Got the lowdown on tonight's birthday dinner for my daughter #2. I am now going with some anticipation! The place is called Neighborhood Services. Sounds like a utility company or something. I was told to dress formal, which to me means jeans instead of shorts and a collared shirt. I looked up the menu, which is somewhat limited and they're proud of their stuff, looking at the prices.
Menu.
I will still go with an open mind. It's one of those occasions that Dad will be (willingly) expected to pick up the check. After all, that's why I get invited.

Hmmmm.... is Prime Rib worth putting on jeans and collared shirt?

For those who are unfamiliar with the phrase “Take off, eh!” It was made famous by Bob and Doug McKenzie on SCTV in the 1980s; two goofy, lovable Canadian characters who used “take off, eh!” constantly. It stuck in the culture as a lighthearted, good‑natured jab.
It’s basically a playful way of saying “get outta here” or “you’re full of it.”
Not angry, not serious — more like a friendly shove with a grin.
“Ten bucks is ten bucks”

Repost of what I just put up in the "Road Markings" thread. Just for grins.

I'm packing up my truck with Lionel train track plus lots of other stuff I'm going to sell at the Stormville Airport Tag sale July 4. I only have 20% of the track loaded and another 80% to get bundled up and in the truck. I already gave a friend 200 feet and 8 switches for his winter train project. The last time I sold stuff at the tag sale I sold the whole truck load by 1pm. At that time a few people asked me if I had more train stuff. I hope they show up. I fell down the garage stairs loading the truck and banged my knee and wrist. I have a slight pain in my knee now. Swal

When I was a kid, I would have died if I had that much track for my Lionel 027 trains.

Good afternoon. I am glad that we are getting a little bit of a break from the heat. As you'll see from the photos posted, it is only 66 degrees, Cooler weather for the next 3 or 4 days with some showers forecasted.

Mikey - It is a good thing that your A/C is working. Be careful out there.

Willie - That photo may cool some folks down a bit. The wind is one thing I do NOT miss here. Where I used to like we could get a wind out of the canyon heading down to West Yellowstone from the 20 to 40 MPH range. Working out in that wind for 2 hours would wear you out as if you worked for 8 hours.

When it came to tool boxes, I had o\known the Snap On salesman for years. There were times we didn't have 2 nickels to rub together and other times with times were better, but I bought the USED chests with drawers. I didn't need anything fancy. Just needed something to organize and keep tools off of the floor. My son mentioned that he did use a few colorful words when he was trying to move them into his shop/garage.

Willie and Mike, I did get on the internet and ordered a #4 left hand turnout and some code 100 rail joiners. I don't need many. I have been looking into Woodland Scenics for ground covering. I had been looking for the ground foam that I had used for decades and didn't find any. Did they change the name of the product or did I not look far enough in their listing?

I moved the LEDs from facing the rear of the shelf to pointing down and this improved the lighting. Notice the temperature reading on the weather station of the shelf above. The time is incorrect. Tis unit is such a pain in the ass to enter the time.

I don't think that there will be enough room to put Tschache Oil on the module. I will put mirrors at each end of the module to make it look larger. I would like to have 3 homes and a couple or three businesses on it. Have to find a place here in town to cut the mirrors. Maybe a picture framing shop.

Onto the archives.

Having been a cop, this one is my favorite. FRESH DONUTS. Looks like Bill Tidler Jr is a step ahead of me.

LATER
I love your photos....nice work.
I noticed some Ford and Chevy "cop" cars at the donut shop.
But then there is that one Buick......Broderick Crawford must be around......10-4.

The typhoon dumped a lot of water on us all day. I hope somebody caught and kept a lot of it. I had thought of doing a rain catchment system, but I can't get those nice blue 55 gal drums out here.

I'll go check my normal youztoobs channels to see how those farmers are doing. Hope those reservoirs got filled up. We're guessed to be raining for the next week as well.

Well, my RDC turned out to be a major bummer. It seems it needs a gallon of oil every hour to keep the noise down. I let the seller know and he refunded me and doesn't want it back. I guess its time to start experimenting. Maybe a Kato flywheel with the hex joint on one end and the dogbone on the other? I'm still not 100% sure of what the problem is.

Sounds like you got lucky and got a top notch seller!

Good evening all!

Turned out to be a not half bad day. Sun came out later in the morning and the humidity didn't feel all that bad. I even took an afternoon
dip in the pool while everyone else in the house was occupied with their own things and didn't need my assistance.

City 4th od July fireworks are set for tonight at the lake. This is the only time being in the high tax "lake district is paying off. I don't even have
to leave the house or my A/C comfort to watch them as they are literally a block away. Downfall is the dog is all stirred up since all the neighbors
are setting them off and they will go till midnight.

Time to venture to the basement till dark.

Have a great rest of your evening all!

After looking at the menu, looks like you better have a high credit limit on a card......or two.
I found 2 locations listed for Dallas : one on Oak Lawn and one on Lovers Lane. There is one in Addison, but I didn't try to locate it.
I haven't been down around the Oak Lawn area of Dallas in well over 20 years. As I remember folks there dress in an unusual manor and walk and talk in an a different sort of way. Or at least it was different than what I was used to.
I hope you have a great time.

Well, let's see, since the site is going good now, what to say...

Oh yeah, going to make lau lau today. Picked all my leaves yesterday before the non-issue typhoon could have tore them up, and they are taking up the bottom of my refer. Just came back from the commissary with some pork belly and thick cut bacon. I used to use liquid smoke, but this tastes better. Pile it all up in my pressure cooker with some Hawaiian salt and let it go for 90 mins. Have to make sure the leaves are cooked or you get a dose of calcium oxalate, which will give you scratchy throat in the milder cases.
