What do you do with your old display modules when you’re building a new layout simple store of them under the layout until you are ready to pick all the structures and details off of them.
View attachment 169222
They are actually sitting on a long, wheelbase, moving dolly, and the support arms are the legs from one of the modules. That way I can easily roll them out into the middle of the room when it comes time to pick them clean.
Cool. Shame you can't incorporate them into the new build...

Morning all,

64° and mostly sunny, 88° for the high later.

Looks like so far this will be a quiet week, at least here at the office. Off again on Friday, but have to work on Saturday. We're running updates more often since the "network outage" earlier in the year.

Left over steak from the weekend will be fajitas this evening. Should have done it last night, but took out some brats and grilled those last night instead.

We're getting roundabouts here as well. I really hate the idiots who think a yield sign equates coming to a complete stop. Isn't the magic roundabout shown above the one they made fun in in "European Vacation"? (National Lampoon's European Vacation)

Terry: Having worked for an insurance company, I will say where you move (usually zip code) makes the difference in what you pay for your policy. It's based on claims and underwriting data for the zip code. When we moved to Missouri 10 years ago, the rate was different based on what side of town you lived in. Had we bought the house 3 blocks further, our rate would have been a bit cheaper.

Good Morning All. Clear and 64° here, staying on the coolish side at night in the upcoming forecast, upper 80's during the day. It did actually rain briefly yesterday, albeit 0.01" in the gauge didn't really do me any good. However I had watered the garden in the morning with about 1", so all is good for another week.

Finally took the cover off the pool yesterday, the water is still only 77°, it's a bit dirty and it will take about 3-4 days of filtering once I get the water up to the proper level. Don't know where it goes, but I always lose some water over the winter. Also don't know how that algae grew without sunlight!:( Haven't priced liquid chlorine yet this year, but I still have 16 gallons left from last year which should get me through to mid-July if usage is the same.

Yesterday was a household task day around here, empty the dishwasher, do a load of laundry and stay out of my wife's way while she did the bathrooms. Supper was grilled pork chops (again), with store-bought veggies.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I made progress.

Still have more to do, but it's a start.

Tom O - Continue to have a safe trip. Glad that you're enjoying Austin. I no longer stop or go through there because of the traffic issues. But Tesla has made using TX-130 tough at certain times of day.
Terry - I don't use the touch screen for anything. Everything on it is redundant. To use it, I would have to take my eyes off the road filled with inattentive drivers looking to get me. Secondly, I cannot easily reach it without leaning forward and to the right, both movements are restricted by the damn seat belt!
Troy - Brisket came out looking real good.
Hughie - I used the LaBosky's as it was made for motorcycles, mainly because I had a lot of motorcycles to use with it.
Karl - Too bad that you can't incorporate the modules into the new layout. I'm sure that you already looked at it.

Everybody have a great day and let's hope that the Stock Market continues it's rally.

Of course, my auto insurance can't tell me why moving to within a mile of where I work is causing my insurance to go up $9/month
When I was assigned to Morrisville, PA (Across the Delaware River from Trenton NJ), Half of my territory was in Jersey. I went up as far as New Brunswick, South to Camden and over to Robbinsville. I also had meetings to attend in Newark (1100 Raymond Blvd), and on occasion, visit Manville, Port Reading and South Amboy. Virtually half of my expense account driving was in Jersey....

fast forward several years, I move to Central Jersey. My insurance cost is outrageous. I call my, (former), agent and ask why. and he tells me I'm a "new" driver??? Huh? At this point I had been driving over 20 years in numerous locations, and was even certified to drive emergency vehicles. His reasoning, "I was a new to Jersey driver". What a crock of BS that was. Of course, he was getting a higher commission, for a high risk tier policy, and tried everything to discourage me. Needless to say, I replaced the policy and agent with a "normal" overpriced Auto policy, a more reasonable homeowners policy.

Good morning gang!

Flo can I get a Southwest omelette with a side of scrapple please, oh yes, and a large coffee. Hungry as a bear this morning!

Speaking of hunger, Troy, did you bring enough brisket to share with the class, or are you keeping it all to yourself? Do you know the make cold shipping packages for this type of thing.

BBL
I left enough for everyone.

You'll find it at Costco back in the butcher's dept. You might have to cook it a bit longer though.

Good Morning All!

58F @ 69% and somewhat partly

Welp, did the dump about an hour ago. They already had 55 people in/out. Lots for this neck of the woods. Anyway, since I was there I figured that I would show you one of the better places to take pix ... yup, dump. Snow at the 8000 ft level is pretty much gone this year. Usually we have snow up there until around the middle of July. Been hot since April and our creek is still pretty noisy.

Later

Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at 68F and getting to 88F and dry. After breakfast I did several outdoor chores and cleaned the cobwebs off the walls in the garage. Only one black widow found. SIL and eldest grandson came over for a while daughter finishes up her teacher stuff for the school year. She starts back on 1 August as I understand it. I'm feeling very unmotivated today.

Karl- That's a better solution than boxing everything up like I had to (not enough spare room).

Chad- They're popping up here in FL. It's probably because it's cheaper for local government. No Crazy Ivan here yet! 😲

Louis- I like spinach to but stay away from baby spinach in public.

Terry- Good luck with the move.

Willie- Here chlorine is $25 + tax for 10 gallons. That's up $5 from last year. Nice job on the scenery.

Christian- I see you are famous with your layout in the header photos.

Todd- Pretty scenery (not the dump part):D.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon everyone!

Just returned from our trip to Denver. We went out to see our Niece graduate from High School. Now is the never-ending pile of laundry, and the grocery re-stock.

Looks like beautiful weather in store this week. Upper 80s low 90s through the week.

Got the landscapers coming tomorrow. We put up a soft side pool every summer. I have tried several times to get it level and have FAILED!!!! Time to let professionals do there costly thing.

Have a great day all!

Good evening all. After a cloudy day the sun is shining.
I have been busy with my other main hobby; photographing cruise ships. A busy month coming up.

As a member of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Society I have acquired :-

I have been doing (slowly) a minor revamp of the layout. As the real Roseville area of Leeds is more industrial buildings I have moved the small Industrial Estate to where the houses were.

The houses are to be placed where the Industrial Estate was. More in keeping as I remember.

I saw that this morning, and I wonder how. Every time I look at a box score they have lost. Saturday, the Mets were on over the air TV (Ch 11), so I watched. They were so bad, I couldn't watch them. I ended up watching Dallas beat Vegas...(Last night, Dallas was eliminated in a real stinker 6 - 0).
Stanley Cup will be between Vegas and Florida, on TNT. I might listen in on XM radio. Orioles seem to have a bunch of injuries, Cedric being the latest. Definite reason for the slump. I hope they come back. I don't like the Cleveland Baseball Team.

BTW: Happy Birthday! Better late than...
Thank you, Boris!

Who do you like in the Stanley Cup?

The Birds have their share of injuries. Mullins will be tough to replace. I hope it does not take too long for him to heal. The Orioles signed former Yankee outfielder Aaron Hicks. I don't expect much.

The Indians were the Orioles nemesis when I was young. The last-place team often played like a contender against my first-place birds. I remember a 17-inning game between the O's and Indians! I don't like the name change.

The NBA finals could be interesting.
The Nuggets have maybe the best player in the league and a supporting cast of stars. Miami is a well-coached team with no household names, but they do play well as a team.
We went to Denver for a graduation over the weekend. Everyone, and everyplace is Nuggets crazy!!!

As they should be i guess.

Evening all,

It was a busy day at the office. Primary domain controller decided it didn't want to work properly. It was running, but not servicing the dns for the network. Several reboots with updates and changes being tried. Decided I'd spin it down and move the replica in its place. Wasn't wanting to shut down, so I forced it down. Couldn't get to where I needed, so I turned it back on. Apparently, something must have been hung up in the virtual, and it restarted with all services running normally. Still not sure what was going on. On a virtual, there shouldn't be anything hanging up on a restart.

Sometimes takes more than a restart to clear things.

Side note I fixed steak fajitas for dinner and they were delicious.

so... you unplugged it, did the magic dance for about five seconds, then plugged it back in?

That's what I always doe when tech is acting up

Who do you like in the Stanley Cup?
Neither. However, since Vegas is Commissioner Bettman's favored team, I'll pull for Florida. Ironic that in both leagues, one of the contenders is a South Florida Team.
The Panthers are well coached, Paul Maurice, but so is Vegas. Florida is a talented team and if Goalie Bob stays on his game, they are going to be hard to beat. Vegas is talented also, so it could be one great series.

Better the Birds have their slump now, than in September. Injuries are the X factor with any team. I don't like the Cleveland Baseball Team, or the special treatment their expansion football team got after the Browns became the Ravens.

Today was chilly, never out of the mid sixtys. it's also smokey, very smokey. Wildfires in Nova Scotia, according to TV weather. Tonight'sforecast is weird. Hazy, weatherspeak for smokey). Then fog after 0400 plus showers, through 1000 then sunny and hazy.... For the most part, the weather over the last 10 days or so has been fantastic.
