Trains - real and model - trains!
I think most of our local snow arrived after I posted this morning. My driveway, very flat terrain has about 4-5” of the white stuff. We have guests coming in about 90 minutes so I am going out to clean the driveway. The sidewalks are clear because of the radiant heat coils.
I envy you guys who see snow on a regular basis.
When I first moved to these parts back in 1977, we used to get at least 3 or 4 major snowstorms each season - now-a-daze if we see an inch it is heralded as a significant event. My snow-thrower hasn't thrown for the past 2 winters.
Stay warm (and safe),

You may not wish to believe this (or even envision it) but I used to dive off the old United Fruit pier in the harbor for a swim with the kids I met while staying and visiting with my Merchant Marine father whose ship made Baltimore homeport. Yeah - lots of good Baltimore memories.
The Baltimore Harbor is generally safe to swim in these days. The water quality has drastically improved in recent years. It's not recommended to swim in the harbor after storms. The water quality can change. This year there will be a swim event "Harbor Splash 2024"
I look forward to more of your Baltimore memories, when you have time.

Good to know . . . there was a time when things got "grim" in the harbor; as you already knew.
When in Baltimore I used to taken in a
Clippers game (or three) over the years; minor league hockey is far more energetic than many people realize. They also played in the now-defunct Southern Hockey league and I recall watching them in Norfolk against "my"
Tidewater Sharks.
Great fun - great memories.
Later . . .

Its funny. Here in Northern Illinois we would get several significant snowstorms and more frequent lesser snowfalls. The last few years we just aren't seeing it either. We only had about 3 weeks of winter this year.
I purchased a new snow blower a couple of years ago and I probably don't have much more than 3 hours total on it. The year I bough it I only used it twice. Didn't even run a full tank of gas through it. It got used more this year than any of the previous 2 years.
I actually have mine put away for the season, which means we will more than likely get dumped yet this year!

I have always been a cold-weather person, however, now into my mid-80's the old-bones are feeling "it" more than ever.
Best memories I have are in winter - best place(s) I have lived include Alaska & New England - best place visited: Canada in winter.
So, that pretty much sez-it-all.
Will freely admit to not relishing the idea of having the snow-thrower "throw" me as my physical limitations are becoming more evident as these years pass by - BUT - I still enjoy being out "in it."
You are.spot-on with your comment about putting away the
mo-sheen surely means another dumping is on the way!
Take care,
Tom in Missouri

Well, the wife talked to her travel buddy, and the travel buddy's husband is at the stage of life where he doesn't want to travel overseas. So the Greek Isles cruise is off. (I didn't know it was being considered until about two days ago).
Now, we're looking at Alaska. Probably the Vancouver BC to Seaward Alaska 7 day leg. Our first ever ship, the NCL Jewel is doing that one week up, one week back. Not sure which direction we'd be heading, but it's in consideration for June to aug.

PRR Station - Kokomo, Indiana
Kokomo, Indiana was located on the Pennsylvania’s Panhandle line between Logansport and Cincinnati. The Pennsy passenger and freight depot is shown as it appeared on October 10, 1934. The depot was built between 1925 and 1928.

Morning all
29 F ° High of 41° Dark and Cloudy at the moment
Was up at 2:30 for the pee run. Decided the brain was too engaged to go back to bed, so I came in and sat in the corner of the shop, but I was zonked again by the time Bill T stumbled in at 4:30ish.
Got a busy day today running the tank combat game for the local hobby group. Need to print up stat cards, and brush up on the rules. That starts at 1:30ish
Till then, it's coffee drinking, rules reading, and maybe a trip to target. We'll see.
Good morning all. Second day of sunshine. The Global Warming Brigade will be shouting from the rooftops instead of enjoying the day.
A rare occasion of seeing both son and daughter here today.
In the train room earlier.
At Leeds Sovereign Street Station. My first efforts at printing Private Owner decals. I was proud of the 'Griffiths Earlsheaton' decal, then it was damaged by water. Must redo. The Glencairn wagon was done when I had a Scottish based layout, therefore eight years old
Scenes at Crown Point Yard.
The LNWR car boxvan is a model of one that ran in 1921/1922. Just outside my timeframe of 1914/1919, but unique at the time. A case of 'a must have'.
