Good morning from Wisconsin.

Todd, you were in Sun Prairie, Wi.? Next time let me know, I am about 20 minutes from there. If we are home we have plenty of room for the truck and you guys. I guess yesterday I was so concerned about the Texas stuff I read your stuff but it did not sink in.

Covid is back in the county and fairly deadly to the unvaccinated. Those vaccinated are seemingly getting just the flu like symptoms. I don’t want even mild symptoms.

Diet Dr Pepper was $1.99 each for 6 pack of 16.9 oz bottles. Staff at 2 grocery stores were 100% masked for the second week. Shelves at 11am were hit and miss as the aisles at both places were crowed with product to be placed. Today though is the main grocery run because of the gas money back scheme. Today get $.50 per gallon off if you spend $100. Terry says she is stocking up on meat today so we should hit 200. My big need is granola as the soda was purchased yesterday

Memorial Day 3 day weekend coming up. Brat Fest, the largest in the USA is back at full strength. Always a good time with some great bands on 3 stages. We will get there Saturday afternoon weather depending. The crowds are not as crazy and the food is just as good as in the evening. The bands will be good, they just won’t be the headliners.

Today, the weather will be dryer then the all day rain on Wednesday but T-storms are predicted from 3-7 today. I should be in the train room then spraying primer on the following.

Enjoy the day

Good Morning!

Anniversaries are another day we don't celebrate. We've been together for 20yrs now, are still loyal to each other, and still need each other. Both of us have no interest in remembering the pain of our histories. We try to look forward, not back.

Darn! I measured that gate width 3 times, and still cut it too short. I don't usually make those kind of mistakes and I can't explain why it happened. Must have been distracted or fell asleep walking. - Now I need to build another gate out of my own pocket.

Jaz Avally - The Potter 3 decker Knight bus looks cool in my opinion. I know they actually existed, but, they must be a joyride in high winds. I wouldn't want to ride in one. - I'm probably one of the few people on this planet who's never read a Potter book, or been able to watch an entire Potter movie straight through.

TLOC - Thanks for that high compliment back a few pages. Indeed, that was a very high compliment.

Troy - Too bad about those baby Doves. I actually saw a Morning Dove flying around our street yesterday. Quite a rare bird, this far up north.

I don't know what I pressed, but, weirdness has just happened to my PC display. Suppose I'll go make a new gate, and try to fix this thing later.

Have a good one!

Morning from here where it's 55 going to 83 latbetter last nighter under a sunny and breezy sky!

Things were laid out better to me last night. The thing is that there are actually TWO separate sets of silver service, but all of it rests on one tray. One set is larger than the other and in the division - wifey agreed that she would be happy with the smaller set! Well, then yesterday, little miss smartie pants decided that it was all ONE set and should not be separated and she wanted it all kept together. The Spousal Unit said no that it had already been decided between the 4 siblings and she was not going to "back it up". That's what started the fray!
Any sort of monetary value does not interest the Spousal Unit - the historical sentiment is that it came from the old world way back when and passed from several generations hence why there are TWO sets.

In other news, I spent the day cleaning/packing all the RV stuff as we are going to sell it (if we can). We will be losing our "parking" at the ranch and with my current health status and the fact that it is just not being used as we had intended - prolly best as it is a depreciating asset.
Long story short the damn airbag light came on yesterday and after looking at several U
Tube's - maybe it's just a quick reset?

Not a darn egg in the house - and only very limited bread. Off to the store!!!!

Good Morning All. Clear and 55° with sunshine for the first time in a week.

I am not going to make my usual rambling picture-laden post this morning, as I slept in and have to get ready for the weekly grocery trek. I was in the train shed yesterday and I will update next time. Still haven't found that damn chain though.

School shootings - Since the Columbine shooting in 1999, over 70% of the shooters in school shootings have been 18 years old or younger. I personally believe it is a combination of factors brought up by Jeff and Ken (D&J) that have led to this. That's my piece.

Everybody have a great day.

This past 6-months or so, I've made a conscious effort to eat a healthy lunch, and I've lost another 10 pounds.

I'm going to risk "insider trading" rules, and give you all a stock tip. I've been eating healthy, and therefore, it has been a LONG time since I've had any nectar of the Gods, aka Skyline Chili.... I believe I have single-handedly caused their sales to tank.

On the other side of the coin, I have a feeling that whatever companies make hummus and grow carrots are having great sales increases.

Wife made cookies earlier this week.

With her mother being a fragile diabetic, keeping something laced with sugar on hand is their preferred method to help her avoid a crash.

But, I then get addicted to sugar whenever wife makes cookies (loooooove the dough from toll house recipe cookie). Wife only takes mom about half a dozen, then wonders why those she leaves in our kitchen disappear so fast.

DUH... you left cookies where I could get to them...

Wish wife would make carrots and hummus instead of cookies. I might drop this weight. I got back to 217 before she made cookies... I'm back up 5 pounds since then.

Morning again,

Have a follow up meeting with Da Feds again through the noon hour.

Still raining and supposed to remain in the 50's for the day. Wichita had 2.99" yesterday with about another 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch Monday night. Expect about another 1" today. At my house 40 miles east of the Wichita airport, I've only had around another inch yesterday with about that much again expected today and tonight.

On the "holier than thou" mentality of some members on some websites, every site has some of those kind of members. I no longer go to some car sites for that reason. So it isn't an MRH only thing.

Try to BBL.
Hell I left uk sites to come here for that very reason :) and found yOuse guys :D

You just made me stop and figure out how long my wife has been officially training me, 55 years, 5 months and 5 days.
Long ago we decided on the three D's; death or dismemberment to be considered, but no divorce.
Many people have no staying power, we have 35 years so far and could go a lot longer - well I might, he may think bugger this is longer than a life sentence. we have our ups our downs the odd shouting match but so far no visits to the a and e lol. I love him to bits but he knows how to piss me off, and the same applies, married that long if you work out the good parts then your aware of the soft spots….
I go off to my boudoir to sulk - original context - my own bedroom, where I read and play computer or tv until he finds a reason to come to chat, it is very rare I go ‘apologise’ I bear grudges with a vengeance, but it takes shit to p me off. I am not a forgiving person, I know that is a lack in my character but my thoughts are you do something petty dishonest uncalled for then why should I forgive you, and the family hate I can remember sonething I don’t like years after the happening and remember the details bear a grudge yes I hold my hand up, but I am a good friend and honest even when dissembling trying to avoid throwing myself in a pit of 🔥 fire lol.
My most annoying trait is putting something safely away and then being totally unable to find it, annoying if my kit, seriously annoying if someone elses…ooops. The other half got a gps for my purse, and my house keys, I just wish I could attach one to my hair brush! I am always putting it down in the stupidest of places then scattily looking for it. at least we can ping my phone, so far I have not lost the car, but it too now has a find me….I am sure the other half thought…only time before she does it…grins. I have misplaced car keys, but then so did the other half;f and he kept blaming me, when it turned up in H~is trousers sonething I could not have worn I was so chuffed 3 months I think missing in action. Lol. scatterbrained, usually because whenever I am doing something people need me to do something for them so I drop what I am doing….my excuse and I stick to it…not that it gets me anywhere….The other half’s big issue us he is far too often right in an argument, it is just SO annoying.

Only 26 years and a couple of weeks here. Unfortunately, that will be my record, unless I get married tomorrow and live to be 96… Both are equally unlikely.
Next year and 97 is always a possibility, never say never, you won the lottery once, I am sure she would love you enough to wish you happiness, although I warn my other half watch out for someone who tags on to you wants to get married asap, cos that can lead to a quickie divorce and half your assets gone….

Zero years.......at the moment lol

Was married for 5 years and 2 months until she cheated. No going back to that ever!

Still haven't found what I am looking for, I was dating a gal recently but we put that on hold per her request due to her father's illness. No rush I aint going anywhere. Don't know if we will go out again or not but time will tell. Mean time I am fishing and traveling. If fate makes a change then so be it.
I agree once a cheater …..
being happy in one’s own company is a valuable asset
i can do, my other half hates being by himself.
You do what you want when you want, and I have two kids who on certain occasions I could wilfully murder, so they are not always a blessing, but a lonely old age can be. Hard. I would take up bridge, whist or something similar, prior to the knee I would have said dancing, when Younger loved travelling but in todays world I think thanks but no thanks not as safe, prefer my own home and comforts. I like eating fish, but not certain about actually fishing. I would be a batty old lady with 🐩 dogs…um I may have already reached that lol.Yeah if I lose the other half I might get a boyfriend but no husband and another couple of well trained Dobermans would see me right. plus if the boyfriend gets any…two dobermans :D evil grin…..Takedown…..lol…

I got tired of looking for stuff so started putting things in the same place or 1 or 2 places.

If I don't have a designated place for something, it goes to the first place I looked (after I find it).

Works, guaranteed!

Setting up a new train room like I am now doing, however, is a little rough, until I figure out where everything goes.

Sitting here getting caught up on the last three pages of posts.
My wife's appointment with the back doctor for 6 weeks scheduled evaluation was postponed by a surgical emergency. She got the call 15 minutes before we left for the 43 mile trip to his office. At least, it was before we left and was not a waste of $15.00 in gas.

In my spare time over the last 3 weeks, I have begun constructing a homemade O scale mill house kit from clap board wood. We need three more houses for the lumber mill area on the club On30 layout. There are 3 different builders modifying the same basic plan.
One member drew the plans and listed the bill of materials on notebook paper, then purchased the sheet clapboard wood and windows. We made a kit by drawing the house sides and ends on the back of the clapboard; added strip wood for trim and framing, heavy poster board for roofing and porches, heavy butcher paper for roll roofing and cut pieces of dowel for foundation piers.
I had forgotten some of the challenges of working with thin wood and paper products being painted and glued together. I have taken a few pictures, so I may post them in the structures section when I finish.
Gotta go as it is time to decide what I will fix for supper.
