Todd - Pretty aggressive layout plan. Good luck with that staging helix. Getting into the center may be an issue.
Willie: Yup, aggressive would be a good word for it. Pretty much what I want - long main line runs for somewhat long trains ( 20' max ), with major and minor classification and/or holding yards and a Branch Line or two. Have a ton of room for industry and other house tracks.

Helix's always have issues. Think that I handled the getting in/out part: At a lower deck height of 36" and a squat roller chair I don't think I will have problems. It is that size as I wanted to be under 1.5% grade which *should* allow for trouble free running most of the time granted the track work is perfect. Note the the two inside tracks ( 1.37%, 1.30% ) are for 'down' storage; the other three are 1.25% or less. Where else could you stage 25 trains in 51 Sq Ft? Except for the Helix, almost everything has a 30" or less reach-in so that should not be a problem. And I managed 36" walkways minimum except for one squeeze point of 32".

Figure that this should keep me busy and outa the bars for years!

Afternoon All,

Started out at 72F this morning after a miserable night dealing with Reflux. After getting up I trimmed the hedge and raked around a large pine tree. After that I made 14 more trees and "planted" them on the layout replaced other pine trees. After lunch son and I went outside and bagged up the piles filling 2 large bags. Tomorrow is vacuuming the pool and doing 14 more trees.

David- Great layout scenes.

Willie- More great scenes.

Guy- I wish you guys all best.

Louis- Neat photo.

I hope everyone has a good night.

I realized I don't no how to shingle it. I have to read up on the process.
Swal - Whether asphalt shingles or a metal roof, a layer of roofing felt, commonly called tarpaper, is your first step. Asphalt shingles are probably readily available at most big box stores like Home Depot, Menards or Lowe's - depending which one is in your area. Metal roofs, at least here have about a 1 week lead time, but every piece is cut to fit and they supply all of the screws, trim and bird guards; included in the cost. You gotta drill your own screw holes, but they gave me a written guide for the entire process.

Built a cage for the wife's strawberries today. Darn things keep trying to run away.

Or, maybe the squirrels are digging in the plants. I dunno. Wife said she needed s strawberry cage.

I had 2x2s left over from the old layout. Nasty warped stuff. So it became the cage.

Rewarded myself with an industry book from Kalmbach. Jeff Wilson's Iron Ore Railroads. 26,ooo tons more or something...

Afternoon all,

Seems said council member ignores messages from the person sending them because he doesn't like her. So when stuff doesn't happen because he deletes or ignores said email, don't blame the email system as it is working fine. Other peoples kids....

Huh ????

No idea what you are talking about (specifically) but yeah - people do ignore or delete emails they don't particularly want to get, especially if the email contains criticisms. Like, for example, the Director of Health for the Stueben County NY area. Evidently food poisoning wasn't something that would get her on the front page or the TV so she ignored all correspondence. So much for being a "Public Servant"!!!! And when I complained to Albany about her apathy and ignorance - they ignored me as well!!

I have since found out that there is a thing that you can attach (somehow) to emails that informs you when a person receives and/or opens an email from you. Can't remember what it was though sorry :(

Better pack a poncho! 🌧️⛈️
Oh no! I had not seen the forecast.

I mostly look out the window or open the door and peak my head outside. Today's weather on the phone is pretty accurate too. Tomorrow or any day after... I'll wait and see.

No matter what happens, it will be warm and dry while I'm watching from my couch.

I've been to the Preakness. It was lots of fun when I was young. I'm too old for that madness now!

Morning all,

56° and partly dark, moving on to light. 70° later.

I'm so getting into trouble maybe. City manager send me an email wondering why a council member wasn't receiving email into his city email account. He needs this stuff to work, especially a particular email the council member swears isn't in his city email account and I need to fix it. So I traced the email, connected administratively into the council member's email, and found where he not only received it and read it, but then put it in his deleted items folder. I also found where said email also went to a personal email account he wants his city stuff forwarded to. I took a picture of the email's location and sent it with the findings to the City Manager. And I did because I can...Don't mess with me, I'm a Ghostbuster. 😆

Like dealing with children...

BBL...Maybe.
Who you gonna call?

It’s called a “Read Receipt”.

Tell me about it! I worked Security at the Preakness 79-81. One year I had to stay with Howard Cosell one year. What a pompous windbag he was! the other years I worked the infield. Saw sights I wont soon forget, including a tent turned into a brothel by 2 enterprising girls.
