Good mornin' Crew. It's 32 and clear in Cheyenne this morning. Winds have finally calmed down a bit WNW @ 9mph. Forecast high for this afternoon of 75 may break the 74 mark set in 2012. No precipitation in the forecast. Cardiologist and shopping with NJ(ret) this afternoon.
Yesterday we got the rest of the flattened moving boxes and assorted trash cleaned out of the garage, swept out and storage containers stacked. Looks like I might get to start some actual work on the layout itself this weekend..

Boris: Good start on the flour mill. A lot of Walthers structures lend themselves well to kit bashing and mingling.
Willie: Since moving to Cheyenne, I have been thoroughly impressed by the level of medical care and the services available to seniors. Really liking it here.
Coffee: for years here it was the ubiquitous Mr Coffee 4-cupper and Folgers Columbian - about 4 years ago made the change to a Keurig Mini + Eight'o'Clock Columbian Peaks
Guitars: My youngest brother has all the musical talent in this family. Been playing since he was a little kid. Played in the same band for almost 20 years. Links are to the last two videos they made before they "retired" the band. My brother is the one in the cowboy hat and long hair...

Y'all have good day and take care.

Hello again..

Went out for breakfast this morning, last minute and unplanned. Ended up at a diner that it’s been at least a year or more since we last have been there. Excellent food and typical small town atmosphere where because we are the unknown entity they ask where we are from, how long lived there, names, etc. Our original destination about 3 blocks away has closed per the sign in the door. We were there per Terry’s log in January.

Place we were at had a sign on the door and on the menu saying that eggs are the daily supplier price or Market Rate eggs. I’ve only seen that in Wisconsin for Lobster or Crab pricing. Today’s rate is $5.40 per dozen or $.45 each plus 10% or basically $.50 each. Another homemade sign also gave the prices from 10/1, 11/1, 12/1, 1/1, 2/1 ( the highest) 3/1 and today. Doubled since 10/1. It is what it is but the food was well worth it.

Heading to the trains

Good afternoon. I just got a blast from the past. I guess the toll road scam isn’t as successful as they’d like, since I just got a call about my car’s extended warranty.
Must be the day for scams!

I got a text earlier that stated my Apple wallet had been used fraudulently for gift cards and what not.
I need to click the link immediately to resolve.

Funny thing is, I don't have an Apple wallet set up.

Wow! It has been awhile for one of those. I don’t miss those.

Terry and I both got the scam email yesterday about tolls. Funny how the scammers got our name as the toll roads that we have the tolling subscriptions to are not in either of our names

They send them to everyone. I'm on FB and I commented about it. Had bunch of friends in Spokane, WA say they get them all the time. The closest toll road is in Seattle, a couple hundred miles away from them.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with toll roads,

It's Troy again.

Made a second pot of coffee this morning, just to try a cup without cream and sweetner. It was good, First thing in the morning, though, I still like my cream and sweetner.

Yesterday I spent all day and evening chilled. To the point where I wanted to hibernate.

Finally figured out that laying on the pavement for about 15 minutes without gloves while changing the "little old lady's" tire was the root cause. It was probably close to freezing when I was helping her. Today, I'm much more even temperatured. Tonight, it's burgers from the grill, and Onion Rings.

Just found out a new midwest taco place opened up right outside of our neighborhood. Gent who owns it, wanted to build a strip mall on old ag property with a barn and outbuilding. He tore down the barn, but did a bunch of "converting" to make the outbuilding into a 3x larger strip mall. Not sure how he got that past the building inspectors. But the zoning commission had a fit when he went in for his operating permits. They let the strip mall go through, but kept his restaurant (his second location for the brand) jumping through hoops for over a year.

Our condo community had a few qualms that initially slowed his permitting, and that probably gave zoning enough time to figure out he'd been shady. By the time our board signed off on his "neighborly" issues being met, zoning was pissed at what he'd done.

Wife said she saw a sign saying NOW OPEN for the taco biz. So we'll have to go soon and see if the tacos were worth the wait.

The scams that have been plaguing me are mostly phone calls, with a few texts, all about the approval of my personal loan. The underwriters have a few questions but otherwise its approved and I need to call in or click a link or whatever to resolve the issues and arrange for the loan proceeds...

Got two calls today. One or two yesterday. Been getting them for a month or more now.

Speaking of coffee, we decided to join the evil k cup cult a few years ago, for the convenience factor. Bought a kuerig supreme from Costco. After 6 months, it died. Being Costco, I took it back, bought another one. It lasted a year. Then dead. We are currently on number 5, the last one survived just over a year. If it wasn’t for the Costco return policy, I would have probably fixed it, I’m pretty sure it’s a thermal cutoff that dies. But why waste my time. Maybe they’ll start building better machines when they get them sent back.

I received four books yesterday.

Well howdy there internet peeps, and those who weren't included in Nat Security group chats!

(And if you were, why are you here?)

It's troy again.

I'm up, not sure what today holds. May paint some more.

I had to do some surgery on my big archangel model. I wanted to switch to the sword from the spear...

The sword above began as a two handed variant. The blade was twice as long as pictured, and the hilt was longer. I had to match the paint job on the existing angel.

Below is the completed joint. I started with plastic glue since I had bare plastic in the joint. Then I added CA glue to lock it in place while the plastic. Then drilled and added a pin to the joint with more CA glue. Then added another layer of CA glue with baking soda for strength. Then hit it with some paint. She just barely fits into the storage tote.
