If I'm having these issues, imagine what a non-tech-savvy user would be going through.
My biggest issue with this update was all the unused apps that I deleted are back. A trip to the settings menu resolved this until the next update. Oh yeah, my photo file disappeared from my onboard Solid drive...The handful of photos on the cloud drive are still there... From what I understand Apple is equally wonky so I may as well deal with a system I still comprehend.

I have been spending a lot of time working on structures and scenery on the layout.

Francis Asbury ME Church 03_24_2025.jpg

Eventually this church, and a group of row houses will be nestled adjacent to some heavy industry, just like in the old neighborhood. More work to do here. Building the actual row house background is next.

Got out my Gibson SG for the first time in about 4 years and it didn't go well. How I ever had a band 60 years ago I don't know. It was like I was just starting to learn guitar all over again. I may have to sell it. I bought it for $1,100.00 about 12 years ago. I don't feel like learning everything all over again. Fingers tips are way too soft. Unable to place my fingers on the cords correctly. I think I'll just stick with the electronic piano. Much easier on the fingers.
Swal

Been there, done that. Dragged out my electric guitar, couldn't remember any cords and lead lines. Haven't played since my brother The Bum, sold my Pre-Columbian Strat.

I'm here... looking up new coffee makers. Mine has a case of pink slime on the water level window that keeps coming back... so it's time for new.

Looking at the Ninja.

Because I like my coffee stealthy!

My old cuisinart get's vinegar through it every 4-6 weeks, but it's past its prime. And the vinegar doesn't seem to be knocking the bacteria levels down as long. I even leave the lid open and let it air dry after brewing.

So, during errands, I'll be getting a new coffee maker.

Good morning gang!

42° under partly cloudy skies with a high today expected of 57°.

Have to do battle with the MVA today. I renewed the registration on the truck with historic tags on February 1 I have never received them. Honestly, I didn’t even think about it until I was walking through the garage last night after taking out the trash, look down and realized the tags were expired. According to the MVA’s website, the transaction was completed on February 1 and I assume they mailed them out, but I never did get them. This should be fun today pitting to governmental agencies against one another to find out what happened to my tags. Good thing the truck is in hibernation for now.

I finally got most everything working the way I want, though it was a several-hours-long ordeal. I do feel sorry for the average person that knows just enough to surf the web and check their email, they’ll be forced to find a professional to help.

I was in IT support for over ten years before I had a dose of common sense and left to join the railways...

Even now some twenty years later, I still get frustrated by computers and technology, every time there is a Windows update I have to spend time removing all the stuff they have put back on that I removed after the previous update (mostly the AI nonsense such as co-pilot etc).

I am still my parents IT support guy...

Good morning all!

Currently 35F heading up to 53F. Hopefully the winds will stay away. Seems like its been windy for several weeks
straight, making it unpleasant to do anything outside.

Dog has a grooming appointment today. She loves the car ride but as soon as we pull into the parking lot and she
realizes where we are, she starts to go wacko! Should be fun!

Not much else going on yet, hopefully can keep it that way!

Have a safe day everyone!

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those with wheels.

It's Troy again. Back from my good karma run.

Went to the grocery, and then spent my morning with this:

tire 1.jpg

Not my car. And I discovered the new Hondas don't have an emergency brake as a pedal or pull up handle. Hmmmm...

While I was at the self checkout, a "little old lady" (maybe in her 70s, and I'm 60... but thats how she referred to herself) leaned over the divider.

Excuse me sir? Are you any good changing tires?....

Well, I haven't changed one in over 15 years, but I'll give it a go.

Toughest part was figuring out where to put the jack. the only diagram on the spare tools was on the jack, and it didn't match the underside of the car. I could see the divots where the garage lift pads would fit, but nothing that looked like the diagram. So best guess, and the car rose as I twisted the jack.

No Ralphie and his old man Curse Words were uttered.... No, not even a Fudge... but I did make a joke about it as "little old lady" insisted on twisting off the lug nuts once I had them broke loose, and I was busy on jack handle twisting.

Once I got the wheel off, she said she hit a pot hole and then the car started making noise... Wonder if this had anything to do with that noise?

I dunno. What do you mechanics think? Will that just "Buff out" with some elbow grease?

I got a hug in thanks, though I didn't want to return it due to dirty hands.

And I purchased my new coffee maker.

I hear it only makes coffee when you can't see it brewing. :p

So, I'm hoping my flat tire Karma is filled up, and I shall be eventless for another 15 years.
