I use the website: LeonardoAI...

Anyone can sign up and get 150 credits per day to use.

Check Youtube for "How to use Leonardo AI" vids. One basic use vid and the free account will get you started.

HINT: Turn OFF the Alchemy button, and check it whenever you change styles of images. Alchemy will suck out the credit real fast.

Trying to write a "prompt" is a challenge unto itself. Leonardo is good with ONE thing. OK with two. Beyond that is forgets what you need. So, for the book cover of the Pixie in front of the amusement pier, that's two images combined.

to the do the "photoshopping" I use Affinity Photo. It's a TON cheaper than photoshop, and just about as functional.

Hope that helps.
Interesting I''ll have to have a go at it I have Adobe Ill and Photoshop have used Corel forever used to be a beta tester for Corel then somehow Adobe found out and would send me a copy of Illustrator each year tying to convert me I still like Corel better

But this new stuff AI is different I've been looking and some are free and some pay monthly I just want to play a bit so free is good

Thanks for your input will watch a couple youtube videos and see if this old man can learn something new
Mike

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those with big appetites

It's Troy again... Look what I found sunning itself in the "tanning booth" at the 3d printer station

Panzer4.jpg

Typical of those big cats, always want to lay in the sun and do nothing...

They joy of facebook ads is sometimes I miss stuff, and then FB shows the ad to me after running it for a week. And the typo or repeated word jumps right out.

Had to redo a graphic last night in a panic after I noticed said repeated word (same text, overlaid on three different images). No wonder that ad wasn't working well.

Prompting the AI to grasp a concept is the challenging part. For example... you could try to get it to make a Steam Locomotive. It probably learned how to make several of those, and it will average those together into a model that didn't really exist. But if you ask for a Berkshire, was it trained on that incarnation? Or is it going to try to put Warren Bs face on a generic one, like "Warren The Tank Engine" on the children's Telly?

Good morning all. A large coffee and a blueberry muffin please, Flo. I'll be at the window seat. Looks like snow clouds approaching.

The girls have gone clothes shopping as our treat. I can see a few hundred pounds disappearing from our bank account. 🤑

Hopefully run some trains this afternoon.

Back later

So what you are saying is it learns from all the different users how to make an image So I can't really design my own ?
Now I see why it's AI it decides for you

Models like this are "trained" to recognize an image. Sort of like "here are 5000 images of an apple... this is what an apple looks like"

then the learning model is trained to recognize an apple by those same images presented, with some static overlaid on the images. Then again, with more static. Then more. Eventually, the AI is asked to recreate those images when it's presented with an all static image based on each instance of an apple (this is the "diffusion" model). The AI doesn't retain the original images, but retains the math behind what average views of apples look like.

the databases of images they're trained aren't inside the AI... but the info about "Lamborghini" or "Lake house". Just like a human artist does. It has the math inside of what those averages and variations are.

I'm not sure if it's learning from each generation or not? My instinct says no. There are too many issues with what it generates. Faces are now pretty good. BUT, hands are still iffy. Lots of extra fingers popping up. ALWAYS count fingers.

Here's a good video on what Leonard is and how to use it. https:/ /youtu.be/DzJPO1-KZSE?si=tbRGQLQVJ4d5tNvy (I put a space between the // so it wouldn't stroke out

Morning all,

41° and clear going for 76° later. They've been wrong on the high temp most of the week, but I'd take 60° if we can get there.

Servers are updating and 1 firewall is complete. I still have the PD firewall which I have to notify them before I take it down as it does impact emergency services for the 10 minutes it takes to restart.

I think I voided the warranty on a DVD player the kids said was broken. There was a sticker that said warranty void if broken and I broke it. It is fixed, but was a "simple" fix as there is a flip down door that had come off which could only be reattached from the inside. I found the spring inside the unit and managed the repair. It doesn't like some DVDs for some reason but does work. BTW the manufacture date was May 2003. The unit is 4 times the size it needed to be.

Got all my DVD and Blue ray disks put up and all my books on bookshelves in the basement. I some cases I stacked shorter books in front of the taller books, but I now have no more boxes of books in the main room in the basement.

A server is screaming for a reboot...BBL

Good morning everyone!

Supposedly going to be a nice day today with temps in the low 60s. going to be 70 tomorrow, but windy. I am tasked today to get my car cleaned up, then its off to the basement for some train time.

The trip to Red Lobster last night was unimpressive. The couple members that commented on their past experiences were right. The portions had shrunk considerably and the restaurant we were at were understaffed and we experienced a longer than usual wait time. There were many tables open, but not enough waitress to cover them. We knew on a Friday night during lent it was going to be busy, so we went with an open mind and rolled with it. There were some waiting that were getting pretty upset.

Have a great day all and be safe!

Good Morning All. Clear and 47° with an expected high today at 83°. Same range for the next 5 days or so, then maybe rain again on Thursday. The overnight lows will not dip below 53° or so.

It was a great day yesterday once the ground surface dried out. I got back on the mower and did the north side of the yard around the train shed. I hand-pulled some weed sprouts in the garden that were too close to my veggies to get with the hoe. One aspect of gardening out here in the boonies, is that I have no control over vegetation growing in the nearby woods and fields. Certain weeds with tiny wind-borne seeds are a constant issue. Indeed, I have some of those same weeds on the fringes of my own property that contribute. Being as I am an Organic Gardener, I don't use herbicides.

Another productive day out in the train shed yesterday, as I redid some of the headstones in the cemetery. I added at least three dozen more but I have many, many more to add. Additionally, I completed assembly of the house kit from Atlas. This was a nice easy kit to assemble and apart from the warped porch, was a high quality one. There were no curtains included in the kit, so I went to the "curtain box".

Note the kitty in the upstairs window.

I still need window treatments for three more windows but I am undecided at this point regarding the amount of weathering to add. I have a few ideas about adding details, but that will come after I study it for a bit. I have been known to go 2-3 years before detailing some structures!o_O

Guy - You're welcome. What remains of older wooden grain elevators around here, and there is not many any more, are still generally red. Many have had their exteriors covered over in corrugated metal siding, but the red wood is still visible in spots.
Curt - Yes, the Atlas house comes in five colors, thus saving me from having to paint it. There's Gray, Black, White, Brown and a Red chimney. We have the same issues with Red Lobster and other dine-in places around here during the summer and holiday's whenever the two universities in town are shut down.
Tom - Nice that they let you park the truck indoors. When I still worked, I always scheduled my vacation time for Fridays. 28 vacation days, 10 personal days and the normal three-day weekend holidays, gave me three day weekends just about every week.

Today is Texas Independence Day. On this day in 1836, the nation of Texas declared their independence from Mexico. Nine and a half years it became part of the USA.
Musical birthday today, Jon Bon Jovi is 62. He's a bit younger than I thought.

Everybody have a great day.

Welp... got a notice five days in a row that one of my author websites (using Wordpress) had a broken plugin... Webpage was still there so I didn't worry about it... this morning, I tried to login and turn off the annoying plugin causing the issue...

And I couldn't log in...

Fortunately, I host the site on Bluehost and was able to find out how to turn off pluging via FTP and did so. Then I could login. Renamed the plugin folder and started turning them on one by one. found the culprit, but it won't delete the pesky thing... It's off for now, but it's being a butthead.

I've only got Jetpack, Askiment, and Disable Guttenburg up and running, and it still won't delete. But if I activate the Google Analytics by Monsterwhatever, I get the fatal error, and have to backtrack.

Good Morning! - It's warmed up to 0F, but, it's snowing. We're supposed to be getting a fairly good dump, so I might be hugging the snow-shovel again later.

The G-kids came over after school yesterday, and were eager to build something on the layout. So, I let them glue the sidewalks down.
Layout_03-02-2024.JPG
I put the road in the front, because the kids like running the little cars around.
They enjoyed running a train back-n-forth, even if the track circle is still incomplete, without the truss bridge to join everything together. There's still about 30' of track to run on.

Today, the G-sons want to come over and help build models. So, I suppose I'll let them build these two trailer units:
Layout_03-02-2024 (2).JPG

They seem to be simple enough. If they have troubles, I'll lend a hand.
I feel it's to the worlds best interest to get them as involved in the hobby as possible. I'm not the type of guy to let children live with their nose in a video game.

Curt - I know southerners have a tough time with the cold weather. When I was guiding years back, I would need to supply gas heaters in the blinds so American hunters wouldn't freeze to death. On the other hand, I'm immobile when the thermometer hits the 80+ mark.
Great job on the building! Is it scratch-built?

Tom - If Cambria can afford beautiful trucks like those, then the taxes on the people are too high!
Willie - Great job on the miniature house! - When I was a kid, the landscape was elevators and oilrigs. Today, there are few left of either.

Well, the dog needs fed and walked. Gotta go!
Have a wonderful day!

Finally we are treated to your start of the layout. That hand throw on the switch behind Ace Hardware will not be a problem?
