Slow day today in the Coffee Shop. I'm experiencing just 72° and it appears that the rain has passed leaving about .8" in the rain gauge.
So we might just have the world's first trillionaire today, Elon Musk. Just how much money is a trillion dollars? I read and then verified the math, that if you spent one million dollars every hour, 24/7/365, you wouldn't run out of money for 114 years. Now add compound interest to that and ....
I don't begrudge him for making that much, but how about sending me some?

SpaceX stock opened about $175 a share. Now, if you had a choice between 2 shares of SPCX stock or an HO scale diesel locomotive with DCC and sound, which one would you buy? Right now I don't have enough cash for either, and who knows where the stock will go after the initial excitement wears off..if it does. Wiish I had bought Rocket Lab when it was $5.00 a share.

My son bought RKLB in the high single digits after I suggested it. I didn't get in until a bit later.

Several companies on the S&P 500 have opted for not purchasing any of SpaceX the feeling is because it’s such a large public offering that in six months when those stocks are able to be cashed, people are gonna dump and run because SpaceX is not a profitable company and they’re mainly doing this just to raise capital. I guess in six or seven months we’ll find out who was right.

One wonders. Up til now, the house you're in has always been your "bug out" location when building or buying another property and your old digs got sold.

Will you be setting up a tent in the daughter's back yard while the new place is built? Purchasing a Class A and heading to Florida for the Winter? I hear there is a good fix-it guy down there who likes trains.
Troy, you’ve hit the nail on the head with this one!

Honestly this has hit fast and Terry all of a sudden is overwhelmed that it’s moving so quickly. 6/30 may get delayed to 8/1. She agreed finally it’s too big but we’ve owned this place since it was built in 2007 as a rental duplex at first then we used it for our corporate offices. Neither of us though are sentimental about material things. But this has been available whenever we needed it. We have the property to build so that’s not an issue for us. We will not permanently leave the area because the grandkids are here.

We will not travel in a motor home as we’d probably hate each other after a couple weeks.

The daughter's office/shop/stables/chicken coop was built as a place for Terry or me to live in eventually whenever we wanted. It has the elevator Terry needs now and I will unfortunately need sooner than later. I am not sure I want to live above the stable portion. It is though far enough away from the main house that we wouldn’t be in the way. We might go there for a while. The son now in Wimberley, Texas and sometimes Austin still has a condo he is so sort of trying to sell but he rents it out during F1 month and pays most of its bills for the year in that month. He has 3 Tiny Houses on the ranch in Wimberley and we have seen them. His house there should be ready in September is what the contractor says now, We could build 2 Tiny Houses quickly here and move into them while the house gets built. That though is iffy as we can’t convert them to a AirBnB thing in the Town of Verona. But nothing is finalized.

We have not really thought of a design yet for out on the property. Terry, the daughter and granddaughter are out there right now looking for a site to place the house. Other than we know it will have the high ceilings, open floor space, have a basement, zeroscape landscaping and be self sustaining anything is possible. Before and while it gets built we are going to play it by ear.

Maui and my brothers place is definitely out. Maui bored me and Terry’s sympathies now lie big time with the natives there since the Lahaina fires. She will not blend her bleeding heart liberal leanings and I’m not going to ask her.

I think in the end it will be all good

It's up to 89F here with dripmaking humidity. Pushing 100 on the Heat Index. A lazy day today, went out to the train room for a few minutes this morning and it was already hot. Went out to get the mail and was almost sweating by the time I got back to the house.
Got an email a bit ago inviting me to a meeting with a train club in Little Rock. So I will get up early and dream of breakfast pictures.

Got back from the new eye doc hospital. This was the quickest visit so far. Checked in, gave them the referal letter and filled out 1 form, sat for a little bit, went to the restroom and was called before I could get out. Then upstairs, wait for about 10 mikes, got called to get the eye puff test, then the pics... etc. We were in a 0907 and out by 1115.

The lace face mask didn't go over too well, guess I shouldn't have bought the one with the missing piece in the middle...

Ok, I need help and older gents are the go-to source.

Styrene plastic (I think) typically black, but it came in other colors too. Maybe 3/8" wide.

You ran the strip through a hand-held embosser and selected each letter as needed, then squeezed the trigger and that letter was added to the strip. Then onto the next letter.

What the heck was the thing called?

Ok, the missing word was label. Should be here tomorrow morning (Amazon). The rubber switch knob will be harder (it was a left to right pot type switch. Standard too on my old 914, but probably $50 now off ebay.

FWIW this car used an actual ignition switch key, and that to the right of the WISCHER knob. Only $300 off ebay right now.

[But not MY money]

Having good success using GIMP as a magnifying tool too. I was able to zoom in to the left so that WISCHER and LICHT filled most of the screen. Can't remember how to clip it though, or I'd show you.

Amusing really that on a Le Mans 24 hour winning prototype it should come down to a strip plastic label maker to describe each button and switch.

I wonder if Jerry Seinfeld's 917...on which he turned down a 25 million dollar auction offer (@Mecoms) to sell it recently...sports such plastic strip dash labels too.

It should. After all, that would be "prototypical."
