Yo: Another chilly day here in Jersey. No new photos of the layout, but I will share a photo of Steam Engine #2 from the Arsenal Street station, in Watertown NY, sometime around 1900.

Okay, I think it's time to ditch MSN as a home page. I use it just because I have to have "something" when I open my browser, but the latest articles-- well--
"Lynard Skynard set for comeback after losing three members in a plane crash." Unless there was another one, I thought that happened back in the 1970s... And they're reporting on it like it's current news.

what up coffee friends

friday! Yay! today normal work, airport is up and running good. tomorrow 2nd tournament as a TD for the season. but it will rain the whole day, that sucks. throwing frisbees in the rain is not really fun. but well we have to do it!

wish everyone a great friday!

Good morning gang!

38° under clear skies with a high expected day of 68°.

My truck is all loaded up and ready for a trip to the landfill this morning. Other than that, there’s nothing on my agenda so we will have to see what kind of trouble I can get into today.
Stay tuned

I'm up

Coffee from the ninja please. Started adding a splot of localish honey to the brew each morning to help get used to midwest pollen again.

Had one of those nights where I was awake at 12:30 am and the tummy rumbled just enough to keep me awake. Not a bad rumble, but a rumble. Like a lava lamp releasing a bubble of gas that didn't want to go anywhere, it just wanted to float around.

Yesterday, I painted little toy soldiers, and listened to/watched about half of a How-to course on using an AI system to aid in writing my cozy mysteries. Need to finish both of those unrelated projects today.

Wife says it's deep dish pizza at home today. So I'll post pics later. And try not to burn it this time.

Good morning from wet and still raining So Central Wisconsin. It’s 48f degrees now heading into the high 70’s. The rain per radar should stop in the next hour as it’s moving east towards the big Lake currently called Michigan.

Yesterday’s medical went much better than I was hoping. The Angioplasty went well because no stents were needed. Based on past ones I knew I would not but the scans after the stress test last week showed shadowing. The doctors told me that is clogging and needed…

I start new blood pressure medication today, unrelated to yesterday. I have to go to the pharmacy this morning to get it. The only restriction I have from the procedure yesterday is to let the entry point heal in the groin. Lifting anything more than the 1gallon of milk is forbidden. Since we don’t have gallons of milk around this house that should be an easy one.

For only the second time in 25 years we may not be going out for an Easter Brunch. We always take the daughter’s family. The SIL’s mom and stepdad show up but now pay their own. They never have offered anytime they have ever gone to dinner to pay for the kids or us. I stopped buying for them just before Covid. They now decided the places we go to are too expensive for Easter Brunch so they told the SIL to hold it at his place. Well next week they move in with us as their house is sold and closing Wednesday the 2nd. The SIL has to tell them it won’t be held here. I do not want his mom in my house. She is as close to the most hateful person I have met.

Lased away the afternoon and night yesterday. Last night I didn’t like any of the hockey match ups so I started watching the Landman TV series. The furniture movers are coming this afternoon to move the bedrooms around. Terry and I are going to the downstairs guest bedroom and emptying her office. The kids stuff will be here Tuesday. This is going to be strange but maybe fun with the grandkids.

2 things to do today beside the pharmacy run is to head over to both the house build project I am overseeing for the kids and the daughter’s studio/office build. Just a walk around I’m not meeting with the contractor that is next week.

Hopefully some weathering today. The 2 train shows the guys did last weekend went well. One event sold 20 cars the other sold 2. This weekend the guys are heading to somewhere in Minnesota or Iowa (I forget where). I replaced what they sold and they picked the models up Wednesday. for a show. Again I paid for 1/3 of the tables.

Enjoy the day

Good mornin' crew. Under mostly cloudy skies it's 45 with a wind chill of 39 here in Cheyenne. Winds are WNW @ 9 with no significant gusts reported. Any day the wind doesn't blow is a good day in southeast Wyoming. Looking for a high this afternoon of 68 and a low tonight of 39. Last couple of days were absolutely beautiful. Several high temperature records were broken including here in Cheyenne. Won't last long though as rain is forecast for tomorrow turning to snow later. Accumulations of 1-2" are expected, ending Sunday AM.

Dr visit went well yesterday. Lab work looked good, no changes to meds. Starting to feel halfway decent again. Afterwards, went to Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Lowes. Picked up some paper for photo background, a sheet of matte board to go on the wall behind the workbench, and some Fast'n'Final spackling to prep the garage wall for layout backdrop. Picked up dinner at Wingstop. Finished up the day at the workbench, working on some rolling stock and watching highlights from MLB opening day.

No doctors or shopping today. Planning on first day of real work on the layout, prepping the wall behind the layout for the backdrop. Going to paint a generic looking sky directly on the drywall. Rain expected tomorrow, so I'll let spackling dry for a couple of days and paint next week.

Best wishes to all dealing with medical issues. Gettin' old ain't for pussies...

Y'all have a good day, enjoy your weekend, and take care.

Good Morning All. Cloudy and 62°. Received 0.40" of rain overnight, but the main area of rain was and still is east and southeast of here. Dallas is getting a good rain, but Ft Worth 30 miles west of Dallas is not...it stretches to the Louisiana border and up into Arkansas and Oklahoma. Wish that I had gotten a bit more, but there is still a chance for a few more hours. Temperature today in the upper 60's, tomorrow with the sunshine, mid-80's. Up and down like that for the next 10 days depending on the cloud cover and cold front Monday. Probably more than you wanted to know!

Just an average grocery trek yesterday except the Lululemon's were out in force. Some looked real good. The constant change in gas prices saw a dime drop from last week to $2.79/gal. I had to stop at Home Depot to purchase a new 20 ton hydraulic bottle jack to raise a small part of the house foundation. My old jack was ruined during the tornado last year when the roof/walls to the barn disappeared and it got rained on for several days. I didn't actually recover it until late fall and attempts at salvaging it have not been successful.

I didn't do much out in the train shed yesterday, as I spent some more time in the garden before the expected rain. But I did run the shop vac around the areas that I moved stuff around from under the layout. Of course for the next month or so, I won't remember where some stuff is now at. I also started my next small project from the extensive list of to do stuff.
I had built this DPM kit known as "The Seymour Building" in April of 2022, and temporarily placed it on the layout in downtown Ft Wish. I did window treatments for the second floor but had not determined what type of businesses to put on the ground floor.

It's time to complete it and add figures. I spent a few minutes yesterday cleaning it up a bit, mainly washing windows. I'm looking at maybe a cafe on the left and an appliance dealer on the right. Upstairs is unknown currently. Maybe a residential apartment. I have another one of the same kit elsewhere on the layout, painted differently, with a bar on the left, a men's wear store on the right and a boutique upstairs. I'm looking through the stock of interior pictures that I have printed in the past, to select the right ones. I'll also need to look at signs or I'll have to make something on the computer.
Here's what the other one looks like.

Stay tuned.

Hughie - Looks like the most severe rain missed you. Wife tells me that they're closing businesses in Port Aransas and the surrounding areas. Our son has a beach house there.
Terry - I don't use MSN as my home page, but I generally look at it a couple of times a day. I have gotten used to their "retro" articles although they don't reference them as such.

For those who care, today is Lady Gaga's birthday; I believe that she's 39.
Just started drizzling again, so there is hope! Everybody have a great day.

Good afternoon all. Had the therapist here. I learned a lot; so much so that I have to have an x-ray on my throat. I will be informed when.

Meanwhile. Flo, Afternoon Tea with double scones and jam with cream. Anyone else visiting the Diner today, put their drink on my tab.

Good morning, all! Well, it's looking like the heavy rains forecasted are not going to materialize. Further down the coast is getting soaked. Unless something develops this evening, we should be good. I'm not sure what the dermatologist removed yesterday, but it took 13 stitches to close it up. Sore last night but just tender to the touch this morning.
Since we had planned for a rainy day today, nothing is on the agenda. Hence I should be able to do some work on another Mudd Creek kit.

STAY SAFE
