of mild (40F), cloudy, and soggy morning. It was raining hard when I took the canines out at 1:30 am.

A friend made a marketplace contact for me Friday (I absolutely refuse to join anything Meta) and I ended up purchasing a Macy's barrister bookcase locally yesterday. It needs a bit of minor rehab but the top unit may be reserved for a diorama. I picked up a copy of "Taft, The story of the St Paul Pass Tunnel, and America's Wickedest City" at the Livingston train swap last month and on page 57 there is a 1908 photo of Taft that is absolutely begging to be modeled-liner false front buildings sandwiched between the Northern Pacific's Wallace branch and a steep, sort of timbered slope immediately behind them. The foreground is a siding and spur, including three repurposed box cars, one of which is the depot.

Good morning all!

The second round of thunderstorms and torrential rain has departed the area, so the Northern Illinois rain train continues.

Willie-
hoping all is well and it’s just a yard clean up. Glad you guys are safe.

Direct hit, but the house is not damaged. All 7 of my neighbors have moderate to severe damage. Trees damaged or down everywhere. Power lines are down, it might be days before they are repaired. No computer, wifi or air conditioning. Generator is keeping the freezer and refrigerator going but it's only rated for 13 amps. Dry ice in the beer fridge. All of the metal roofing is gone from the train shed, but it is otherwise OK. SIL is bringing tarps out this afternoon.
Gotta go now and add gas to the Generator. Til next time.

Good news Willie. The headlines here are pretty grim.

STAY SAFE

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at 72F and humid. June is when our heat really sets in until usually mid-October. Joy. After breakfast I did inside and outside chores. MOH should be home within the hour. :) Dad says he wants to take us out to supper, but it depends on how MOH feels. I guess it was not a good trip. At least it was only 1 day.

Willie- I am very glad you and Arlene are well and not hurt. Sorry to hear about the roof damage to the train shed roof.

Chet- It's great to hear from you again. Outstanding layout photos.

Troy- I feel your pain. When Mom passed, they had been in a rental house for 15 years and honestly, they were hoarders. The house was clean, but it was beyond belief. Tell your wife that the crochet work is beautiful.

TomO- I'll never attach anything to the roof again. Mounting brackets for the pool solar heater leaked after several years leading to the tear down of my last layout to repair the damage in the walls and floor.

Joe- I get it. First, it's the horde of vacationers followed by the snowbirds and their we don't do it that way in _________. (Fill in the NE state)

Bill- Nice photo.

Smudge- Interesting that I have never thought about MOW vehicles pulling rail cars.

David- I'm glad Dawn is feeling better.

Christian- Sorry, but I detest the song "My Sharona".

Swal- I wish you the best.

Grizzled- That sounds like a great scene to model.

I hope everybody has a good night.

Willie is very lucky -- I was sorry to hear of the damage and loss of life.
I'm still "vertical" - thanks for all the well wishes.
I just figured that everyone was tired of hearing of my medical issues (which are still with me.)
Seem to put out one fire only to have another pop up!

No Chemo now for four weeks due to the fact that I keep injuring myself; last Tuesday they canceled because now my Creatinine "spiked" way high .... so there's that now. Hopefully it will be down within range this coming week.

At least the weather has been absolutely C of C days!
