And now the odor of potting soil is taking over the house. I may have to livin the basement for a while.

She's added a bunch of starters in cups to the top shelf.

So far, no asthma attack on my part, but I made her shut her office door when I caught the odor spreading into the stairway.

Hope that odor of wet soil dies out after a day.

Just remember, you're the enabler... You did the Honey-Dos that allow this...

In all seriousness, good luck to you and hopefully the asthma doesn't flare up, and good luck to her and her new hobby. There is something satisfying about growing stuff.

Good morning. It’s 34f degrees now with 70 guessed at for later. The garbage bin is out. We leave in 61 minutes for attempt #3 at getting Terry’s cataract surgery on eye #1 today. The other 2 attempts cancelled because of high pressure in the eye.

Enjoy the day

Morning all,

Clear and 36° with a sunny high of 78° later.

Did this last post different as I previously had run the second stringers to good posts when the stringers cracked during another storm. I have the new post 24" in the ground and I was able to use lag bolts to connect the 2 posts and screw the stringer on the new into the new post. Way too many screws and nails to remove to cleanly fix this any other way. I was getting tired and my solution should last a long time. I know that there are more cedar posts that need to be replaced, the cedar posts and stringers were NOT the correct material for this fence.

Unfortunately, for the insurance claim, I used about $50 in materials to all the fence and 5.5 hours of my time along with the 3 helpers. I only have another $950 to go before they pay anything and looking at the roof, may not need more that a couple hundred to get that fixed properly.

I'll be packing up my truck for the Stormville Airport tag sale in June. This time I'm going to bring some train stuff. I have what is pictured below plus 3 cars and a caboose to sell. Is this Hudson engine really worth $299.00 taken form an Ebay Ad. I was only thinking about selling it for about $50.00

Good Morning All. Clear and 42°. No change in our weather forecast, except more days with the high expected in the 80's. No snow upcoming.

Nothing particularly special about yesterday, a couple of loads of laundry mainly. Daughter #2 and family out in Hawaii on vacation, found out that in the part of Hawaii that they are at, the only eating establishment that was open on Sunday was a McDonald's??? She thinks that it's because they are close to BYU–Hawaii. I told her that it is common but not mandatory for Mormon businesses to close on Sunday. My #1 daughter hasn't fared as well, the airline lost my granddaughter's bag on the way to Vegas. It contains her antibiotics and Heaven forbid, her cell phone.
Meanwhile many more Tomato plants have emerged from the soil in the pots I planted indoors. They'll get a chance at real sunlight for a short time today, and then 24/7 starting tomorrow and for the foreseeable future until garden planting time. So far, everything indoors and outside is doing what I expected except a short row of Lettuce planted a month ago that hasn't emerged. It is "iffy" anyway, since I used 4 year old seed. I have since planted another partial row with fresh seed that should emerge in the next day or so. I feel that if you don't lose something at each end of the season, then you aren't maximizing your garden space. Tried out an air-fryer method for cooking pork chops last night. Essentially the same as pan-frying them, but without the oil and grease. Yummy!
Should be dry enough today to resume mowing, there are a few places that already need it again. The usual dishwasher load awaits me this morning. I haven't been informed if there is a honey do list yet.
As usual, it was a short Sunday out in the train shed yesterday. Mounted that 2D background structure to the backdrop.

Not much to that.
I am starting another new structure, fresh out of the box (actually bag). Remember this previously built one that I upgraded last month?

It's time to build the structure that I have in mind for the left side, which will be on a street corner.

Stay tuned.

Louis - That's the best way to avoid having to set the clocks up or back. I have one attached to the back of the house like that. It's always on DST since I only use it in the Summer when in the pool.
For the most part, we have had good Amazon delivery drivers here. They either got rid of the one who didn't read the delivery instructions, or he realized that they were there. For some reason, we don't see female drivers out here, maybe there are none. I don't think that this is restricted.
Tom O - Best of luck for Terry and a successful surgery today.

It's Commonwealth Day in Canada and the UK, but I don't think that it is a holiday, at least not in Canada. It's also National Napping Day, probably since many missed an hour of sleep yesterday. Every day is National Napping Day for me. Used to take one at work every day during lunch.
Everyone have a magnificent Monday.

Don't ever look at the what is posted "for sale" and think that is actual value. Go to "completed auctions" and see what it has actually sold for. I've seen some stuff listed for years.

Back again and it’s still morning. They did the eye pressure tests on her 3 times this morning and she passed all 3. They took her 10 minutes ago and I just realized I can connect to the Clinic WiFi on my IPadPro. So here I am. Using the phone to read is fine, trying to type on the phone is not for me

Finished reading the neighborhood news letter that came out Sunday night. Seems one of our sort of close neighbors has chickens and will sell eggs at $3.00 per dozen but you must sign a 6 month contract for at least 1 dozen per week. Since eggs at the grocery are hovering around $6 per dozen and predictions are for another 40% increase signing up maybe a good idea. The online news about eggs is the inflated prices will remain probably for the next 18 months. In other egg news is the USA#1 producer is reporting record profits even though 1/2 the chickens were destroyed. Gee, how can that happen?
