Good Morning all!
43F and partly
Prayers to all the folks associated with the latest shooting. As to why - who knows. Hate is a learned thing, you just are not born with it in ya. Where he learned is a project for the reader.

Anyway, we are almost ready to go. Truck is clean and pretty much has all of our stuff in it. Suspect that I will drive outa here bout 0830 tomorra. Wife will be in her 'sleep time' and I will try not to wake her although she probably will be up for a couple of hours to get trailer and on the road. We split our times to what we normally do: I usually am up early, she stays up late. So I drive from 0300 to 1500 whilst she is 1500 to 0300. This seems to work out good as our sleep patterns stay pretty much the same, if that makes sense to ya.

Mower day, not mowing but getting them ready for the guy that is coming in to do it. Powered push mower fired right up, rider is another story. Would not start last fall to get it into the barn. Less than 2 years old too. Will play with that in a few. Weed wacker usually fires right up, we will see.

Have one pellet stove that is not starting, if I get round2it to figure out what it going on, good. OTOH, it is not that cold and can wait until next home time.

Later!

Back again and outside on the deck. The sun has broken through and the temperature just hit 70f.

Just watched a 3rd period replay of the Oiler/Kings NHL game. The winning goal was a thing of beauty and a never quit attitude by a very fine player. McDavid is a winner in my book. Now he has an decent team.

I breezed through the 2nd and 3rd periods of the Toronto/Tampa game 7. What a difference between the Oilers and Maple Leaf. TheOilers won their game because of their attitude and player leadership. Toronto lost that game because while they have a wonder team they lack attitude and leadership by players. plus their management sucks.

The son who is 37 today is off with his 3 friends, sister and niece and mom on the AtV’s not horses which really surprised me. The grandson stopped out on the deck to say hi. He and his dad asked if I wanted to go hit some golf balls, said thanks but no. Another sport for the 8 year old but just starting the golf experience.

I took 10 steaks out of the freezer which is almost empty and ready for us to leave town. Grilling for the evening meal at 6 if you are in town. Fresh greens and veggies left over from last nights gathering should get finished off this evening.

I will be out on the deck. I am pretty exhausted which is concerning as I am back on my thyroid replacement meds. The doctor appointment is for 2:30 on 5/19. The doctor will discuss my treatment options and I have already let her know I want locations in Maui for treatment. I am anxious to leave Wisconsin for a month or so.

I have no idea where someone would be inspired to gun down strangers in a store.
In other news: Congressional members support protesting against the repeal of the abortion right.
City leaders withdraw more funding from their police forces.
People are fired from their jobs for having a bible in their possession on company property.
Statue in park is dedicated in remembrance to local drug dealer.

On my way to my fishing hole I saw these so on my way back I stopped and snapped a few pics....these were located north of Putnam and south of Ticonderoga in a siding off the o'l Delaware & Hudson River line. This line runs all the way to Plattsburgh on the west side of Lake Champlain then to Canada border.

It's now operated by CP

Afternoon All,

Started with some chores then did the plaster cloth over the lattice work I did yesterday. I actually only needed 1-1/2 rolls (I had 5) of plaster cloth. I found years ago that using plaster cloth for casts is much cheaper than buying W/S or hobby store brands. I buy it in bulk online. I used a lot of it putting in the back part of the layout (all the way around). I'd estimate I have used at least 40 rolls.

Thank you for the photo likes yesterday.

Terry- That s**ks. I'm sorry.

Willie- Nice looking building and town.

TomO- Happy Birthday to your son. I think a lot of the hate we're seeing is the spread of hate groups on the internet with little or no supervision. They can say pretty much anything. It seems to be the method of choice of recruitment worldwide.

Guy- Thank you for the kind words. The truck looks awesome. I've never had much luck with Sylvan kits (too ham handed). Not every state allows you to have them. Florida requires a permit but it's free. They're bred by a breeder, so they normally have never been outside except as kits.

Joe- Interesting photo.

Louis- Actually no, she had already had 3 snacks!

James- Nice 1:1 photos.

I hope everyone has a good night.

Good afternoon, all. A very warm day here in H-town, not a breeze to be had.
Flo, a vanilla malted please.
I, like the rest of you, wonder where these people learn to hate at such a young age. How do you hate someone you never met? My parents taught me many things, but number one was, treat others as you want to be treated.

Out in the train shed, no wait that's Willie's line.

I ordered 3 American Model Builders structures from Fifer Hobbies. Again, Model Trains Stuff had better prices, but again they are out of stock.
So while I await delivery these pics will have to do.

I don't miss mowing the grass. (I still have dreams, or nightmares, about it though.)

I was sorting my small parts bin. It seems the last time I must have done this was when I still used horn-hook couplers. There sure were a lot of them. Found a Tyco 5-pole open-frame motor.

Found this, also:

Morning all,

Weekend was a bust for trains.

Did dig up the "leaking" pipe only to find it wasn't leaking, So after 30 hours, I refilled the hole and replaced the mulch. Sprinkler system working fine. I also mowed Friday afternoon, which was good that I did as the daughter needed stuff done at her house. Got called in for a couple of hours on Saturday. I get travel time when off hours and the job literally too me 10 minutes. Got home and pulled down the stoop porch and then I went to work on her laundry closet. The bifold doors are of a size that are special order and pretty expensive. So she bought a new hardware kit including the track. One door I had already plugged the and redrilled the roller holes, but this weekend I replaced the track and we test fitted the first door. So now she is going to sand and repaint the door and I'll rehang them in a couple of weeks. I still need to fill and redrill the holes in the second door as the old hardware was loose enough to make a mess of the door. I also epoxy filled the cracks in the concrete front stoop so in the next couple of weeks we can get the new posts set for the overhang. Currently she has the old wrought iron style that were popular in the 50's\60's when the house was built. Of course they are rusted badly. This is all in prep for the new siding and windows coming in August. They are going to paint after the siding is replaced, as everything that needs painted can be reached safely with an 8ft step ladder. 90% can be reached (at least by me) with a 3ft step ladder.

Yesterday was spent recovering and doing laundry, church (we usually do Saturday evening mass), and groceries. I twisted funny Saturday and put a kink in my back just below the shoulder blades. The kink lower in the back does have my bulging disc in my neck feeling better.

New IT Tech starts this morning...Hopefully I can be less busy.

Currently 55° and sunny with a high of 81° later. Some possible spotty storms overnight.

Good morning! We had some storms blow through last night that woke up our dog... Who then woke me up. So I have been awake since around 3:30. Going to be a long day.

Just poured my second cup.

We spent time yesterday shopping for clothes. I hate clothes shopping.

Sometimes Monday mornings are a welcome respite, lol

Morning! 55f going to look for 84f this afternoon. Yesterday's high of 87f was actually very nice wth the low humidity here.

SMH, Patrick! How does one dig up a leaking pipe which isn't really leaking after all?
You got me on that one - better stick with repairing computers, eh?

On the home front - think I will try to not say much more about myself. Off to see the Pulmonologist this morning. If I take off the O2 - occasionally high 70's to mid 80's is best I can see -- with it on, goes right up to the low 90's. I may be stuck with the O2 forever ... hard to digest as I have always been outdoors active.
Of course - I have ZERO energy level below 88 or so and lower leg, ankle, and feet swelling indicate a damaged and weak heart. Doesn't sound good to me?

Couple of egg, sausage, and cheez burritos this morning, Florence, please with a diet DP to drink - just coffee right now, please!

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin. A bit crisp at 54f degrees so I am indoors and not out on one of the decks. It is gorgeous looking with a bright cloud free sky. High will be mid 70’s.

A walk later will be stretched from the mile I have been doing to 2 miles. I am trying to build up the strength but I have been easily fatigued since surgery. We had a party Saturday night and a good friend of Terry’s is my Endocrinologist. She saw how tired I was Saturday and told me to lower my doze of Levothyroxine and we will discuss it Wednesday at my appointment. I walked by the hobby bench many times a day going to my soda refrigerator in the train room. Everything from Thursday when I last sat at the bench is still there.

BASKETBALL I did not watch the Bucks/Celtics game, I saw a couple minutes of the Dallas destruction of the PhoenixSuns game 7. That was unexpected.

HOCKEY Saw some of Pens and Rangers and while I was sort of rooting for the Pens I definitely will not miss MR. Perfect Crosby. The Flames/Dallas game I actually watched in its entirety including 0T with the son. He and Joe Pawleski of the Dallas Stars are friends from about 8years old as Hockey mites completing with each as kids and then high school. But, I was very delighted that the Flames won. A great game

Yesterday, the son turned 37. Wow, he is getting old. Anyway last night he mentioned to me he sold another video game that he developed alone this time. All previous games have been sold in partnership with his best friend that he met at age 5 in Sunday School. This was his. He asked if there was anything mom or I needed. I said just your thanks for growing up right. Then I said, yeah, don’t buy anymore used planes at auction. Those really bother me. He did ask for some tax advice. I told him we will sit down with his mom and go over his questions today. I almost asked why us for advice and not the uncle. But I didn’t because I know he mostly disagrees with my brother about the excessive claim the government is out to get me tax wise attitude he has. Yeah, he is getting old! We are very proud of both our kids.

TRAINS, I seemed to have lost the hobby mojo again. Terry thinks it’s because of my slower then normal for me recovery from the throat surgery. Out on the decks Saturday and Sunday I did put the IPadPro down. I read a couple books, yeah turned real pages. One of them was a Tom Clancy novel from years ago that I couldn’t get past 10 pages. The other was the 4th book of lance mindheim I have in the RR library. Model Railroading as an Art that I have read at least twice before and maybe finally truly grasping it after reading it again yesterday.

Good Morning All. Clear and 63° after a surprise thundershower passed through last night. Never was in the forecast even while it was happening, and this wasn't one of those small isolated ones. Came from Oklahoma and stretched all of the way over to Arkansas and Louisiana. Moderately high winds and 0.6" in the rain gauge. I slept through it all. Missed the total eclipse of the moon, the Super Flower Blood Moon, because of the storm clouds that moved in ahead around 8:00 pm. The front that blew through will hold today's high to maybe 88°, back to the upper 90's the rest of the week.
Wife and I went and treated ourselves to steak and ribs at the Outback last night. Wow! What used to cost us $80 (drinks and 22% tip included) now cost $99. And that was after our Dine Rewards discount. Noticed that gasoline which was $4.15/gal last Thursday had gone up to $4.36/gal.

Joe - My grocery excursions are longer because I spend much time looking at the college girls and young housewives who are also shopping. I am able to use both electronic and paper coupons at our grocery store. In addition, my Kroger membership adds extra discounts automatically at the checkout, cashier or not. It's the paper ones that require human intervention at the robo-checkout.
Guy - Great progress on the truck model. What do you mean about the windshield? I also find TV to be a huge waste of time.

I'll be back later as we have to make an unexpected run to town right now.

Everybody have a great day.
