Good Morning All!

32F @ 73% severe clear with lots of stars. To get to 55F later today, upper 40's to upper 50's with night lows mid 30's through the week.

Tomorra is the start of Spring/Summer stuff. Besides the HoneyDu list, have to finish a couple of things that got left out last Fall. Ya, and we can burn too and have permit. Have a huge piles just waiting for the torch. Garbage run for all the crap that has piled up is 1st in the list. Most is from the Train Cave. Can't get to it when the ground is wet, or has more than 6" of white. Getting 5 yard load of gravel to make me a road for inclement weather access and fix'n the gates to make them easier for use. Need an additional load of top soil to cover up the ground work I did last fall for the Gray Water septic. I really trashed that area trying to get-r-done before white flied! Maria has a 'rock bucket' coming in as we are getting too old for all the bending and lifting. We grow rocks if you remember.

Had a stare down going on, but did not get the camera out fast enough! When I 1st saw them, thought that Fluffy was going to jump on the tall dog. She was hunched up, butt wiggling and it looked like 'pounce' time. No clue what she would do after that though.

I am finally done with a couple of web sites; if they can ever be done. These sites allow trusted users to add/delete/edit just about any of the topics, pictures too; so I am out of the loop unless technical problems. That means more time for trains. Because some of the fix'n of stuff is in the house, I have time in the mornings before anybody gets up to go out and work in the Cave. Since the Cave is getting cleaned out and I can move around with long boards/4x8 ply, I have been chomping at the bit to play more.

Good morning. My iMac just updated to the latest and greatest version of Apple's OS. Then a popup informed me that due to the software update, my printer is now non-functional. Please consider purchasing a new printer to replace this one I bought new a year or so ago.
I guess I'm going to be doing my printing with my Windoze computer, or the Macbook Pro that I haven't allowed to update.
Sigh...
 
Good Morning All. Cloudy and 67°, headed up to 82° once the sun comes out. The unexpected thunderstorm last night was mostly bark with no bite for me right here. Much heavier rainfall in other parts of the area, I have just 0.2" in the gauge this morning. The thunder stopped just as I hit the bed and didn't keep me awake.

Nothing special about yesterday, and nothing notable planned for today. Everything outside should be dry around noon with the steady 10 mph wind out of the North, which will make for a cooler night tonight and only get into the low 70's tomorrow.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I was met with both success and disappointment. The disappointment was that after reviewing my stash of signage, I cannot find anything either appropriate or that will fit the DPM structure. So I will have to make my own. I successfully added a few figures to the sidewalk around the building.

Joe - I didn't mean that the scheduling of doctor appointments itself was political, but I was more referring to the availability of medical care here; especially for those who have decent insurance.
Troy - Regarding your wife's indoor garden. Temperature doesn't matter as much indoors or out, but the Zucchini won't bear any fruit indoors without hand-pollination. And one has to know the difference between male and female flowers. The first dozen or so flowers on most Squash varieties are always male before the plant produces a female one. In looking at those containers, the Radish and Lettuce will do OK, but does she know how deep Carrots grow? Even the short varieties need at least 12" for root development. Those seedlings look healthy though.

Good morning. Today is the 4th Sunday of Lent for those who care. Yesterday I did my Federal Taxes - e-filed - $7 back, which is really good in that 1. I did not have to pay more and 2. I did not give Uncle an Interest free loan. Comment: After several consecutive years of using the Standard Deduction, this year my itemized deductions were more advantageous, mainly on the cost of the wife's medications. With the new limits on $2000. prescription co-pays I have to increase my estimated tax payments for next year. I don't pay state income taxes any longer, and this year, I'm eligible for a $50 tax credit for paying my property taxes. I have to file this return on line on the NJ Treasury web site later.

It's hard to keep up with all the changes in tax laws any longer. For the first time in a while, I didn't even look at sports scores or watch a game. I did work on the layout though.

Didn't think you did...I my comment was affected by Jersey based healthcare issues, plus a bit of jealousy that y'all have less waiting time. ;) And...on another site,my comments about Amtrak's CEO being Canned or having resigned. I mentioned the fiasco's concerning the Acela replacements and the delay implementing the new Siemens Cars, and got the discussion shut down. (Instead of blaming someone...). Funny that later on Trains.Com had a story about the Horizon Cars being removed from service due to corrosion issues...Oppsie! No wonder he was asked to leave...All on his watch. So...I didn't want to offend anyone reading my comments.
 
Good morning all!

kind of a late check-in for me. Wife and daughter wanted a big breakfast this morning. We made Omelets, toast, hash browns and cut up some fruit we bought at Aldi's last night. First time I had been in an Aldi's in a very long time. I was impressed with the selection, and prices. Looks like they have come a long way since I last had been there some 25 years ago. It might be worth the 15 mile trip to go there a couple times a month.

Currently 65F, heading up to 68F before temps will start steadily falling into the low 30s tonight. A few stray showers have moved thru the area this morning, but not much rain associated with them.

Not much else going on, hope to keep it that way!

Don't worry... she's been a busy little bee trying to pollinate with the q-tips. She had to do that when we had the garden boxes outside, too. I keep offering to help her polinate upstairs. She hasn't taken me up on my generous offer though.

Time to put on my "Mac help" hat (if you have a Mac problem, I can probably fix it):

Go to the "Printers and Scanners" settings pane.

DELETE the entry (or entries) for your existing printer.

Power down, all the way off. Then reboot.

TURN ON the printer.

GO BACK to Printers and Scanners.

Choose "Add Printer, etc."

Give the OS time to "check around" for the printer, and for any drivers that may be found to run it.

If it still can't find anything, don't give up yet.

You didn't tell us the make, model of the printer and what connection type by which it's connected (USB, ethernet, wifi, etc.).

You might try going to printer manufacturer's site, go to support, and see what the most current drivers are.

There are some "generic" print drivers that sometimes work, as well.
I'd try something called the "CUPS" print driver if you can wrastle it up.

Final thought.
DO NOT accept "automatic" updates.
Go into system settings and TURN OFF all of that.
I like to be informed that an update is available, but I want to be the one to decide whether or not it actually GETS installed.

Good morning gang!!

After 2 bowls of cinnamon Life cereal, I decided to attack the mess in the garage. Lil Red truck is out and actually fan fit back in easily. Both the trash hoppers are well as well as the garage can (50 Gal). Tomorrow night is put out the trash night, I suspect well have stuff piled on top of the hoppers. I did get out the electric weed eater and trimmed around the house and the gardens. Not sure it I will get the tractor out later, there are a few shaggy spots in the yard but most of the yard has not awakened yet.

Sitting here not enjoying some MIO sweet tea contemplating my next move. Do I finish a brass engine re-do, or finish the craftsman style structure I started Friday? Or do I just sit on my 🫏 and watch NASCAR ?

Close but no cigar. Started with the puter, paid all the next months bills, fiddled with the structure. Now I'm sitting at the puter with the TV tuned to the race, munching on peanut butter on Captain's wafers drinking Coke Zero sugar. Hoping I dont get peanut butter on the structure!

What he said. I uodate all my Mac’s manually.

I use laser printers and they’re all at least 10 years old and the oldest is 25 years old. Luckily my lasers are post script compatible so the macOS generic postscript driver works fine.

I am having a little bit of an issue since my new Mac is an Apple Silicon one and I have some VMs that need to run Intel as I have some bookkeeping software I use that’s old. One of them is actually PPC and I have a VM with the last version of macOS that ran with the original Rosetta that runs it. There are ways of doing it but I don’t have it going yet.

We had a family get together this morning up in Wyoming. In Evanston. Had to be there at 9am for services where my nephew was speaking. He’ll be going off as a missionary to Texas (San Antonio area speaking Spanish) in April so this was a kind of farewell thing. Had a luncheon afterwards. We just got back. I’m beat. Time for a nap. I was in bed late from working on my app and some extra Duolingo last night and then woke up early by 90min from the already early time we had to get up to be in Evanston at 9am. Time for a nap.
 
The iMac has needed the update for probably a month, I finally updated today.
The printer is a Canon MG2500 series, USB only. I can use a Windoze computer if I have to print anything, or the MBP, which I waited to update until after I confirmed there were no issues with the update (there were, obviously).

Have you tried THIS page?

If you access it using the Mac, it will identify your OS (Mac).
Then go to step 2 and select "Sequoia".

I'll GUESS that you want to download and install the "MG2500 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver. 16.90.0.0"

Hmmm... try this link right now:
(might work, don't know)

It's possible that the latest Sequoia update may have "broken" this print driver.
Won't know until you install and try it.
 
Hello everyone

Its monday and last day of the month. iam in home office so its an easy start for my week :D
Yesterday more or less a month after starting, i finished my H0 scale diorama "the bridge".
Iam happy how it turned out. learnd again a lot and i hope i can transfer that knowledge to my layout soon :)

oh and the next "side" project is also already in line..

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those with viaducts!

It's troy again.

W-underground says it's as warm as it will get today at 42 F-degrees. Yesterday was 72, and stormy. I flipped the furnace over to AC. It didn't run, but wife ignores the temp in the house. I have to watch it, and we were above 70 and muggy. With all of the rain we've had, I've got two dehumidifiers running in the basement. If I have an asthma day, and hit my inhaler without much outside time, the basement funk is awake and time to dehumidify.

I'm prepping for the next book. Need to spend today getting all of the characters figured out. AI will help with that. It's a good brainstorming partner, tossing out ideas I hadn't thought of yet.

And it's clean the cat fountain day. I had to give it a deep cleaning on Friday (which is normally just a water change day) since he dropped a couple of kibbles into the fountain. That's his way of letting me know it was time to dump the old kibbles and get him fresh ones. So hopefully, today's cleaning will be an easy one without soaked kibbles.

Stopped by the hobby store last week and was told they'd just gotten a consignment lot in of Nscale stuff. Picked up some rolling stock. I'm watching for stuff with screw on trucks and metal wheels. Some of the old horn-hook couplers I'll need to switch out, unfortunately.
