Good morning all!

We never really had a round #2 of thunderstorms last night. Everything shifted south and west of us so we were spared again.

Should be a gorgeous day today. Sun is out and all the clouds have mainly moved out of the area. Currently its 61F with an
expected high of 72F. Next rain chance isn't till Sunday

Usual stuff around the house this morning.

Not much else going on at the moment.

Have a safe day everyone!

Meanwhile, here in the UK, after days of online speculation and the usual nonsense being spouted by pretencious Youtuber Influencers, it's official that KR Models (Canadian based company of mostly UK subject OO scale models, except for the Shay which is apparently made, in the factory and unpaid for to the Chinese manufacturer so effectively 'sitting on the dockside') have gone into liquidation.
At least their built and may be on the market yet if someone buys them up. I know from reading on other forums they were highly
anticipated

Just sucks for the people who have already paid for their models thru pre-orders they probably wont be made whole.

Good morning from an even wetter Wisconsin from yesterday at wake up. We had 3 series of severe storms quickly move through the area yesterday with storm #4 arriving later than expected but was more a steady rain than the winds and lightning we had during the day. Winds instead of picking up around 8:30 last night went from 50 mph + to 20s and the lightning just ended! Nothing reported on the local TV site Terry watches but I’m sure after 8am something will be posted. There were no sirens last night announcing tornadoes. Total rain in my unofficial rain gage is 4.5”. Definitely needed.

I looked again this morning on the neighborhood Facebook page. Doesn’t read like any real issues. Our neighborhood is a divided subdivision. Really nice houses with mostly nice people. Then we have those houses on the hill where the entitled Karen’s seem to all live in there mini McMansions. They actually petitioned in 2021 the city that their 2 roads should be gated! They have branches down and are asking for neighborly help! I don’t live on the hill and per a few of the Karen’s say the duplexes should never been permitted. I had to remind one of them a few years ago I built the 12 neighborhood duplexes that started the sub division in 2007. Don’t let me get started

Mike, I see a River flood warning till Wednesday for the Illinois River now at 22’ and the flood stage at 20’. Will that affect you in Mendota?

We are around 9 heading to the western shore of Lake Michigan or Eastern Wisconsin. The strong pull is Hiawatha Hobbies for me where I need to pay the crazy high prices scale model paints have become. My concrete mix of 4 colors is low and my painting of the 2 paper mills will be started in earnst when the travels of July are completed. I also need some colors to paint the 4 brass pre-owned Great Northern diesels I purchased Monday that are due Saturday from the USPS that tracking says are currently in Memphis. Though I starting painting brass in the 70’s and continued into the late 80’s I have painted brass in years. I have a brass water tank for my paper mill I must have painted in 2014 or 15 but nothing since. The new acrylic paints will make this an interesting adventure. I can’t handle solvent paints any longer!

Between storms yesterday the grandson came over and baked cookies with Terry. She makes these 2-3 times a year a monster cookie that he loves and helps out with. Well yesterday he made them and she just supervised. Also made were batches of chocolate chip cookies and ginger cookies. He and I did get to the LHS to pick up his slot cars.

I watched the women’s draft for the Professional Women’s Hockey League. 5 Wisconsin players went in the 1st round of 12 including the #1, 4, 5,8 and 11.

Jimupton2000 sorry for your loss

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Clear and 75°, expect 93° later on. There's still a 60% chance of rain just after midnight tonight, at maybe .5". Only into the low-80's tomorrow. That will be nice if it happens. But around here, Mother Nature and the NWS rarely agree.

Mostly just did small stuff around here yesterday. I had to repair a 45 year old Venetian blind...maybe it's time to replace them. Of the original 15 that we bought when we first moved in, seven are still in place and functional. The other eight were removed when various remodeling projects took place. Pool looks marginally better today, but there's still a lot of fine dust in there from the wheat combining next door yesterday.

The weekly grocery trek is this morning. For a change, there will be no stop at the pharmacy! We'll probably also stop at Sam's Club on this trip since we decided not to go last week. We get some stuff there, but for the most part their quantities/portions there are too great for just the two of us. But hearing aids, eyeglasses and stuff like charcoal, gallon jugs of Olive Oil or other non-perishables; they work out fine.

I mostly tied up some loose ends out in the train shed yesterday, touching up paint here and there. Did some ground cover in the adjacent recreation center that wasn't intended to be part of my original project. Hoping to get started on the grade crossing next, but probably not today since I am expecting a delivery from ScaleTrains. So it depends on the timing of that delivery of more engines.

Tom O -
I then turned to a real world job in production management.
Funny how that works! Arlene was a double major in Political Science and Biology, and ended up working in medical offices (part time mom) until she finally became a tax preparer. I was a Chemistry major until I got a real world job in production management also.
Alan - Just how many drill bits did you need for 144 #79 holes, and 116 #76 holes???
John - Condolences on your loss.
Mike -
Here is the statement put out by KR Models:
Sounds like they have no blame in this game!!!

Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney is 84 today.

Everyone have a super Thursday.

We didn't get so much as a drop of rain.

As the front approached the St. Louis metro area, the entire system fell apart and dissipated before it even entered St. Charles county to the west- northwest of St. Louis. The wind died down around sunset and it was just a sticky evening instead of a stormy evening.

Currently 77°F/61°F and cloudy with a falling dewpoint since the front passed. Good morning! It sounds like everyone here survived the doom and gloom of Mother Nature. Hopefully it will remain calm for awhile. Supposed to be in the mid-80s for the rest of the week with rain on Father's Day.

Have a safe and dry Thursday. Servus!

Morning All! 58 in the Brew City this morning. have to take one of the cats to the vet today for her annual. That means loading her in a carrier which should be eligible for combat pay. She always reacts like she's going to the gas chamber. That's how it is with rescues. You never know what they went through before you got them. The other two go later this week. They are easier but still no fun. Club night tonight. Business meeting, but also a possible chance to test that mail train!

Good morning gang!

72° under lightly raining skies, should clear up later today.

For me its Friday, as I am off for the next 10 days. Tomorrow I see the orthopedist about by back, then I am off to North Carolina for a week. I expect to take in two of the Grandsons baseball games and a Zebulon Devil Dogs game. Plus Grampy and Grandma will be in charge while the Daughter and SIL are at work since their normal sitter will be on vacation that week.

Grandson and I are planning on at least 1 day of fishing, and me 1 day of hobby shop visitation, plus we will be checking out the Sr. living possibilities in NC. Gotta get out of Absurdistan before it turns into Kalifornication.

Good morning all, 84 and muggy here already, supposed to hit 88 and the HI is supposed to hit near 100. A Battletech game this Afternoon and Evening, so I will be loading the van with all the stuff for that.
@jmupton2000 my condolences and prayers for you and your family.
Thankful that everyone seems safe, take care today.
Lifting my cup of coffee to you.
